This is a POSITIVE POST! What is the best compliment that you have received thus far? - I was in the gym preparing for a 4 mile run on the treadmill. A gentlemen can to begin his workout next to me. He looked at me and "smiled and said hello". I smiled back, and stated my hello. Then he said something to me, and I could not hear him. So, I removed my earphones and said "excuse me?". He repeated himself and staid "IT'S GOOD LOOKING AT YOU TOO". And I was like, uhhhh ok....thanks...lol I'm taking it that he meant, I looked good! Though I had never seen this man before, it was a nice compliment that he gave me in a quick 5mins before his workout....heheehe What is the best compliment that you have received so far since getting your VSG?

Are you loosing "inches" instead of "lbs"?
Sleeve2B posted a topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
STALL, STALL, STALL, STALL STALL...lol Ok my VST family, I am now 7 weeks out. When I reached 3 weeks I hit the dreeded stall! It stayed for 2 weeks and then I got sick with a cold. Because of the cold, I actually dropped 2 lbs. Now, I have been watching the Protein intake; taking in more Water, and yes -- I exercise like a champ in a race. But, my scale would not move. Now, at 7 weeks I hit my 2nd stall. Then one day someone said to me, "You are really loosing alot of weight! Look how small you are getting". Now, in my mind -- "I am stuck at the same ol' 27lbs down (Up\down 2-3lbs from my stall) weight loss for the longest. (yeah, yeah, I know I am still fresh out of the gate..lol -- but like everyone else, I want my scale to move also.) Afterwards, I started to think -- maybe I am loosing "inches" and not "weight". Soooo, I tried on my tightest pair of slacks and they HIT THE FLOOR! ...lol Yep! My pants hit the floor. And, then I tried on my favorite pair of slacks and they were so big, all I could say was "REALLY?"...lol Soooo my question to you VST family is -- If you are hitting a stall, do you think you are loosing "inches" and not "weight"? You'll are very positive. Sometimes, I think something is wrong because no weight is dropping. I exercise very hard. Other times, I say "forget it!". The scale will do what it will do. I love all the positive input that you'll have provided. Keep it coming.... Ohh yeah -- down 2lbs again...hehehe, but still "no" 199. Whooaaa is me, when will I get below 200. -

Too be so close to Onderland, and yet so far away because of stalls -- Well, it's frustrating. I have been going from 204 - 200.5 on the scale for the last week+. I am logging my progress. I want to be in Onderland so badly, I can taste it --but my body says "NO"...lol -

When will my hair loss slow down?
Sleeve2B replied to wondering1's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
VST Family and hair Loss, Allow me to provide you with input that could possibly help. First of all, I have been very athletic most of my adult life. I have been a runner for the last 17 years. I mention this, because being a runner means that you could have a very sensitive stomach (all that bouncing up\down), which I do. Therefore, there are foods that I could not each while partaking in my favorite passtime. Sooooo, I have learned the things that can help with joints and hair loss. Thus far, I am 7 weeks out. I've only experienced the normal amount of shedding. I take Biotin (promotes growth for hair\nails), MSM (promotes growth for hair\nails -- ie. excellent for the joints) and Garlic (stops shedding of the hair). I have been taking these for a couple of years, and I know the affects of each. MSM is a natural Sulfur for the body. Sulfur makes the hair grow. Make sure that when you begin to take these pills, you test your body for any adverse reactions. Start off with 1 a day for a week. If you have no side affects, ie itching\rashes\etc, then slowly up your intake to 2 a day. Try not to exceed more than 3 a day. The liver and only clear out so much at a time, and with the multi-vitamins\hair Vitamins, and Protein that we are taking -- it can only absorb so much. My suggestion is do your research on ALL 3. See what comes up for you. For me, I have gotted 1.5 inches of growth since surgery (9/21). I am also noticing that I am becoming a slow looser also (even with heavy exercise). (On my 2nd stall and it's only week 7 for me.) I am now getting more food in, which means more calories. Hopefully, by the time I am 3 months -- I will not have hair loss as most here have mentioned. I will keep you posted! I do hope this helps Good Luck to you S2B -

ShellBear, Great progress!! Heyy, stay around to help keep me strong. These stalls are just grueling and can place the mind in the wrong perspective! -
I know I am late in responding to the, but I am now 6 weeks out and I have a few grapes. OMG!!!! I was sick as a dog for a minimum of 4hrs. Never again, not until I am at least 1 year or more out.

