Does anyone know, when chris says to eat 5 meals a day, can they be light snacks spaced out every 3 hours instead? (example: small light yogurt, light string cheese etc) Thanks in advance -
YOU GO GIRL!!! You are so brave that you're able to b honest with yourself. Thats the #1 thing to do when trying to get back on track Thanks for posting this, it gives us all encouragement

I'm taking the target generic chewable once-a-day vitamins, but they're SO GROSS!! literally i gag from them I would take a swallow pill, but i noticed some brands are massive. Are there any brands that have not such humongous pills?

I agree with everyone's insights Just to add, I think its somewhat normal for your band to need tightening while you're in the losing stages (you lose fat around your esophagus too, so the band can feel looser). So either way, ask your doc and see if you need a fill. good luck!

wow I feel exactly the same way! I used to go shopping with my sisters and while they got cool clothes in normal stores/normal departments, I had to slink away to the large size departments. It used to suck big time having to be the only one unable to fit into normal sizes. Now I suddenly feel awkward and strangely out of place in the regular departments. (but that may also be because I barely fit into the normal size clothes, and i'm sort of teetering on the edge of both depts) Give it time girl! You'll stop feeling bizarre and you'l truly enjoy it!

I don't think I'm at proper restriction but nervous to get another fill
Lapbandster posted a topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Hey everyone! I was banded on August 17th and have lost about 40 lbs (I couldn't be happier!!) My first fill was a while ago and went smoothly, although no restriction was achieved My second fill was about 3 weeks ago and I don't think I have restriction yet, but I do rarely get stuck (Usually because I ate too fast. It's a learning process and I'm just trying to be patient with myself). My 2nd fill was extremely painful, although I have no idea why. I'm not the type of person who freaks out from needles or anything but this was insane! So now i'm a bit apprehensive of another fill 1) because i'm afraid of the pain 2) what if my stuck episodes are much worse/frequent? -

like!!! Also, he mentions that its really easy to cook foods in bulk and then just store in a portion sized container. For me that's a great idea becuase otherwise i'm way to busy to cook healthy foods and i wind up eating awful things. Any ideas of whats a good low carb meal? I don't eat fish, but I have made grilled chicken breast and those sorts of things. I also cut up fruit (for high carb days) and have little packets of nuts prepared Any other ideas? -

Skimmed through this topic and to be honest I do see some immaturity on here, but its only like 10% of the time the other 90% of the time I see a lot of compassion and and helpfullness towards others. But that annoying 10% of the time REALLY SUCKS!! Happy holidays everyone

BTW, does anyone follow his exercise regimen? I didn't have time to read that part yet, but the illustrations seem interesting I go to a gym 3-4 times a week and do both cardio and strength training but I don't use a trainer, I just do "my own thing". Maybe his exercise techniques are better than what i'm currently doing -
After losing lots of weight, does anyone have issues with their port showing?
Lapbandster replied to Lapbandster's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Ladies, do you find that you have issues wearing tight tops? I would hate to have a great body but have to worry about having to wear loose tops due to the noticeable bump -

Just borrowed the book and read most of it Very interesting One other thing (dunno if it's been mentioned here) is that a major key is the 5 meals/day (eating every 3 hours) this boosts the metabolism and gets the body burning more I believe he categorizes low-fat string cheese into the fats category. For me personally, I would put it into the protein category. That's whats cool about this, we can alter it a bit to fit into our lifestyles (he says so himself) as long as we keep to the main rules -

Thanks everyone for sharing your experiences Jachut- that's interesting that u were able to see the port and tubing. Omg! I sure hope my port will be unobtrusive... I asked my doc and he said that there's a possibility that it'll show/stick out, but I guess there's no point in woRrying now when I can't do anything about it anyways -

What a frustrating week! Thursday I was down to 202.8 Saturday I woke up and was 208 what on earth is going on??!! Now (monday) I'm 204 and I guess that puts me -1 lb from last week, so I suppose I should be happy -
This is normal, as your body is adjusting to a whole new lifestyle/diet I know it's tough but try waiting it out, and don't let the hairloss freak you out My advice: Make sure to get adequate Protein Take a once a day Vitamin Take 5,000 mcg Biotin daily Take a zinc lozenge (my doc said zinc deficency can cause hair loss) If it doesn't stop after a few months then get your hormones/thyroid checked out (simple blood test) So far my hairloss slowed down but my hair still has not regrown (hopefully it will soon!)

I didn't tell anyone besides for my sisters and my mom BEST decision I've ever made People can be nasty/hurtful/blunt without realizing it. This is a tough time to begin with, who needs everyone else's judgement??!! MAYBE after i've lost all my excess weight and reach my goal i'll spill, but for now I can do without the judgements/questions that are inevitable when telling other people
