  1. Oh I get it! As I type this there are bagels & cream cheese, at least two types of Cookies, a box of doughnuts and a pound cake about 6 feet from my office door. Office birthday... I brought two quiche so there's at least some form of Protein out there! I've limited myself to a couple little "wings" off an old fashioned doughnut but it's so easy for me to think to myself that I've already trashed the day, why not eat this or that? The thing I have to never, ever buy is cheeze-its. I love them, they go down so easily and I'll snack on them all day if I don't watch myself. I'm still getting pretty sick if I do too much sugar. I think I actually get dumping if I eat too much sugar and eat it on an empty stomach. I hope that lasts because it keeps me from eating it most of the time! Also, sweets leave a bad after taste in my mouth these days. That's a nice deterrent too so far!

    Sex?!?!?!?! Omg Someone Help Me?!

This is hysterical and I totally get it because I'm feeling nearly combustible most of the time - meaning if I'm awake! Seriously trying to tempt my former FWB to take work up my way... I even have a list of sorts in my head of friends I could proposition! And it's not my cycles which have always been like a clock and are still like a clock. Hope the hormones settle down soon or I get the nerve up to proposition a friend!
  3. Congrats on your darling son! The breastfeeding will really help with the weight loss. I think I got down as low as 240 when I was nursing (got pregnant at about 250 and I think I was around 280 when he was born- all the weight gained in the last 1.5 months!). My body is way different since I had a baby. I'm about 217 today and at 217 pre-baby I was not as thick through the middle as I am now. From about an inch above my belly button to about 3 inches below is just thicker around, darn it! I also have a lovely flab roll hanging over my c-section scar... so not pretty! Nor are all my stretch marks but I wouldn't trade them for my son!
  4. The larger incision will heal slower. Is it red or irritated around the incision area? Is it seeping any liquid? Is it oddly puffy, like there's Fluid behind it? Yes to any of those and you might call your surgeon to check in. You might call and check in just to be safe. I have five incisions, two larger and three smaller. The closer to my bellybutton, the longer they took to heal.

    Wow, So Many Changes

Wow - you look just incredible. What an amazing accomplishment! Congratulations!
  6. Could it be from keitosis (sp?)? I was reading something online that mentioned dieter's breath, especially from high Protein diets. If it is thrush, it could be from the antibiotics during surgery. Have you called your surgeon's office? They'll probably have a good answer for you.
  7. It started to hit me about one month post-op. There's no delicate way to put it but the libido all of a sudden woke up. Really annoying when you're single. I had an almost teary moment this morning when I went to put on a shirt I'd been waiting to wear and I was swimming in it. It went straight to the donation pile and I'm not quite ready to face the fact that I probably need to get rid of a third of my shirts...
  8. I'll have three months soon and I'm down 50 since surgery (no pre-op diet for my surgeon). I just had my check-in with the surgeon yesterday and am very pleased with the way things are going. I finally asked about a goal weight for me and told them I've been thinking 160. They said that was reasonable and that an ideal goal would be down closer to 140. I'm going to see how it goes because I haven't weighed 140 since I was a Jr in high school and think I'd look like a bag of bones. I've stalled each month in the week before my period but a day or two into it I drop 2-4lbs. Bizarre- but I'll take it! I need to step up the exercise and I've been trying to incorporate some resistance training and abs into my routine. Great work all!
  9. I get it too. Sometimes I feel like "why bother" if I can't have something "good". The slightly twisted up-side to that is something "good" will probably make me feel like crap or make me throw up. I've never been a big Protein eater and that was one of my concerns for post-surgery life. If it wasn't for yogurt and cheese I'd probably have to live on muscle milk light and eeewwwww, what a sad thought! The first few weeks on regular food were hard- maybe even the first month. All that trying to figure out what you can eat, what tastes good and doesn't make you sick... it did get better for me. Nibble on things and chew a lot. I do often take little tiny sips of liquid when I'm chewing meats to make them go down a little easier. My surgeon is not a fan of protein shakes/powders and I just decided to heck with it. If I want to have a Meal Replacement shake for Breakfast because that's what I have time for, I'm doing it. Good luck to you! Experiment a little and try not to get too discouraged. I just pulled out a top to wear this morning and it looked ridiculous it was so big and I almost cried because it hadn't fit for so long and I'd been dying to wear it again... now it's in the donation pile.
  10. Sending healing thoughts your way. I sure hope they get you on the road to recovery quickly and you come back to feeling 100% very soon.
  11. Made it plus (or minus rather) 2 lbs! I love my sleeve!!!
  12. Rootman is spot on! No way would most people think the first pic was you - older sister for sure! You look amazing. Congrats!
  13. Are you male or female? Males seem to loose faster. You're down 26lbs since surgery in the first month and that doesn't seem too crazy. I was the same but I didn't have a pre-op diet so I didn't loose a big chunk before surgery. You're doing great! My experience with starting solids is the weight loss slowed. My surgery was 1/9/12 and I'm down 50lbs. I'm thrilled with the pace so far.

