Stuck Episode - Advice Anyone?
Lapbandster replied to bandedsinger's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
When i'm stuck and keeling over in pain I try forcing water down (even though i'm not thirsty and am sliming) because water will fill my esophagus till my throat and trigger a gag reflex until a throw up whatever is stuck I sure hope i'm not hurting myself/my band by doing this -
Chicken breast is tough, and my surgeon warned me of that from the beginning Dark chicken is OK, but as Hely88 has pointed out, it's all about how you cook it and how you eat it (small bites) Crack pots are a good thing because the chicked gets really moist and soft in there because it sits for hours

one month post op =(
Lapbandster replied to JennB1869's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
1) It is totally normal to not lose/or gain weight before you have a fill! It's called "bandster hell" DON"T beat yourself up for it 2) I don't want to be dissing your surgeon or anything but I think if there is another surgeon in that practice you should see someone else. If he makes you feel uncomfortable you'll never wanna walk back in there again- which is very bad for your bands health! -
Fairly recent surgery, now problems after salmonella poisoning :(
Lapbandster replied to AllyG1973's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Has the Salmonella caused you to vomit? Unfortunately you could have a slipped band. Call or email your surgeon tonight and see what he says- He may want to see you before tuesday I am glad to hear you can keep down liquids though! -
2 weeks post op need a little advice
Lapbandster replied to Wickedgirl7's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Another thing to remember, and i remind myself this all the time, is that the people who are losing SO much more weight than me probably had more weight to lose from the start. someone weighing 244 lbs (like me) will lose a lot slower in the begining than someone who weighs 400 lbs -
You look GREAT! And btw, i remember when I was brand new to this site I loved reading your posts! (Havent seen ya here in a while, but thats probably because I haven't been as active as I used to be)

It's no big deal. Dont be scared and don't be shy! Ask your doctor all your questions! It's a little pinch, can you handle bloodtests? It's even easier than a bloodtest because you don't see the needle and no blood...

Lapbandster replied to Lapbandster's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
SO SO glad!! Even though i still have some heartburn, i feel better knowing i got it checked out ! BTW, have you ever heard of getting an unfill the way I got mine? (with the saline spritzing out into the syringe as i drink?) -
Heartburn issues
Lapbandster replied to Lapbandster's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Ran to doc and he basically put the needle into my port, then I sat up and chugged a glass of water. 3-4 droplets of saline spritzed into the syringe and he said that the water going through my esaphagous forced some saline out of the band. So I hope it's all better now (hard to believe that so little could make a difference...) When I left I still had some lingering heartburn, but he said it's not something that's worrying him- it's probably just irritation. -

Do you have any other symptoms that accompany you when you're too tight? or just the heartburn -
Heartburn issues
Lapbandster replied to Lapbandster's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My doc just emailed me back that he wants to see me asap (even today) :o Now i'm really nervous! 1) How can I suddenly be tight? 2) ESPECIALLY if i don't feel otherwise sick, and can keep my foods down ok? I don't wake up at night with acid or slime in my throat, just a low grade faint heartburn. Hely88, are these your symptoms? -

Thanks Wow now I just got really nervous! -
Thats what I figured I'm thinking of doing this surgery (I already have some skin hanging by my lower abdomen, but I'm deathly afraid of general anesthesia :o )

Good device that counts calories and monitors heart rate suggestions?
Lapbandster replied to Lapbandster's topic in Fitness & Exercise
Thanks Catfish! I will PM him -
What is the pubic line? I think I can guess what it is, but a quick google search didn't confirm my suspicion
-
Interesting thread... I wonder if my BCBS will approve this if I lose 100 lbs This is done under general anesthesia I assume?

You need to follow your doctor's orders, but also be realistic. If you cannot follow his diet then you gotta go discuss it with him and try to figure out an eating plan that works for you and will be healthy for your band I too, was told to avoid soup as it's empty calories, but honestly I cannot always do that, so I told my doctor and he said OK just be careful
