Thanks everybody!! Yea I had surgery May 2nd I lost 32lbs before surgery and 16 lbs since then!

So I told myself I wouldn't go shopping but I couldn't help it lol I just wanted a few things for summer. I have been a size 20 for so long I think since junior year hs. I tried on a few things and they didn't fit they were too big!!! So I went down to a 18 and they fit but loosely I'm sooo excited I haven't been this size in so long im able to wear 1XL tops and I got an XL dress as well! 43lbs down and I'm feeling amazing :-)

My surgeon tries to get his patients to lose as much weight as possible with a minimal amount of fills towards the beginning..and when weight loss begins to slow more when you're closer to your goal weight he will give you fills more frequently to give it a little push. He told me if I feel as tho I do not need a feel and he and I are happy with the rate of weight loss I can opt to skip the fill at that time.

Hey everyone I'm 3 weeks post op..and feeling great. I am going to be starting soft foods tomorrow. Did any of you have a hard time transitioning to softer foods..? Just curious. If so what kinds of things did you have an issue with? I'm a little nervous about starting to eat more normal foods since these past few weeks have been great! No issues at all..I think the fear of gettin stuck is probably what it is.

I agree with you completely. I'm 13 days post op and I hope I'm not jumping the gun by saying this was such a good decision to make..my hunger did return but I'm on puréed so a little amount gets me full for a long time!! Besides the gas my healing is going so well no issues with eating at all I take my time and I haven't experienced any nausea or even any uncomfortable feelings durning or after eating. I have 2 ccs in my band since surgery. All together I am 43lbs down 11lbs since surgery I couldn't be happier :-)

Hello everyone I'm 11 days post op and I'm doing pretty well no issues with eating or drinking I'm on mushies so I've been doing puréed and drinking fluids and hour after and before...my question is how much fluid is normal between meals like at one time..I sip sip sip no gulping or anything like that but I feel like I can drink alot of liquid is that okay? I just finished off 10oz of water in a few minutes sipping I haven't had any pain or uncomfortable feelings doing this but I'm wondering If I would be doing damage to my pouch...water should slide through If I'm correct???

So I had my 1 week check up today everything is healing well I had a single incision Lapband placement..they went in through my belly button since its super deep lol (doctor said). It's healing well and I feel great..no more gas pains I'm a little sore but nothing to take meds for. I was out and about all day by foot since I don't drive and I felt good. I was okayd to start working out slowly and I'm super happy..I've been missing my Zumba class. Also the dietitian says I can start puréed today :-) so I'm looking forward to more variety and flavor

You know what helped me out with my constipation and gas after surgery was a little metamucil in my crystal light I drank it 3 times Sunday and I finally had a bm monday and tuesday and that's around the time my gas went away since I could finally get it out sorry TMI lol drinkin it too often tho gives me the runs so I only do it when I feel a bit backed up. My nutritionist says its safe to use just mix it in with a large bottle of water I usually make a 24oz bottle of crystal light and add 1 teaspoon Metamucil

2 months here..my job has a 40lb lifting requirement and that ain't gonna happen lol...I'm pretty sure my hernia had a lot to do with my job

Thanks everyone (knock on wood) but I think this gas pain is gone...hopefully. I walked around last evening had some soup took my meds and stuck a Gas x under my tongue and I slept all night no waking up because of gas I was able to release alot of it before I fell asleep..I noticed while in bed I had a sharp pain right under my chest by my ribs so I massaged and massaged for a while and I felt the gas moving and finally got it out!! I'm so happy. You don't realize how painful it really is until it's gone.. I sure hope it stays gone :-) I feel 10x better today!

Hey everyone I'm doing okay I'm 5 days post op and my appetite is like non existent I'm trying to make sure I get in enough fluid (water crystal light protein water) so I don't get dehydrated...but as far as thick liquid and creamy soups i don't feel like I'm drinkin as much as I should. Yesterday I ran a few errands and I think I did way too much so I felt horrible I had 2 sips of soup and I couldn't even finish I tried some yogurt but the gas inside of me is also making me feel very tight so I stop..hopefully the swelling will go down soon and the gas will go away completely soon..yesterday was HELL I'm doing better today with the gas I was able to have 2 bowel movements after not going since Tuesday after drinking a little light apple juice and some Metamucil i also just finished a protein shake I started this morning. I have 2 ccs in my band so maybe that is also playing a part idk

Thanks for the advice. I got the gas x strips before surgery I have been using them since surgery sometimes they work other times not at all..how long did it take for your gas pain to go away?

After walking around the house these past few days I finally got alot out today and most of the pressure is going away..also gasX strips are a must have they saved me during the middle of the night when the gas was at its worst

I'm doing better..not as sore and tender. This gas however is kickin may butt omg it's the worst part for me...I could feel it moving but I couldnt get it out..it made drinking so uncomfortable

Congrats I had my surgery Wednesday the 2nd I'm so happy I've done this gas pain and all

I can't find mine either lol the nurse said he put it on my left side but I feel no tenderness on that side I feel more tender above my belly button I'm going to ask Thursday at my follow up

Did anyone else's doctor put fluid in their band during surgery. He put 2ccs in mine.. I forgot to ask why tho

So yesterday was my Bday!! Surgery went well I had a hernia repaired and a single incision surgery..yesterdy was good just a little sore...today however I feel like I gave birth through my belly button!! It hurts so bad. I'm actually sitting here waiting for my dad to pick me up from the hospital so I can go home and lay down!

My big day is finally here...can't believe it's going down tomorrow lol I'm so excited (not for the pain) but to start my Journey!! :-)

Update!!!!!! Surgery went well I had a hiatal hernia repaired which I'm not surprised about because of the work that I do..I went into surgery around 8:30am and was in my room round 11ish. My mom and sister went with and the rest of the family came later on..my ex boyfriend even came to see me which I thought was sweet. I was having alot of soreness yesterday. But I got up several times to use the bathroom and go for a walk. I slept last night for a few hours but woke up this morning at 5am to pain in the belly button incision. The doctor changed my dressing and gave me some more Dilaudid :-)..so I'm just updating everyone now. I have to do my barium swallow test at 9am and if that goes well I can go home as soon as my parents get off work :-)
