November Sleevers 2011 Roll Call Shoutouts
VFB replied to 100%Sleeved's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Wow! It looks like everyone is doing great! I was sleeved on 11/29 and I am down 64 pounds. I still struggle with getting in all of my water and protein. Until last week I was having a hard time with anything I would eat. Then it was like someone flipped a switch and it all got better. It was really strange. I really need to be better about my exercise too! I have gotten on the treadmill a few times, but I do need to step it up! Keep up the good work everyone! -
Wife Said, You People Are Getting Payed.

I kinda thought the same thing at first, so I found someone on this board that was from my area and contacted them directly. She had gone to Dr. Aceves in Mexicali and really helped be believe that it was real! I finally called and talked to Nina at Dr. Aceves office and it made all the difference for me! I am almost 7 week out and doing great! I would not trade my trip to Mexico for anything! It was great! Hope your wife can learn to support you. -
I had surgery on Nov 29th with Dr. Aceves, my mom went with me and stayed in the room. I couldn't imagine her not staying with me. They have a nice cafeteria where she ate everyday. It really worked out perfect because she was there to help do whatever. We went walking the halls and outside a few times, it was a little cold when I was there. It was a great experience. I am almost 7 weeks out and I am down 46 pounds since the day of surgery, no complications. I have followed Dr. Aceves' post op instructions to the letter! Good Luck! You will do great!

November Sleevers 2011 Roll Call Shoutouts
VFB replied to 100%Sleeved's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I was sleeved on 11/29 and I am down 31 pounds since surgery. I feel great, but I do struggle with getting all of my Water in. I am eating pureed foods and walking as much as I can. Glad to see that everyone is doing so well! -
I was sleeved on 11/29 and I just started eating mushies yesterday. So for the past two weeks I have had a Protein shake for breakfst, some soup for lunch, protein shake for and afternoon snack and maybe some soup for dinner (if I felt I could hold it). And lots of Water, maybe some Propel Zero. Yesterday I had my first egg and couldn't eat the whole thing. Last night I had some Pintos and cheese from Taco Bell, it was really good, I only ate maybe 1/3 of it. I think I am afraid to eat to much!

What To Expect With Dr. Aceves
VFB replied to SippNSotaGirl's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was there on Nov. 29, 2011. My cell phone worked great, no international charges. My mom went with me and hers worked good too. Dr. Aceves will call someone after surgery for you. The hospital is the cleanest I have ever been in, and it is literally one block from the border. You can see the fence from the hospital. You will do great, Dr. Aceves and Dr. Campos check on you about 3 or 4 times a day along with other docs. The nurses are great, they don't speak much english, but they will try their best to figure out what you are asking. You will be in great hands! Good Luck!
