Hi Everyone, Today I was doing yoga with my students at work and I had a pain in my left side of my stomach every time I stretch. I had the same pain when I was trying yoga on Wednesday with them. I'm 3 weeks post surgery. is it too early to be stretching my stuff? Is that supposed to happen?

I'm 4 days after my surgery...I've been on liquids but today I'm hungryyyy...any good ideas for something to fill my tummy?

Hi Everyone, Well tomorrow will by my 12th day with the band and I am feeling sad. I only went down 2 KG. Now i weigh 77KG. I feel for the past 2 weeks, I've barely had a decent meal and still not achieved any big change in my weight. Many people talk about how they lost so much weight in their first and second week. But, I just sometimes wonder, when is my turn :-( I know I will loose the weight in time..but maybe I'm just getting carried away. I know it isn't a magic band. I just really wish I can see a 60 something number when I step on the scale. I can only tell myself, that maybe my period is coming soon...so perhaps I am bloated? ..really? sighh :-(

Hey everyone, I can't thank you enough for sharing your experiences. I know now, that I am not the only one going through this. This whole experience is really life changing...slowly!!

Hi, I had my surgery done 2 weeks ago and now I just want to have a doctor in case of emergencies here in Tokyo. Does anyone have any referrals?
-
Thanks everyone for being so supportive. HUGS! I guess it's just that I felt it would come off easy and quickly...but it's taking forever. I am trying to count calories. I'm just not gonna step on the scale for a few days. The scale is freaking me out!

Do you know a Lap Band Dr. in Tokyo??
P.chan posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hi, I was wondering if anyone knew a lap band Dr. in Tokyo? I did my surgery in Korea, but I just wanted to have someone here in case of an emergency. -
Hi, I've been a light smoker for a few years now about 3-5 cigs in a day...I had my surgery about 10 days ago. For the first 6 days i didnt smoke. But, it's really hard. I've been taking a few puffs and then putting it out. How are you coping if you are a smoker? I wish I can quit cold turkey...but it is so hard but think about food, being hungry, not being able to eat...and not being able to smoke...

Hi, thank you for your message and support. I guess today, I was taking out my winter clothes and my favorite jacket was tight. I felt to just cry and cry because I have no idea how Iet my weight get so out of control. I feel the person looking at me in the mirror isn't the person I am. I just hope I can get better and see the weight come off. I really do..

Thanks for your support everyone. It is so hard to just quit overnight. But the important thing is we try to cut back. I smoke about 2-3 cigs a day ( maybe more if I am frustrated)...sometimes I didn't smoke any. After the surgery I didn't smoke for about 6 days. But, let's all really try to cut back by one, if you're smoking over 5. Slowly but surely we can do it!

Hi, I had my surgery on September 25th. How long did you waited to get a first fill? What was it like? How much cc's did you increase by? What did it feel like? Is there really a change in your eating habit?
-
Feel better soon. Hang in there. I am also a little over a week and have some chest tightness...Don't drink anything cold...and sip slowly! HUGS!!! Please see a doctor soon.

So, it's my 3rd and isn't it a bit strange that suddenly I have all this extra time. before, I would have to think about dinner, go grocery shopping, cook dinner, do dishes, and all of a sudden, there is nothing of that sort except washing glasses and cleaning my wound.

Hi Everyone, So, It's been 6 days since my surgery. To be honest, I am feeling physically a bit better but I am so HUNGRY. I feel like I get hunger headaches. I have made thick soups..boiling potatoes, pumpkin, carrots and blending everything into a thick soup... I made smoothies too..even using a table spoon of ice cream, just for the extra filling. But, even i can't believe that sometimes I am so hungry, I eat 2 bowls of soup at one time. What on earth is wrong with me??? I feel so guilty and sad for eating but there is this big hunger pain in my stomach. What does that mean? My filling is 4cc. Should I be this hungry? Tomorrow is my day 7. What should I really eat to feel full for a longer time? is it normal to eat or drink a shake/ glass of milk or juice every 1.5 -2 hours? I have been drinking lots of non fat and soy milk. it's given me a bit of diarrhea. I can drink 2 L of water now throughout the day...

Is this Normal? Advice Please!
P.chan replied to P.chan's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Thanks for your advice everyone. I think I am really lacking proteins. last night, I was so hungry, I blended some chicken with marinara sauce and ate that. I wasn't even hungry until about 10 this morning. Then I scrambled 2 eggs for breakfast. I checked online and 2 eggs = 12 grams of proteins...so my mission today is to get at least 60. This whole experience is so new for me. is it more like Atkins after surgery? Today, I will make my first lunch. My doctor said 2nd week, I should have soft foods. Any good ideas for my first meal? I'm thinking fish? -
Hi Everyone, I had my banding done on September, 26th ( 3 days ago). It has been a tough time because initially I planned to get the Gastric Balloon, but then at the last minute I went with the Band. I had my Op done in Korea. The first day was so rough. I had the worst chest pains. I had my doctor remove some saline from the band. I felt really scared about not being able to breathe properly. The worst part was that I couldn't burp! I think that made my chest ache more. I think my body was in shock. It was my first time having a surgery. The past 3 days has been an emotional roller coaster for me. Sometimes, I just cry, thinking why did I do this to myself? But, I'm trying to be strong. I'm trying to just take it one step at a time because every day I am feeling a little better. The first 2 days, all I wanted to do was sleep. Yesterday, I started back working. I worked for just a few hours, but I was really aching after. I'm a teacher. I'm accustomed to jumping around and being active in class, but yesterday I was barely able to sit and stand properly. I think what scares me the most, is my worry of something going wrong. I wish I was better prepared, but I am trying my best. For the past few days, I've been on just liquids.

Hi Tamie, thanks for your reply. But my doctor said to be on liquids and Soups are fine for the first week. For the first 5 days I was on very light soups...only last night, i made this sort of thick potato soup. I believe my Proteins are coming from my soymilk, milk and yogurt. I drink about 4-5 glasses of milk each day..plus 2-3 smoothies. Can you tellme what your eating time table looks like? thanks so much -
I had my surgery done on Monday, but I didn't eat any solid food. I think it's best to be on liquids for the first week. It's hard, i'm hungry today, but just trying to drink my way through it.