    Proud, Embarrassed Or Horrified?

PROUD. You look amazing. I know for me, the more down I was about myself and embarrassed about how I looked, the more I ate. I never want to go back there again!

    Weight Loss Slow

I too, have different weight starting points with different Drs. My Surgeon's office has me at 267 but that was from my first appointment back in September 2011 and I was 268 at my last weigh in at the office before my surgery. That was the Friday before my Monday surgery. Then, at the hospital, after one day of fasting I was in the 250s! Go figure... I count my weight from 268 which is my highest. If you were 359 before surgery then you're down the 19 your NUT has PLUS the 17 she's not taking into consideration - that's 36lbs! Fantastic!!
  16. I've recently pulled out some of my size 18s to wear- feeling pretty good about it too. Tonight I decided to pull them all out and they all fit! Then I got bold and looked for my size 16s... Guess who is typing a post in size 16 jeans? ME! No freaking way. To top it all off, I'm down below 220. Unreal. 50lbs in less than three months. Who else loves their sleeve?

    Before And After Pic's

A-M-A-Z-I-N-G! What a fantastic accomplishment. Just the inspiration I need to push me back on the exercise plan!
  20. My surgeon didn't have me crush anything. I was able to swallow pills. I'm on levothyroxine and was taking oral meds on the morning after surgery. Not sure about the "take with food" issue because none of mine are like that. They'll likely give you heartburn & anti-nausea meds which may help with the "take with food" part or maybe the clear broth counts as something to fill your stomach?
  21. Way to go!! So excited for you!

    I Am Crazy Hungry!

I had surgery on a Monday and started feeling hungry on Friday or Saturday. I was really ready for full liquids! Now, almost 3 months post-op I'm sort-of only hungry when I don't have enough to do and I'm thinking about food. I do try to eat on a regular schedule because that helps me avoid snacking.

    A Cup Of Soup? :(

Yes, a cup of liquid (not necessarily puree or cream soups) anything goes down easily. I remember in the hospital when they brought my first meal: good size bowl of broth, small juice, popsicle, Jello cup and I was thinking what on earth am I supposed to do with all this? All I'd ever heard was sip, sip, sip and don't ever take in more than 1oz at a time. Boy was I in for a surprise when the nurses were really irritated with me for not eating it all and not drinking the huge pitcher of ice Water they kept refilling! At home on Clear Liquids I'd usually fix myself a 16oz bowl of broth and sip it down slowly but I didn't have any trouble taking it in. I had a stall in week three. It was also time for my period and every month, things seem to stop a week and a half before I get my period, then I start and drop 2-4 lbs over night and start inching down again from there.
  24. I'm thinking about you and hoping for a quick diagnoses and recovery. Big hugs.
