FINALLY! I have found not one but TWO things I **HATE** about my sleeve.
Yasman replied to LipstickLady's topic in Rants & Raves
@@LipstickLady I appreciated your colorful, creative and restrained word choice with "the milk and muffin 'revisited'". I am in the south, Florida, and am just about 4 months post-op now and I'm noticing the cold factor here. I used to keep my air conditioning on supercold (68 degrees maybe in-home) year-round but since the surgery I'm noticing I get cold on the couch or in bed even though I'm now keeping the air closer to 74 or 75. Lately fall weather has finally caught up with us down here and we are having cool breezy afternoons and I'm thinking its time to buy a coat because brrrrr. -

Any 2014 July Sleevers out there?
Yasman replied to crazykim's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
@@SherB good point! I guess I will look at it this way... 47 lbs lost of 204 lbs to lose means I've already lost 23% of the amount I want to lose. In just under 4 months! -
Any 2014 July Sleevers out there?
Yasman replied to crazykim's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
I got sleeved in July 2014 as well and am down 45-47 lbs i just can't seem to make it to the 50 lb mark, myself. I am exercising 4-6 times per week and getting all my protein in mostly by diet alone although I also sometimes use protein powder to help me over the hump. Good luck to you ladies! We can do it! -

What was your most recent NSV? (non-scale victory)
Yasman replied to tamg26k's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
walked 2.5 miles today (slowly...but a constant 1.5 hours) with a friend... back in july I couldn't make a mile without feeling like i'd need an ambulance to take me home. also, got a really nice compliment from a friend today... he said you could really see me losing weight and I look good. -
walked 2.5 miles with a friend today... couldn't do that just a few months ago. I'm just thrilled!

I'm in West Palm too. I had my surgery at JFK Hospital in Atlantis (aka lake worth) and the team has been very professional and well organized and friendly to boot. They have a monthly support group held at JFK run by a therapist every second tuesday of the month at 6:30 pm if you are interested. this month they are doing a Protein extravaganza with things to taste and recipes if you like it.

this has been happening to me too. My favorite swim-attire is a swim skirt matched with a tankini top. But now I have had to switch to a one piece because every lap I have to figure out how to pull my skirt-piece back up and the top down and it's all a kerfuffle. I'm still self-conscious about the one piece but it's really nice not having all that drag on the tankini and it makes the swimming even more fun. that said, the one piece is also too big now and i'm just going to have to invest pretty soon in a new swim outfit. more power to you! -
i really love it for its low profile. it doesn't change the texture or flavor of what you add it to. so I use it in my iced tea, coffee, crystal light... it's just great.

Today's weigh in is 315.5... I had gotten down to 313 but I bounced back up. Did not meet my goal but truthfully i had no idea how to set the goal in the first place, so I will just be happy with the weight loss that did continue through this challenge. I've seen to many encouraging and inspiring weight loss others have achieved during this challenge so I'm signing up for the next one, too.

I am also in love with GENEPRO -- I've been using it about a month and a half. Word of warning or bit of wisdom or how ever you want to say it... if you keep your drink with you on the go all day long as i do, do NOT forget it in a hot car or leave it sitting in the hot sun. The Protein powder is beloved by all, apparently, including miniscule flora in your drink. If it smells funky, it is - little algae blooms are beginning to appear and before long you will see the blooms coming out of various bits of Protein Powder stuck to the wall of your drinking cup. This will not keep me away from my genepro... just will make me do a better job of marking where my drink gets left and how much time is going by between "sips" from my shaker-bottle drink which i carry everywhere. Sniff first!

Wow, what a problem to have, being underweight! I'm so impressed by your transformation, and that chart is almost unbelievable. I'm also tracking (charting) my weight loss but for me the data points fluctuate a lot more. My chart looks more like the stock market than yours, which is just a smooth predictable seeming downward slope. I'm just 3 months out fyi so still working on the downward trend. Great work! -

wow what a great job! You look great in all your photos, but there's also been a tremendous transformation - I'm so happy for you! -
homemade iced tea, b asically decaf versions of lipton iced tea or other generic tea from the supermarket; other flavored teas for something differen t(currently a fruit medley); sometimes making a cheap/lazy version of lemonade with those huge jugs of lemon juice from the store plus sweetener and h20. occasionally coffee at home. occasionally 99cent coffee from dunkin donuts. because they do really make good coffee...! (99cents between 3 and 6pm everyday)

Best food for grazing !
Yasman replied to johnsydney's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
a good protein rich snack that is my go-to at night before bedtime when my tummy decides it hasn't eat at all that day, is Calbee's Lentil Snaps or Snapea Crisps. They are like rice-puff but obviously made from lentils and sugar snap peas. they are delicious and one serving is about 100 calories/5+ grams protein. -
Count me in! I will post my starting and goal weights on Nov 7th when we start.

i don't think i'm going to be able to make goal. been bouncing around again with weight lost then bouncing up a few pounds and slowly making it back to the same marker as before. 315 this week. was hoping it would be more. Thanks Susan for doing all this in the midst of a move... talk about dedication! Hope the move goes well for you.

what's the deal w soda? can i ever have it again?
Yasman replied to Jeffrey Eliot's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
i am 3 months out and have had soda on a few occasions and it tasted fine, felt fine, no issues that I could see. That said, I'm not a soda addict per se and can take it or leave it. when I did have it, I mostly drank about 1/4 of the portion poured for me because i was just too full after that and eating the amount I could of the food ordered ... whatever. I just like my great value brand copycat crystal light and the homemade iced tea I make. -

When you're planning your diet, how do you make sure you're sticking to the plan?
Yasman replied to Alex Brecher's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
The right response to the poll for me would be a mix of items one and two. I primarily track Protein, but I do also track calories and the proportions of protein to carbs to fat. I also pay attention to not just net calories but what's happening on exercise days, upping the carbs a bit for heavy workout days.
