About Me

  • Gender
    Female
I'm not one of those people who has been heavy all my life.  I gained weight after meeting my husband. Don't get me wrong, I was never twiggy.   I always had an extra 10 pounds on me.  While dating, we just enjoyed going out to dinner, having a few drinks.  Eating in, watching movies.   After being married for 5 years, we found out we were having trouble conceiving.  After several years of fertility treatment and two beautiful children, the emotional rollercoaster had taken it's toll.  I could not seem to lose the weight gained for each pregnancy.  The older I got, the harder it seemed to lose weight.  Add an under active thyroid into the mix and I ended up about 100 pounds over weight.   I don't know how it happened, but it did.  I found myself with high blood pressure and a basic bleak outlook for seeing my kids into their teen years unless I did something drastic.  I tried weight watchers, optifast, medifast, zone, adkins and my own diets.  I would lose 30 pounds or so each time and ultimately gain it back.  I needed a long term solution, something I could live with.  Lap Band seemed to be the answer......  Let's hope so!!!!