I booked mine through http://www.beliteweight.com/ they did EVERYTHING! I only needed 3 days off work, so I booked mines in the middle of the week --towards the weekend to have some extra days off, and when back to work on Monday. The only thing I had to take care of way my airline flight. EVERYTHING else was taken care of by the agency, and "No Hotel" needed. Hope this helps

When will my hair loss slow down?
Sleeve2B replied to wondering1's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hello Wondering1, Try taking MSM. It is a natural sulfur for the body. Between MSM and Biotin it should slow that down tremedously. (I've been taking it for a long time now, and granted it is in my system, but it works wonders.) I am going on 2 months post op, and have not felt the affects of hair loss just yet. I'm hoping it stays that way because of the combination of Vitamins that I take. Good luck! S2B -
I have had my 1 month surgiversary from Mexicali. Nice people! Good luck to you both! *Note: I have posted picks from my room during my surgery at Star Medical -- if you can find the pics out there somewhere...lol (I was a newbie, so I can't tell you where I placed them --but there are in this form.)

So Just how long does the 3 week stall last?
Sleeve2B replied to Beth323's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am now 6 weeks out. My stall last 2-3 weeks straight, but dropped 4lbs afterwards. Also, in the mornings my sleeve is very tight and I can not get foods down. So my doc mentioned to me that it is best to drink "warm tea". It helps the muscle to relax. Sooo, first I drink warm tea, followed by several of my Vitamins, then I drink a frozen Protein shake -- wait a couple of hours and I will try to get down yogurt. By the time all of that settles I will eat my full lunch (about 1 cup full of protein\veggies, or Soup, etc.). I will do 1/2 of a Protein Bar around 2pm and by 5PM I am in the gym exercising before going home. What I have learned is that with each week that goes by, I can get more foods down and my body resilence to working out again is bouncing back to normal. The stall is because of the lack of calories. The body is protecting itself in case you are in starvation mode. Hang in there! Eventually, you will get more calories in and your body will begin to release the weight more and more. Good Luck! S2B -
Nurselisa22, I like your attitude! I too am stalled. It began at 3 weeks. Its been hanging around until week 5 thus far. I am dying to get the scale moving again. I work out alot, and am trying to get more Water in, but the stupid scale will not move. Just reading your post peeped me up some. Thanks for the great attitude! S2B

I AM going to get to Onderland!
Sleeve2B replied to ashleyc's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hi Ashley, Good luck to you! I too have reached a stall and it is killing me! Not matter what I do in the gym, my body will not release the weight. I am only 5 weeks out, but gosh -- I'd like to see the scale move. I have been stuck from 202 - 206 for like 3 weeks now! Yike! How do you get the scale moving again? I am up to about 65+ grams of Protein. I am now able to eat a little bit more, but not much. I do protein shots\drink in the morning; lean protein\veggie for lunch, (and if I exercise that day), I can't get anything in the evening but beverage because my tummy is too tight. It all comes back up. (really a waste of food. after 3 bites I am done) Sooooo, if you got the answer, please let me know. Keep me posted. Take care. S2B -

