What Do You Eat To Fulfill A 1200 Calorie A Day?
abs6angels replied to Soylabean's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I'm totally digging all this input!!!!!!! Btw, Jachut- what is a bikkie??lol i love your aussie talk -
So I have been at a plateau for about 3 mths or more. About a mth and half ago I started working out, ( 4-5 days/ wk) cardio 50 min on the days i dont meet with trainer or do the workouts he wrote for and 20 min cardio on the days I do train. I know all about the inches coming off before the lbs but i think i should be loosing more than just 3 lbs. Now i will admit that i have been snacking, which is a no-no but I get hungry between meals and starving after the workouts! I really think I need a solid calorie goal to stick with during the day to insure I'm not eating too much or too little. I have tried different websites (webmd, my fitness pal etc) for the amt of cal i need, but they don't apply to someone with a band. Any advice????

I need to be more diligent in my meals and not allowing snacks and crappy food to interrupt my loss. I tried 1000 cal one day- but felt awful during workouts so i may try1200 and work my way down

What Do You Eat To Fulfill A 1200 Calorie A Day?
abs6angels replied to Soylabean's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I think maybe you are eating too many "liquids" (oatmeal and yogurt are liquids) anything you have to eat with a spoon is a liquid and passes thru band quick, therefore being hungrier later- try a solid protein- like a protein bar or egg or something.I'm struggling with the amt of calories i need myself!( see my "ughhh so frustrated" topic lol -
Great advice thank you!!!!

To honk- do you count calories? And how many meals do you eat? Is three oz a number we should all follow? -
Thanks! I know it's my eating some bad things-but damn! I workout with a trainer 3xs a week and do cardio 5xs a week! I really hate counting calories and especially now( with the working out) I'm not sure how many to stay at- but I will if i find the right number

A Realistic Lap Band Success Story, And Some Suggestions!
abs6angels replied to NYC Girl's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
I think ( well i know) my problem is, I'm just not following all the instructions correctly. I will start counting calories (1000/day..300/meal and one 100 snack cause i get really hungry sometimes before bed) and stick to protein- no more snacking between! -
I think it may be time for a new group for all of us in a plateau??? Maybe name it "Help! I'm in a plateau and can't get out!!" lol what does everyone think? We could do like little contests and diet plans and tips and stuff!! Amy

Hello all! I"m wondering if anyone counts calories and where did you find the total number you should have? Also, I'm working out 5 days a wk- intensly so how do I figure that in? Before i was banded,i new all this but now I want to make sure I'm doin it right! Thanks!! Amy
-
OO thank you! ill try 1000,see how i feel then adjust accordingly!
-
roro37- how did you come up with the calories you need to count? I joined that site but not sure how to calculate b/c of having the band and now with rigorous exercise.
-
OMG that's me! Sept 28th,2011 and down 30, i think i need to watch calories-
-
O thank you so much!! I will check it out! Amy

Hello, i got another cc on Monday bringing me to 5cc in a standard sized band. I am having trouble drinking fluids- but i think b/c it's too big of a sip. I can tolerate crunchy things, chewed well, but def not soft unless its baby bites. I thought since liquids pass thru easily I should be ok with a bigger sip???
-
Doh! actually as i sit here, i am taking bigger sips of diet tea and its goin down ok, with just a little like air or something- now i did have a few girl scout cookies- i know i know- not good, but if i could only eat a little i wanted some calories or i would be too tired to move, and i can tolerate them. The meatloaf was a soft type and that had trouble, do you think i need an unfill? or should i give it another day to call??
-
Also, the bubbles that come back up hurt....
-
So i just ate 'meat'loaf (my vegetarian version of meatloaf) and mashed potatoes- ugh could only get down like 5 bites and its a little painful- lolli-i feel like you and now think i should get an unfill as well. Thank you guys for the input- i will call the doc tomorrow. I feel like .5 ccs is so little it won't make a difference!!

Too Tight Or Just Swollen?
abs6angels replied to Lollicatt's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Girl i feel the same!!! I got another cc on Monday, bringing me to 5cc ( standard size band) and my dr said no solids till the wknd, just liquids. i nibbled on a corner of a cracker and was fine- but when i tried to make it soggy in my soup-no way! Give yourself a few more days of full liquids- maybe make a smoothie with your protein to get some calories and stuff. It will get better each day- my husband ( an er/icu nurse) says he thinks im swollen. Good luck mama, o and btw i want to eat up that dog of yours- OMG IS HE CUTE!! My 18mth old daughter immediately pointed to him and said "doggie" lol Amy
