How far out of surgery are you? You might try a bite or two of cheese or yogurt before you try to take the vitamins. The protein will slow down the crash of sugar. I do take flintstones and don't have any problems but they don't taste great!

Srry If Its Random...i'm Just Really Annoyed!
hadouni replied to Sandra_Baby87's topic in The Gals' Room
First, I'm sorry about your missing anniversary fireworks. That's a bummer. I'm one big walking hormone these days so if I had a husband, boyfriend or local Fw/B right now the poor man would be running from me and my demands for attitude adjustments! =) The conversations in this thread are funny! Men don't do subtle and they want to be the hunter but they don't have crystal balls (thank goodness - that could hurt!), so how does a girl get the message across that she's interested without violating their need to hunt and being branded a tramp? This is making me think about the Patches used on cows that change color when they were fertile and ready to inseminate... wouldn't something like that be a nice clear "hint"! =) -
Yes! Every month like a clock... I could just gnaw on my hand all day! Matter of fact that might be what's happening now... =)

Success But Whose Really?
hadouni replied to june13sleever's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
Well, I'm going to say I totally understand where you're coming from! =) I chose not to go public about having WLS, because frankly I was ashamed I needed it and I don't want to have to deal with anyone judging or voicing their opinion about my decision to have surgery. I have a few close friends and family who know and that's about it. I don't think I took an easy way out and I don't think it's easy not eating all my former foods but I could never have lost this weight without surgery. I get a little embarrassed when people make a big deal about the weight I've lost and I tell very few people exactly how much I've lost. People always ask how I did it and for the most part I say that I follow a strict Portion Control and Protein first eating plan which is true but I feel a bit like a fraud giving anyone advice about loosing weight or comparing what I've been able to accomplish (which is fantastic and I'm so, so, so grateful for) to what someone without the tool of VS might accomplish. I get both sides. I'm proud of what I've been able to do but because I'm not "out" about having surgery I feel strange about "owning" or bragging about my weight loss. -
Hahahaha! Take That Ex Boyfriend! Nsv

Good for you - what a great feeling! These moments are worth SO many self-confidence repair points. -
Flintstones Complete chewable (with iron) is my basic Vitamin. I take one with lunch and one with dinner. I also take a mix of calcium supplements. I have some Bariatric Advantage but they're so expensive. I have some gummies that aren't technically the correct calcium and I have some Citrical petites. I'm bad about remembering my calcium. :/

Have you tried strained soups? I found strained progresso soups much more satisfying toward the end of my first week before I was able to move to full liquids. There were a few days I was even drinking two cans of strained soup at a time. I'd mix them with a little broth so they were a little more volume - close to 14oz at a time. I'd just sip them down and if I was dying I'd have another! I was loosing quickly in the first weeks too. Good luck. It's such a short amount of time looking back (NOT when you're in it!!).

Oh do I feel this post! I'll probably get to see an old Fw/B this summer and as much as I'm looking forward to the sex, the thought of him seeing me naked is enough to make me nauseous! And the last time we were together I was probably 20-25lbs heavier than I am now but I didn't have a stomach full of stretch marks, a c-section scar/gut and national geographic boobs! And this is a man who claims to have loved me since I was 19 (holy crap - more than half my life!). So I'll just keep slathering on the palmer's stretch mark oil/cream. I wonder if running really does the tightening people claim... ??? Although if I start running I'll have to seriously announce for no one to call 911 if they see me because I've always sworn if anyone sees me running call the police cause someone's chasing me with a loaded gun! Seaweed wrap anyone? =)

How Often Do You Record Measurements?
hadouni replied to Musharooni's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I weigh when I think about it or when I'm worried! I never did measure my waist or anything and I do sometimes regret that. I'd like to know how many inches have come off along with the 63lbs! -
Ok, don't smack me for even suggesting this but do you get a lunch hour where you could walk for 30 minutes? That's the only place I can see you fitting it in. I used to live in west LA so I feel your pain on the commuting and with kids and a husband to take care of, where's time for you? Could he do the pick-ups/drop-offs some nights so you could go for a walk? I'm a single mom and I have a hard time finding time to exercise too. The only time I can do it is in the evening and I'm often tired and/or want to spend time with my young son more than I want to hit the treadmill. I haven't been exercising for a couple months and I see a real difference in the time it takes to loose a few lbs!

