  1. Chewable Centrum is my new fav. They also have a liquid version. You can also go to health food store like Whole Foods and get an organic liquid vitamin that may work. Vitamins that are natural have gone down easier with me in the past but since I've been sleeved I stick to chewable and liquid only to be sure I keep it down. And, take it after lunch/before bedtime just to be sure!
  2. Vitamins in pill form have always made me sick. Now I do only liquid or chewable (not gummy). You can get them at the drugstore or vitamin store. Also, I take mine in the evening. See if this will help you too.
  3. Try the GNC Total Lean shakes that are premade. They are really good and don't taste like medicine. I'm very thankfull for them right now. Good luck! Stacy
  4. I'm just a week out and feeling ok, I think. Every challenge that comes up, I try to find a solution so I don't hurt or feel ill. Here are my suggestions that are working for me: Incision site - a heating pad. This has been my god send. I change the settings depending on how I feel. I sleep with it and use it all day when I'm sitting. It has really helped. I'm sleeping on my side now a bit and even on my stomach a little last night (my favorite positon) and can't belive I could do it. For the pain of the incisions I just switched to liquid tylenol and it is really helping me relax and makes sleeping easier. liquids - I can only tolerate room temp or slighly warm liquids. I tried cold and that hurt too much. Take tiny sips and space them apart. I got a little timer that I use and set it in 15 minute increments to remind me to take 2-3 small sips. This is working so I recommend it. Focus first on the Protein shakes. As long as you get them in, you'll be more hydrated. Then you can use broth or other beverage to fill in the gap to get your liquids up. Plain Water isn't feeling good for me yet. Gas - I have Kaiser and they gave me a disolvable prylosic and also chewable gas tables that I take every day. I can take up to 6 of the gas tablets so I space them out and this is really helping. When I start to feel pain or pressure, I lighly rub on my lower chest/upper stomach area and it seems to break it up. These are just things that are working for me. Maybe they will help you too. P.S. I shoudl add that food looks incredable to me and I would just love to eat some french fries or even grapes but I know this can't be. So I look forward to the future when tiny amounts will be there and that will only be what I will any anyway. Just shelve these thoughts away until later down the road! Stacy

    OCTOBER 2011 SLEEVE ROSTER

I'm having mine on 10/17. Only one week to go!!!
  7. I'm going through WLS Kaiser and have my date on 10/17/11. When I had my first appointment with the surgeon, he discussed the options with me and asked which surgery I was interested in. We agreed and it's set. You always have a choice. If you are not a good candidate for one, then they would probably refuse because it's for your own health and safety but you don't have to do anything you don't want to. Good Luck!

    Shoulder pain after surgery

My mom has had several various surgeries and had this shoulder pain from the gas. It's been really painful for her and she says that icing it helps. I'm having my surgery on 10/17 and am expecting to have this as well. Hopefully it won't be too bad. It generally passes in 1-3 days. Good Luck! Stacy
