Protein Shakes Recommendations
DMScheerMOM replied to Lovemythreems's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Chobani greek yogurt has 22 grams of protein per half cup. 1/2 cup of greek yogurt, 1/2 banana, 3 or 4 strawberries handful of ice, splash of milk or water, blend and strain, YUM!!! I hate the grittiness of the Protein Powder and it is expensive. You can do almost any flavor with the plain greek yogurt. Good luck! -
I bought some crackers, but haven't had enough courage to eat any yet. Maybe in a couple of weeks!

Hi all, I am 8 days post op and I started my mushies this morning. I made 2 very soft scrambled eggs with a tiny bit of low fat cheese and some Sugar Free chocolate pudding. I only made it through one egg and finished 1/4 cup of my pudding. The eggs went down fine, but I was a little nervous eating them. I still don't really get hungry. I just make sure that I eat 3 times per day. I'm still having trouble getting all of my Protein in. The Protein drinks are so filling a disgusting. Hopefully I will be able to get more protein in the foods that I eat now that I am on mushies. I am thinking tuna with low fat mayo for lunch. My menu plan has low fat crackers on it for the mushies stage. How is a cracker a mushie?? Did anyone else eat crackers? How's everyone else doing on mushies? What are some of your favorite, easiest mushies?

I tried the refried beans for dinner tonight. They were delish! I also was able to get all of my protein in without having to drink any nasty protein shakes today. Yay me!!!!!

Yummy! That sounds delish. I will give it a try!

Use the quick cook oatmeal, and then add brown sugar and cinnamon in moderation. Brown sugar has very low calories per teaspoon. That's my fave!

Anyone Have The New Iband Done Yet? (Band Over Plication)
DMScheerMOM replied to Tahneesamson's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I just got mine done on Friday, February 17th. I am five days post op. So far, so good! My surgeon has actually been doing it for a while. Good luck to you! -
Hi, I had my band surgery on 2/17/2012 and I was in pain from the word go. It was very hard for me to get up and down by myself and felt like my stomach muscle was being ripped out. I took it very easy the first several days and am off work all week. By day 3, I felt alot better and by day 4, I was like a new woman. Today is day 5 and I can get up and down as many times as I want with little to no pain. Each day will be better than the day before. Good luck!!

I also had my surgery on the 17th. How are you feeling? -
Thanks everyone. I have spoken to my Dr and he say that this is day 2. I don't have any appetite at all and am not ready for full liquids. I still can't even do jello. It feels like it gets stuck going down However, I feel so much better today than the past couple of days. Getting up and down is getting much easier!