VSG -9/21/11 - Sharing My Hospital Room Experience
Sleeve2B posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hello VSG Family, I had my surgery on 09/21/11 in Juarez, MX. My surgeon was Dr. Jose Rodriguez and staff! Fantastic people!!! I would do it again if I got the same set of people. I am 3 weeks out, and down 22lbs. *Note: My photos have not been edited. They will load up to a large size on your screen. ("Close button is on the bottom right hand side.")They were taken on my cell phone while I was in the hospital, so please excuse any darkness and discrepencies. I get alot of questions like; What was it like? (Great Experience for me) Have you ever been there before? (Nope! Had to get a Passport and everything.) Where you scared? (Of course, but I needed this surgery -- so fear was not an option!) Keep in touch all.. *Note: There were 2 bathrooms in my room. *Note: There were 2 tv's in my room also. -

Sleeve size changing??
Sleeve2B replied to Brockcrawford's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Well, I'm newly sleeved (3 weeks), but my doctor made it clear that on some days your sleeve can be "tighter" than others. I know for me, in the morning my sleeve is extremely tight. The only thing I can get down is warm tea. Per doctore, the warmth of the Fluid allows the muslce to relax. This might be why you'll can eat more some days, than others??? -
post op bowel movement
Sleeve2B replied to Ms skinniness's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
It took me 3 days to have one. Actually, I was still in the hospital when it happened. My suggestion is try a "stool softener". Not a laxative (though some may think this will help). But, with a stool softner it will be easier to swallow and it will have your body perform in a natural state -- not a forced state. Hope this helps... S2B -
what in the world is going on???
Sleeve2B replied to meggspeggs's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A

Hi Ladies, I am 3 weeks out and am going through the same thing. Try increasing your workouts (walk, cycling etc.), and decreasing your food intake by 10%. I am going to try this to see if I can get the scale moving again. I have been bouncing 2lbs for the last week. Doing my best to get to Onederland! 3lbs and I will be there! I think it's just the body adjusting to the new weight, etc. The old "plateau". Sometimes you have to shock the body to get the scale moving again. As far as the hunger, etc. It could just be "Head Hunger". When I first came out of the hospital, ooooweeee I had head hunger like crazy. The foods I was use to, I wanted! But, after wanting that -- I had to tell myself, "My stomach will not hold that stuff". Heck I would PB (and still do) with just too much Water going down too fast, etc. Soooo...sometimes we have to change our thinking to match what our bodies are doing. Hope this helps... If not....stick with asking questions to your PCP. -
I have gone back to work after 4 days post op from surgery. I usually Park~n~Ride to the bus station,. This morning, as I rested on my way to work, I usually pray in being thankful for my day -- and this morning I included in my prayer how thankful I am for this surgery. To become 1 step closer to "Healthy", then all of a sudden I found myself dropping tears. To know that I am getting healthier at this age is great! Don't get me wrong, I am very athletic, but I could never get the weight to drop once I turned 40. No matter how much working out, and eating right, etc.... I have lost 10lbs in a matter of days. Before, I would loose 0-5lbs and gain it right back! From here, the sky is the limit for me! ~ So please, feel free to place your EMOTION COMMENTS both sad\happy. I'm eager to hear. Take care VST Family. S2B

Hello marVal, I am now 3 weeks out and getting a bad taste of acid reflux also. Today, I can upon a solution that works like a charm. 2 tablespoon of Applecider Vinager mixed with 8 oz of Water. *note: it will make you PB or throw up if the is too much blockage in your throat, but it will balance the acid out in your stomach/throat. I did it today and it took less than 45secs to work. I had been PB for like 6 or more hours. I went to work and had to leave because it was coming up every 5 sec. But I did my research before I left, and tried t when I got home. Worked beyond belief. Take care

Did your VSG make you "EMOTIONAL"?
Sleeve2B replied to Sleeve2B's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Ladies and Gents, Hold on to your true selves. Though the emotions do subside, there are other avenues that we must prepare ourselves for..... Like - those unusual comments that people are making about or weight loss. Hummmmm you are getting skinny. What are you doing Weight Watchers? HCG? . Hummmm don't you think you are loosing too much? - <humph> she don't look good little.... Come on people chime in with me--make yourself feel better, because we know people love you fat and are jealous of you when you get thin--not to mention down right hate you when you become Skinner than them (but don't know how you did it...lololrofl)