I’M Feeling A Slight Loss Of Control With Grazing And Sweets.
hadouni replied to Itsanewdaycassandra's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I hear you! We had a buffet of breakfast roll crap in my office yesterday and bagels with cream cheese today. I ate horribly yesterday and started out today with half a bagel and cream cheese. I could NOT believe how quickly I was ready for more after I ate that bagel! Carbs are just evil! I know I just need to hope back on the wagon, get back to my healthier choices and let it go... maybe hit the treadmill tonight for sure! -
My son is 3 and he'll forget if I forget. He'll start to ask for Snacks if I don't sit him down for a regular meal. My experience has been that I'm on a pretty regular schedule to feed myself something (liquids, Vitamins, prescriptions, food) so it's pretty usual that I'm doing something for both of us. I don't always eat the same thing I feed him. It depends on what I've made for him.

popsicles, jello, any fluids count as "water" for my surgeon!

What Is With Jeans These Days? Lol
hadouni replied to Lisa821's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Try Not Your Daughter's Jeans. My cousin gave me a pair of these and they go up quite a bit higher than I'm used to but I'm used to the hip-hugger shape. I don't like things around my belly button or higher than it. Used to drive my mom nuts - all my clothes hung around my hips and were (according to her) a size too big! -
Ok.. Soooooo......(Vent To Follow... You've Been Warned!) Lol
hadouni replied to favoredone's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I've been so bad... I'm not exercising like I should. I am more active overall than I was before surgery but my treadmill is collecting dust right now. I need someone to come and kick my flabby booty! I too notice that things are shifting around some and even though I'm not dropping as many pounds as I'd like, my clothes seem to be hanging a little more. I finally broke down and bought a couple pair of size 16W pants. I swear these are my last women's clothes though! Stick to your plan and keep up the exercise. I really look up to you all who stick to your exercise! It'll come off sooner or later! -
Six Months Today :-)

You look so great! Congratulations! -
Refried Beans were a week 3 food for me. I could only eat a few bites though because I didn't thin them down. They were probably too thick for me to eat that soon in retrospect. I like most beans, peas, lentils. I made some bean Soup in my second week and pureed it so it was ok for me in that week. It was pretty good and kept me full. I eat legumes regularly, because they are a good source of Protein and I've never been a big meat eater. Humus is another food I consume on a regular basis. Legumes can give one the toots so if this is something you know about yourself maybe try some gas-x or bean-o?

That's about when it hit me too. I had surgery on a Monday and by Saturday I was ready to gnaw on my hand. I was drinking two strained soups nearly back to back for the last two days of week 1. I was on clear liquids the first week and was able to have "full liquids" in week 2. I was SO ready to add some more substantial soups in. Split pea soup was a favorite for sure in week 2.

When Can You Typically Have Cereal?
hadouni replied to AngieG0410's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I think it would have been at full food for me. I like to snack on cheerios sometimes but I don't eat them with milk. Cheerios and half a whole wheat english muffin are my only somewhat regular grain choices. -
Tuna is the first thing I had trouble with. I've not had the courage to try it since that first time, probably three months ago! I do think it was an eating too fast & not chewing well enough for me but still... that feeling is hard to get past!

I'm 1/2Way To Goal. Where Are You?
hadouni replied to carbgrl's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I hit half way last week and that was a revised half way. My original GW was 160 and now I've adjusted it to 150. Between you and me, I'll be thrilled to see 160!
