Deciding to have a lap band was the best decision i ever made. I was diabetic arthritic, had high blood pressure, needed a total hip replacement, asthma, metabolic syndrome and just plan unhealthy. My post op course was uneventful other than the steady loss of weight. I am 1 1/2 years post band and i am no longer on any medicines other than vitamins. I have had my hip replaced and havent had an asthma attack in over a year. I have a personal trainer and work out 4 times per week. Im learning now to pay attention to my body not to the scale. As fat has been lost, muscle has been gained- muscle weighs more so the weight loss is slower.
One of the issues i found was being able to get the nutrients needed being that the quantity of food was so small. I have found the answer -- please see this website

Good luck--- but if you've made it this far you don't need luck, you already know what you need..... best wishes for a long happy healthy life....!!!!
