Hi! I AM having the same dilemma because i have a huuuuuge family and we always get together for christmas and new years and the entire week relies on food food and more food and by the end of it i always add on a few more kilos... why wait?! I had my first consultation with the clinic on the 28th of september and official consult with the surgeon on the 14th of october, have already done my bloodwork, referral, sorted out things with the insurance company and booked in a date... the 28th of November to leave 3 weeks to get up and running in time for christmas! so i say get it done, and get it soon! you may be one of the lucky bandits who lose 10-20 pounds in the first few weeks and will feel sexier and healthier during the holiday period! most importantly, you can bring in the new year knowing that it is going to be the start to a new you with fewer health issues, and a guarantee for a longer and prosperous life! so DEFINITELY DO NOT WAIT!! we can be band buddies because we will hopefully be having the band around the same time!! good luck!!! wish me luck too! x

Thanks for your motivational words! means a LOT!! well as for my details.. im 20 years old, turn 21 in 2 weeks! my bmi is 45+, i am 176 cms in height, think that is 5"7' and i weigh 139 kilos... which if im correct is around 306 pounds, lol sorry im in aus and am used to using the metric system! i wish to lose a max of about 70 kilos which is about 155 pounds.. so i really do have a long way to go! but i lose weight fairly easily, the problem has been with keeping it off and letting it stay that way!

i will defiiinitely let u know how it goes! i am excited and scared at the same time, but mostly scared because of the recovery pain and the fills! I HATE NEEDLES~!! i remember crying at school when i got my flu vaccinations!! and im 20 years old now but still cannot handle the sight of needles! good luck to you as well!! and like you said, we have to tihnk about out own health and future! so everyone else can take a hike! HHAHA cant wait to be all sexy and fitting into a tinier size by next year this time! where abouts do you live? who is doing ur surgery? im in melbourne, aus, and getting my done by the famous paul o'brien, which is why im actually half confident atleatst!!!

its great that you were able to tell so many people and personally know people that have had it already done! i feel like i am on this journey all alone since everyone i know is against it, but i have made the decision to do this for myself for a better and healthier future! my whole family, uncles, aunties, cousins are extreeemely judgemental! and they spread gossip like a house on fire, which is why I do not want anyone to know since they all talk, and its not always good things! I just cant wait for all us bandees to come together here next year and compare our personal weight losses so we can be proud of each other and ourselves! its going to be an amazing journey! I am so excited!! 8 weeks to go to the beginning of the new me!

do you know how to do the private facebook group thing? im all for it! have you ladies told anyone about your surgery? I do not want anyone to find out, so far I have only told my boyfriend and my parents because they are financing it! I really do not want anyone to find out about it!

I just did the same on the 29th of september! just got my blood work done yesterday and need to get a docs referral, got my official consultation with the surgeon on the 14th of october! its all going so fast... its scary yet exciting isnt it?! im getting mine done by prof.Paul O'Brien, which is why I am a bit more relaxed, what about you?? where abouts do you live? Just went for my initial consultation last thursday... first proper consultation with the surgeon on the 14th of oct! and surgery booked in for the 28th of nov... as of now atleast!! I am freaking out!! excited, but scaredddddd!!!!!
