First Stuck And Pb Right After 1St Fill
Lapbandster replied to csking's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Its common. Sometimes it's trial and error. When you have a bad reaction to foods just don't go near them again -
I log my exercise because I need to see how many times per week/how many cals I burn per week from exercising. It is very encouraging to see how far I've come in terms of fitness/activity. I love it But I ignore the extra calories they add.

Be Honest- Is Banded Life Hard?
Lapbandster replied to ireallywannabthin's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Yeah, its a little tough especially in the beginning when your'e figuring out what foods you can tolerate but the rewards FAR outweigh the nuisances (getting stuck sometimes) I am down 30 lbs in around 3 months. I have NEVER lost weight like this before the band and i'm LOVING it!! Today I ate bread too fast and felt sickly for 10 mins following. Sure it sucked but now I know better! So far no regrets -
Carb Cycling- An Experiment Gone Right!
Lapbandster replied to DELETE THIS ACCOUNT!'s topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Thanks for the info Missy! And congrats on your awesome weight loss success!! I'm gonna try to carb cycle this week and post how it goes... I as well NEED to have numbers- I need to know what "low carb" and "high carb" days should consist of. Estimating has never worked and I dont have good intuition with these kinda things -
Sounds like your band may have slipped. I have had my band for 2.5 months and have had no acid reflux/sliming/pb'ing etc (knocking on wood) As I eat if I feel like some food is making me slightly uncomfortable I either slow down or stop eating till I feel better. My weight loss has been decent and i'm loving this so far

Uch no loss this week Not sure why...
-
Wow I feel exactly the same way. Whenever I get compliments I feel very queasy and usually don't believe it. I assume the person just complimented me to "be nice" Makes me feel awkward and also since I don't really notice my weightloss it seems untrue/not possible. I still thank the complimenter but walk away uneasily from him/her I never really give weight compliments to other people because I assume it will make them uncomfortable

If You Have No Restriction...
Lapbandster replied to Banderina's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Some docs fill the band to various degrees during surgery so that may be why u feel some restriction in the beginning (which is great, no bandster hell!!) -

Should I Go For A Fill Alone?
Lapbandster replied to Jlynn217's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
It barely hurts honestly My doc didnt numb the area and it hurt less then getting a blood test. I had one fill and drove home 65 mins alone and had absolutely no issues! I don't think you'll feel light headed since your not gonna lose any blood! -
Trouble With My Band After Revision - Did My Surgeon Just Try To Upsell Me?
Lapbandster replied to neekoal's topic in Revision Weight Loss Surgery Forums (NEW!)
I love Missy's answer and agree with it all. Just to add some advice, when you start looking into Dr.'s and get names, search the name on this site. You will likely get thread(s) of information on them and you can message the members who have said they used him/her Before committing to my doctor, i did just that. I found others on this site who gave me very good advice/recommendations I'm so sorry to hear your story and your doc sounds like the pits. After hearing about True Results on here, I would never recommend that anyone use them BTW, try finding a doc who ONLY does lap bands. mine is exclusively a lap band surgeon and therefore knows THE INS AND OUTS! And he truly believes in it. He will do everything in his power to make it work and I doubt he'll say "ok give up- it's sleeve time" -

Lapbandster replied to lisaholland73's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Thanks!! I love these challenges because when I look back at how much I lost i can really internalize my success. As opposed to weighing myself everyday and then getting discouraged that the scale barely moves -

Brittle Nails; What Should I Be Adding To My Diet?
Lapbandster replied to tiggergramma's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Add Protein to your diet when possible Take at least 2500 mcg of Biotin (an over the counter vitamin) once daily The biotin takes a few months to work (usually 2) but if you take it consistently it will work, just be patient -
no musical cheeks for me thank goodness

Sick And Tired Of People Being Rude/discouraging
Lapbandster posted a topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I'm so so agitated from my family. Whenever I tell them I lost some weight I get very hurtful responses "that's ALL you lost"? or "You only lost 24 lbs??!! I thought you would have lost 30 by now" It's mainly my mother and i'm really beginning to resent this  BTW, I have only been banded 2 months and had one fill. I am a very slow loser in general so to me this is an OK amount of weight loss I'm working my @$$ off to make this surgery work and she's so discouraging. BTW, she had gastric bypass and the pounds literally flew off so she's very not understanding.
