Good device that counts calories and monitors heart rate suggestions?
Lapbandster posted a topic in Fitness & Exercise
So I want to buy a device that will count my calories, track my activity/fitness levels and monitors heart rate (for accurate calorie measuring) The Fitbit doesn't monitor heart rate and how could it track my activity level while i'm, say, riding a bicycle? Is there a good device out there other than the fitbit? -
Noticing the loss
Lapbandster replied to utkscvol1's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Honestly, I didn't notice anything till I lost 40 lbs BUT, everyone else saw it! It was nice getting compliments I really started noticing when I would shop and not have to buy sized 20-22, but rather 14-16 My biggest regret is not taking pictures of myself before surgery for comparison -

Lapbandster replied to Lapbandster's topic in Fitness & Exercise
Did you buy a heart rate strap separately? or does this device monitor heart and caloric burn on it's own? I see it on ebay for 159.00 on ebay and free shipping! i think I will get it! Is this something I can wear all day? -
Isn't that the most awesome feeling!!?? As others have said, keep one pair of your largest pants so you can try it on throughout and see how far you've come!

Yah were here for you! Good luck!

Today I was browsing the site and I noticed an ad that showed a picture of a woman's (extremely large) rear end with the words "give ugly girls a chance, they need love too!" (website: f-sluts.net) uhhh... I was kinda offended!! I quite frankly would expect more class from a website like this

Personally I would see another gastro doc As mis73 has stated, he likely doesn't understand the band

My doctor told me that the way the pouch stretches is if you get stuck for a long period of time and the food just sits in your pouch. A little stuck episode isn't bad, just if you stay stuck for a long period of time. Thats what my doc saud, but every doc varies a bit...

MY PCP's REACTION TO MY WEIGHT LOSS

Wow, I'd also be bummed out! Next time just tell him that if he has nothing positive to say about your weight loss then he should keep his mouth SHUT! -

50 pounds down.... So insecure.
Lapbandster replied to TattooBeauty's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
It's really hard! In the past I used to hate dating and getting all "dolled up". I thought this would magically change once I lost the weight, but now i'm down nearly 60 lbs and still struggle. I always feel insecure and still feel like the "fatso" I still wear clothes that are too big on me, and get nervous shopping (I remember with shame how I used to shop in the oversized sections of stores or shop at specialty stores like lane bryant for big clothes ) It takes time for our minds to adjust to our new bodies and behave accordingly. I am very confident that given time, we will start feeling more comfortable with our new looks! -
I also LOVE that I know longer have any arch pain in my foot!

Whooo hooo!!
