    Need advice from vets, HELP!

This doesn't seem normal to me. I am two years out and if a person did not already know that I've been sleeved, they would not guess by watching me eat. I can eat a whole sandwich if the filling is not dense Protein, or a bowl of Soup or chili, or a slice of pan pizza. There are only a handful of foods I should avoid because they make me uncomfortable, but I have only thrown up twice in the two years. Lettuce is one of the things that I can't eat. I have no suggestions for you except to see your surgeon. Wishing you the best, and let us know how you get along.

You're in great hands! Best of luck!
  4. I'm two years out and holding steady at my desired weight. I am always mindful that regain can happen. I repeat, mindful, not worried. I weigh every day, and of course I see fluctuations of a pound or two. When that pound sticks around more than a couple of days, I make sure it goes away NOW before it turns into two pounds. I've said many times on this forum that the sleeve works if you do. Keeping the weight off comes from the desire and commitment to keep it off. There are lots of folks, like your friends, who can lose weight but will regain. There are also lots of folks who lose weight and keep it off. I intend to be one of the latter.

About two weeks before surgery he has you go on a protein shake diet. He permits addition of solid lean protein in moderation to help keep you satisfied, such as meat at dinner. He is very reasonable in all his requirements.
  6. I am two years out and don't follow the rules, but like Queen of Crop, I eat sensibly. I no longer track Protein and carbs, but I remain aware of the general balance that I should maintain. I do eat sweets daily, and have a couple of alcoholic drinks on Saturday evening. I never eat a big meal, but have several small meals each day. I have never had the soda habit. If I tracked I think I would find that I eat more carbs than I think. Fortunately, I have no desire for rich fatty foods such as cheeseburgers, fries, milkshakes. I'll take a baked sweet potato, please. I have no trouble at this point maintaining my desired weight, which is a few pounds over the recommended BMI. I have a ridiculously high metabolism, and I've said here before how embarrassing that is because it means I really had to work hard to get so heavy! Unfortunately, I have yet to hit the first lick of exercise (hangs head in shame...).

The sleeve has made me a snacker.

I lost weight and continue to maintain by eating all day every day. Like you, I am always hungry. I never lost hunger, even immediately after surgery. I am almost two years out, and frequent snacking is my way of life. I don't worry about it. It has worked for me so far.

Have you also changed between the ears?

Yes, I have changed between the ears, and in a good way. Like you, I smile a lot more. I am no longer preoccupied with what people see when they look at me, or what that think when they see me. I no longer find excuses to avoid people who haven't seen me in a long time. I am no longer dealing with the physical limitations that made me uncomfortable with the slightest exertion, or the embarrassment of things like getting stuck in a diner booth. Know what else? I can barely remember what it was like to be large. I've moved on. But I don't even regret having been large, because everything that I have done and everything that has happened to me make me the person I am today. And I like that person. And that is proof that I have changed between the ears.

Is there anything prettier than a woman's collarbone? Congratulations!

    You have been warned...

I wonder if we are to fear the nudity or the waffles?
  11. Wow! You are one mature, grounded person! You will be just fine.

    regreting this whole thing

While you have lost some weight, you are still a very good distance from goal. Your body shape will change countless times between now and then. I am over a year out and mine is still changing. At first I was scrawny, now my hips and thighs are filling out a little while my tummy keeps reducing - which means I'm getting my curves back!!!! I think you're just in a funk - give it some time...

    Exercise question for the VETS

Oh, yeah??? Well, I'm one of those you'd like to punch. But I want to punch all these people who LIKE to exercise!! Y'see, in another similar thread I just read through, they called us "skinny fat people", and that smarts, because it's true! I didn't exercise. I don't exercise. I hate exercise. I tell myself I will exercise. I don't and won't exercise. See? Even though some of lost readily without exercise, we are still tortured souls... cut us some slack!
