I'm with the band... Well not really...
I-wanna-be-a-loser posted a blog entry in I-wanna-be-a-loser's Blog
I am scheduled as a self pay for November 30th, 2011. I am 225 pounds - give or take... I am so excited to start my banded journey. I have started listening to my tummy to tell me when I am satisfied. I am breaking a sweat 2-3 times a week. I am eating my protien first. These are the things I am going to do over the next 2 months in preperation for my post-op success.. I need to work on my glass or two of wine at the end of a long day... but that will come with time I guess. I am preping my husband to help him understand how much I will be able to eat once I hit my "sweet spot". He is 185#, 5'11'' and in great shape. He is so sexy... IMO... I am discusting, IMO, but he thinks I am the sexiest woman alive... WTF!?!?!? Has he looked at me lately?? The picture of me on this website is of me two years ago at 170#, yeah I can lose the weight but then I just gain it back + more... Frig! I need this tool to help me keep it off!! Once I work up the courage I will post pre-op pictures of me at 225. Then my goal is to post pictures once a month to keep me on track.. Cheers bandsters!! I cannot wait to be one!! Stacey -

Great story!! And success!! You will be my insperation!! I feel that I am going to be where you were at your biggest if I do not do this now (scheduled for Nov 30th). I am 31 with one boy. 225 pounds. Also grew up "fit" and playing sports. Now I don't even want to think about chasing my little one around... I know that if I was to get pregnant now I would hit 260+ for sure!! I am also on thedailyplate.com or livestrong.com now. Can I add you as a friend to get some insight to your daliy food intake?? I am so excited for Nov 30th!!! -

Hi November Bandsters, When Is Your Lap Band Surgery Date ?
I-wanna-be-a-loser replied to LessyAudra's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
It will not show up on anyone of your friends news feed except yours, and others in the group... no one will see that you are in this group accept the other people in the group. so it is super private - no worries!! -
I think you need to choose actual foods to keep you feeling full rather than drinks that will pass through the band. I am not yet banded but that is my opinion.. Try oatmeal or Cereal for breafast, half a sandwich with protien in it for lunch, then chicken and a veggie for dinner. You need to fuel the body to burn the fat. Cheers!!

Please send me a private message to get added as I do not want my whole circle of friends and family knowing about my lap band decision just yet. Thank you!!!! -
Hi November Bandsters, When Is Your Lap Band Surgery Date ?
I-wanna-be-a-loser replied to LessyAudra's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I am in Canada. Dr. Mitchell is doing my surgery in Vancouver BC. Where the 2010 olimpics were.. He is one of the top surgens in Canada so that makes me feel good. As for needles, that will become a new part of our life... Think of the last one you had. You may have been scared but did it really hurt?? Prob not right. You can do it!!! What is your BMI? how heavy are you? How much do you want to lose?? I am 225ish and want to lose at least 70 pounds.. -

Hi November Bandsters, When Is Your Lap Band Surgery Date ?
I-wanna-be-a-loser replied to LessyAudra's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I think I do know how so I will get on it and post the info here as soon as I getter done. I have told my parents, my husband, two friends with the lap band and my sister. I will tell people if they ask but I am not going to put it all out there. -
I am a lower BMI 37 and a self payer as well. Less hassle and the lap band is something I really want. My doctor also agrees that I should not wait until I get to a higher BMI if I am willing to do the work now. Why get your body into MORE trouble just to be accepted by others for getting the lap band?? I can get to 170 -160 on my own but then I give up dieting and get right back to 220.... Vicious cycle, one that I want to end!! My Dr. is requiring me to do two weeks of pre-op dieting invloving 3 shakes a day + low glycimic veggies. I cannot wait for November 30th to get here!!! I also get the "your to small for the lap band" comments, but I figure when I get to 150 or lower (my goal is 140) the same people will say I look great. I am sick of being the biggest girl on my hockey team, or the biggest mom at swimming lessons, etc. Do whatever you feel is best for you!! The nay sayers will think you look fabulous in the end no matter what!!

Day 2 of pre-op liquid diet and ?'s...
I-wanna-be-a-loser replied to cbreeden28's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I haven't started my pre-op diet yet as my surgery is Nov 30th. But I am only aloud 3 medifast shakes and low glycimic index veggies (up to 2 cups). I am nervous that I will be hungry... -
Hi all, I am just wondering what made you choose this new journey?? I eat healthy foods, but way to much at each sitting. Is that a good reason?? I am 225# 5'4'', 31 years old. Thank you!!! Stacey

Why did you choose the lap band??
I-wanna-be-a-loser replied to I-wanna-be-a-loser's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
That sounds just like me!! I have breakfast (high fibre Cereal and milk) then a snack (cheese, or granola bar) then lunch (tuna sandwich, or fried egg sandwich, or something like that) then supper ( huge portions of what ever healthy food I cook. like Baked chicken breast, carrots and baked sweet potato fries make from scratch. I would eat 1.5 chicken breasts, 1/2 cup carrots, 3/4 cup fries) Then evening hits and I am hungry again.... so popcorn, trail mix, whatever I have in the house.... BAH!! I cook healthy (5 out of 7 days a week) I just need the tools to eat less of it!!!!!!!!! like a lap band and a small plate!!! lol. I am so glad to have found this board!!! I am going to add you to my "friends" on here if you do not mind. I am scheduled as a self payer on November 30th. and that day could not come sooner!!! -
So people are saying you have to work the band. What does that mean? I am not trying to be an idiot but from what I understand is that you will feel fuller sooner and eat less. Is that it? Or am I missing something?? I am scheduled for surgery on November 30th, 2011 and am trying to get all the information that I can. I am currently 225 pounds, 5'4'' and 31 years old. I eat healthy foods 75% of the time, just too large of portion sizes. (the 25% would include going out for dinners, ordering pizza, etc, once a week ish) I excersize. Not at a gym because I hate that. But I play volleyball once a week, soccer 2 times a week, and mom and tot swimming 2 times a week. I used to run 5km and 10 km races but havent since I got bigger due too sore ankles, knees, etc. But I plan to get back into that when I lose some weight too. Any help in explaining is much appreciated. Thank you, Stacey
