    First Event Tomorrow

I had to go to a toddler birthday party on day six!! I so feel your pain! You could get half cranberry half water from the bar- or take the packets. I did take my own drink to the party. Good luck!

    17 Month Post Op

Inspirational indeed!! The transformation is really amazing! Congratulations- all your hard work paid off big time!!
  5. My vote is go with what feels best to you! Like LMD says, if you get there an think a little less would feel good to go for it! You did this surgery for you.
  6. I'm a freakish label reader! I don't know what I was thinking with this? Maybe I had a coupon and just didn't pay attention? I ate a little cottage cheese and sort-of evened out but ewww... nice early lesson about the evils of sugar! =)

    Surgery Recovery Pain?

I think it is less than a c-section. I spent three nights in the hospital with my c-section. The big difference is you don't have a brand new baby and all the attention and care focused away from yourself with this surgery. The worst think I remember from my c-section was the spinal! The sleeve incisions closest to my bellybutton were the most uncomfortable for me but they are'nt bad at all. Nothing compared to carying a baby!

    I'm In "the Club"!

    good for you!
  9. Oh yay!!! happy dance!! so glad to hear you improving!!! best news all day!!
  10. I had to fill out a three page "finish the sentence" form. Then I talked to the Psychologist for about 1.5 hours where he basically said "tell me your story". It wasn't bad.
  11. Immediately, it was the nausea post-op, other than that my surprise is how easy it's been! I secon'd the energy comment, I have tons too and can't sleep as long at night as I did pre-op (I was getting 9 hours or more and now it's more like 7-8).

    January 2012 Sleevers!

Tif 2.0 - my heart goes out to you. My son is only three so I just told him I was going to the Dr. I did get out a journal I started when trying to get pregnant with him and I wrote to him telling him how much I love him and that I was doing this for the both of us. I went and had my will & trust updated too... Hope your surgery goes off without a hitch! big hugs!!
  13. Yay!!! It is so nice to hear happy stories! I too feel like I've had a charmed sleeve experience. Monday will be three weeks for me and I haven't a complaint (other than the cost of calcium citrate!). I haven't thrown up, had any bathroom troubles and haven't had any bad reactions to anything I've tried to eat (since the yucky sugarfree hospital jello). It is scary to hear about things going wrong. It's like my son- I feel like I hit the lottery twice with a healty kid AND excellent sleeve experience.
  14. Fantastic!!! What an amazing accomplishment!
  15. I just realized I've only been taking half the amount of calcium they want me to take! I ordered some of the bariatric advantage calcium chews and they just arrived. I opened them up and figured I'd give them a try (my insurance nurse thought the chews would be preferable to gummies) and realized I'd have to take SIX to get all the calcium! That means it's a 10 day supply! I paid $38 and change after shipping for three bags. That's more than a dollar a day for calcium alone! I guess I've got to make up for all the food I'm not buying! After discovering that I needed six, I looked at the bottle of the gummies I'd been taking and they were 500 units per serving but a serving is two, not one! OOPS!! I've only been taking three a day. Now I need to look at the B12...
  16. So happy to hear you're doing so well! I had a great experience too! It's kind of sad that we have to get so heavy before insurance cares enough to help.
  17. Each day gets better and it's crazy to exist on 300 or so calories a day for a week+ but I lived through it! You'll do great! I did have an easier time with warm things and didn't like anything too sweet.

    Calcium Oops!

I would totally by the bulk chews at costco but it's calcium carbonate and my surgeon is very specific on calcium citrate, not carbonate. I need to google the difference between the two...

    Scoot Over People!

So glad to hear you're home and doing well! The nausea was a big drag but after the first 18 hours it passed. Hope it's the same for you!

    Fab 40's shout out

Hi David & Nance! Things are kind-of quiet here. Wouldn't it be nice to loose 5lbs a week until goal!? My sleeve is pretty recent so the lbs are still coming off faster than I'd have thought (knock on wood!). I'm bracing myself for a stall because this week I add some mushy foods and have two weeks of mushy that started Monday. I never tried thinned oatmean or cream of wheat but I've had boiled eggs, greek yogurt, a custard bake I made with tofu and pumpkin and I made some chili with chickpeas, lentils and split peas. I've pureed half of it and froze the other half for later. So far I've had a fabulous experience- easy post-op, minimal pain for the first couple days and I haven't had any trouble with anything I've eaten- no barfing at all.
  23. I have five and the same one between and just below the boobs! I didn't have a drain. I think three are the camera holes and the two larger ones are the working holes. I remember the nurse telling me that the one the stomach comes out generally has the most pain and bruising. If that's the case, the one just to my left from my bellybutton is the "exit wound". I'm over two weeks out and that spot is still bruised!
  24. you guys are going to do great! see you on the sleeved side!!
