2.5 weeks out and no energy

I just had my lap band surgery sep 24th. I made it back home on the 27th and started taking walks right away. I'd have to 'recover' from my walks for a couple of hours. Just went back to work today, did my elliptical for twenty minutes in the morning and barely made it through the day. Is this normal? When will I get my energy back?? My dr said I needed to exercise an hour everyday.

Thank-you. I think I'm getting obsessive with the weight loss, I lost 10 lbs within the first week and have only lost a pound since. Frustrated cause I wanted to be one if those that lose their weight quickly.

    My Surgery is tomorrow

Rosy, hope you don't mind me asking.. Were you on liquids for a long time? I've been told to take advantage of my honeymoon period and would appreciate some guidance.

    4 days post op

Had my surgery on Saturday. I was expecting a liquid diet for the first week, but my dr said I could have an egg for Breakfast the next day! Had applesauce and yogurt for the next couple days and he said I was ready for solids. I've been carefully chewing and eating very slowly, and seem to be fine. The worst discomfort is from the gas pains in my chest and shoulders. The best news is that as of this morning, I'm already down 10 pounds! I've been trying to lose those ten pounds for two years!! Best of luck!

    My Introduction

See you on the other side! Just got mine done on saturday the 24th. Best of luck, it was really a very simple procedure.
  10. Hello, I had to travel by car for two days to get my surgery done. We live in a remote, northern location and don't have services locally. What a drive back! A lot of the drive, I was looking at different sites. I felt a little lost, not knowing what to eat, not knowing what hthe different pains I was feeling were, I think I need to keep connected with a site like this to get ongoing support. I am 35 years old, a working professional with two young daughters at home. My husband and I have a farm and I have a huge garden. My oldest daughter has started school this year. The best way to describe me since I've had kids is a zombie. I've been on auto pilot for at least the past two years and found myself 60 lbs heavier th an my heaviest weight. Im afraid of this leg of my journey, afraid I won't have th e strength to make it work. I want to be healthy for myself and my family. My dr found that I have a fatty liver during the surgery, I know that has to be corrected. Looking forward to chatting with you, also for any food tips for these first few weeks. I was already eating the mushy foods and my dr said I could move to solids if I tolerate it.
  11. I'm on day 5 and my hunger came day before yesterday. I was worried because I read that you shouldn't feel hunger for the first week. Thankfully, my dr said it would be ok to eat applesauce and cream of wheat and that seems to subside me longer. I had a miserable day yesterday with brief moments of, what did I just do? Today is a much better day.
