You Don't Know Her Story, So Give Her A Chance....
azquilter92 replied to morthnaprtyfac1's topic in Rants & Raves
I know this is kinda weird, but I decided that if a man wouldn't ask me out when I was heavier, when I get skinnier, and they were to ask me out.i am going to refuse.my personality hasnt changed.my worthiness hasnt changed -
I guess im strange, but I dont feel the Need to hide it. I feel we should be ambassadors for our new life! Tell anyone and everyone who asks. It might very well help someone to make that choice that could change and save their life.maybe they dont know where to go,who to ask or are afraid to ask, being open about it might be the push.they need to do it also. Be loud and proud my children

Plastics on 1/8/13... Recovery is hard!
azquilter92 replied to sid_n_reagans_mommy's topic in Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery
Most if not all insurance will not pay for cosmetic surgery. There are some exceptions, where your Dr documents recurring skin infections etc. then they May pay for part if it. -
You can buy melatonin anywhere, walgreens ,Walmart ,grocery stores it will be in the vitamin aisle. I take 10 mg about 20 min before I go to bed
-
Dumping usually only occurs with bypass patients and usually when they have too much sugar.at least thats what the surgeon told us at group
-
-
Have you tried taking melatonin about 20 min before you want to sleep? I never slept very good before hand, after surgery,it has improved, but there are times I get very frustrated,so ill take melatonin.

I hate this surgery.
azquilter92 replied to alley-gator's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I have a question, because I dont know. But for the people who are self pay, do you go thru all the visits with a shrink and nutritionist? I know that us who go thru our insurance we have to before surgery. Im just wondering if alot of the unhappiness is because they are not fully prepared for all of this before hand. And I would think that going to monthly support groups would help. I am almost a year out and I look forward to the groups, helps alot and keeps you on track -
Alpine punch is what I drank pre surgery and after. But you're right, does need to be drunk ice cold
-
I cant see why that would be the case,if so why would the drs. Tell us to get 40-60 grams per day?

Need to Hear from Others Exercising Hard
azquilter92 replied to MSCoastRPh's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I would agree with your nutritionist about needing more calories. It coukd be you are going thru a stall, your body is adjusting to alot of different things. Dont panic, just keep doing what you are doing,it will pass, good job! -

What to do......?
azquilter92 replied to Jessielynn's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My surgeon told us yesterday at group,he tells his patients throw away your scales and just wait to you come for your check up. You can go thru periods where you're not losing actually pounds, but are dropping inches,so it can be discouraging if you're not seeing pounds dropping -
Reconstructive surgery - skin removal
azquilter92 replied to Looking Ahead's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
We discussed this yesterday in our support group. The surgeon said if a Dr offerred to do multiple procedures at once,RUN the other way.then another woman said she did have a tt, and a boob job and her underarms and something with her hips all done,at one time, she was in an immense amt of pain, her husband kept her pretty drugged up and did everything for her for about 2 weeks. Even after that for the next few Weeks she realized how little she was able to do,how limited she was. So think very carefully about having multiple procedures done at once -
Everyone is different, and it also depends on how physical your job is.i took two Weeks, I am a bookkeeper/ cashier, my first week back kicked my butt
