Does anyone have an oscillating vibration exercise machine. We bought one before the band and I am afraid to use it thinking it might cause the band to move. The machine shakes and vibrates your entire body which is supposed to be good for your bone density, circulation and toning.

Has anyone been successful loosing weight without doing a lot of strenuous exercise? I was recently banded, but several weeks before being banded I hurt my leg and back. I plan on going to the pool after my incisions heal, but as far as a lot of walking or using exercise equipment, that is out for the time being.

Has anyone experienced this. I was driving home from work about two weeks ago and yawned, inhaling really deep. All of a sudden it felt like my diaphram was turning inside out. The pain lasted for about a minute or two. Every since then I only take a few bites of food and start to feel fullness and sliming. I hardly have any fill not even up to 2 cc yet. I can't imagine anything would move out of place just from that, but it really did hurt.

To Stay Or Not To Stay.....
Regnu replied to OldMomOf3's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My insurance required me to stay one night and glad I did. Was able to get stronger pain meds, plus rest. -
I am having a similar problem, look at my post. I only eat a few bites of food and feel full and start that mucous thing. I only started recently I have very little fluid in the band because everytime I go for a fill I can't tolerate much fluid. I drink the water and it starts backing up on me. I might have to have it all taken out.

I would try and stay away from the protein shakes and eat solid foods which keep you full. I work nights too and have a weird eating schedule. I don't have that much fill and I eat at least a cup and a half of food at meals and still have been loosing. I eat a lot of salads, I eat the meat usually chicken first and what is left in the salad until I feel I've had enough.

Call them.

I also take a few sips with meals, just get so dry, but I do not gulp liquids down that would flush the food down too quickly.

Had my first fill a couple of weeks ago. Didn't hurt at all, the only thing I had a problem with was the amount the Dr put in. He started with 3cc and I could not tolerate it. Could not get water down and started hiccuping like crazy. He had to take some out, don't know how much though because I forgot to ask.

Anyone Have Trouble Eating Breakfast?
Regnu replied to Juliemyers30's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Never feel like eating in the morning, just don't have an appetite. I if do have a little bit of an appetite can only eat very little in the morning. -
Tried a diet coke zero for the first time the other day since being banded. For some reason it tasted awful to me, don't know why. Didn't have a problem with the taste before being banded.

1/4 cup seems like a really small amount of food. I was banded on Feb 3rd and my Dr. had me on solids about three weeks out. Went for first fill yesterday and he put in 3cc. I could not get water down. Felt pressure in my chest and started getting the hiccups really bad. He took out some of the fill and the pressure in my chest left and the hiccups stopped almost immediately. I have lost almost 30 lbs since surgery eating a 1/2 cup to 1 cup of food 3 times a day. Not a snack person or grazer. I was really surprised I could not tolerate the 3cc. Don't know how much he took out, forgot to ask. I think if you are doing fine without a fill, don't see any reason to get one!

I have been reading how some people get a fill and do not feel a difference in restriction for days or weeks. Does anyone know why that is since the saline goes in and fills the band instantly? Just wondering if any one knew the answer.

Good luck, do you know when your surgery date will be?

Can I suggest maybe egg or tuna salad, low fat refried beans, mashed sweet potato, mashed avocado, cottage cheese, yogurt, etc.

"that's Great For Them, But That Won't Be Me" - Anyone Think That?
Regnu replied to HumbleBeginnings's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I don't think that way either, I keep trying to vision myself at goal weight. I've also bought some clothes a size smaller that I am looking forward to wearing. I keep thinking if others can do it, so can I! -
Surgery Tomorrow.....
Regnu replied to HICK CHICK '99's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm in my 50's and didn't think the surgery was bad at all. Also had a large hiatal hernia repair at the same time. I know a lot of people complain about pain from the gas they pump in, the nurse told me they pumped most of it back out so did not have a lot of gas pain either also never felt nauseous. -
I ran different canned soups through the blender to liquify, also did the same to the black beans in the microwave pouch. They are really good. El Paso brand.

I get my first fill in about two weeks and wondering if I should get one. I watch my portions most of the time and eat every four hours or so. I sometimes get hungry before that time but not that often. Have still been losing.

Is It Okay To Start The Preop Diet A Week Early?
Regnu replied to Ready2BFit's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Probably will not hurt anything, but two weeks of the pre op diet was enough for me, don't think I could have taken three weeks. -
I get first fill in about two weeks. I can pretty much eat anything also, but have been watching how much and what I eat. I have been doing really well until last night. I had such a craving for chips and salsa and gave in. I know I ate more chips than I should have. I'm trying not to feel guilty about it and will just get back on track today.

I have Tricare South, did not have to show that I've been trying to loose weight for the last six months. I did get a letter from my PC though that stated I had tried various weight loss methods with no permanent weight loss and had some co-morbidities.

Haven't had any fills yet, get first fill in a couple of weeks. I can pretty much eat anything I want, but have been limiting the amount. I eat mostly protein and then maybe some kind of vegetable. Protein keeps you feeling fuller longer. Sometimes a greek yogurt for snack. If I eat too much I get an uncomfortable feeling and also start hiccuping. I've heard it sometimes takes several fills before you feel restriction.
