Beautyjunkie824 replied to juzmejnee's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am 4 weeks out and my meals are pretty much spot on to this. I haven't had any problems with foods. I usually don't get over 750 cals. I am satisfied all day. About 3oz is max for dense Proteins. I can have 1/4 egg beaters, I tried 1/2 c. but that was way too much, I could only finish half. -

Would you consider WLS "elective"?
Beautyjunkie824 replied to Beautyjunkie824's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Yeah, that is something that I am ready for. She is heavier than I am but would never chose WLS for herself, or any surgery for that matter. I understand where she is coming from, and I would never judge or make her feel bad fir that choice. Being as close as we are and her being the most supportive person I have ever met/had in my life, I thought she would be there fo me as always. At this point, if she is she is, if she's not she's not. I think she will come around. It's funny because the people I thought would've judged or discouraged did just the opposite. So at least I have some very supportive people in my life regardless. 3 more weeks to go! I can't wait! -

Thanks ladies! I needed to hear that. I hope that she will support me. That comment just wouldn't leave me alone! -
A friend of mine (who is very much against my decision to het VSG) told me she considers my surgery "elective". Up there with plastics she said. She thinks it's only good for people who are on their last chance, can't move and are close to death, not me. My starting bmi was 43, I have lost my 10%. She thinks because I was able to lose my 10%, I should be fine. I really took offense to this and it has been lingering in my mind ever since. I just want to see how others might take it. I think sometimes I can be too sensitive.

Northern California Kaiser Patients

I went to my first orientation at the beginning of June in Fremont. Then 2 weeks later to seminar. I had already started working on my 10%. I met goal about 3-4 weeks ago and my surgery date is 8/30/11. Richmond is A LOT faster than Fremont. The surgeon said in general it'd a 4 month process. -
Not too many posting this anymore. I'm in SF bay area. East Bay too.
