    In Need Of Support

Jeppy - I can't believe how hard you are being on yourself. You have gone from 390 to 180 and, instead of feeling absolutely wonderful about how far you've come, you berate yourself. You look wonderful and you apparently are just where your body wants you to be. We set unrealistic goals sometimes - I think that is what has happened here. Enjoy your victory girlfriend & get that chin back up where it belongs!

    November Bandsters!!!

Hello fellow bandsters - I was banded on 11/9/11, so I'm 3 weeks out today and feel fabulous. If you have an experienced surgeon, you have very little to worry about. I did not have near the pain I was so afraid of, tho I did get some pretty severe shoulder pain from the air they use for a couple of days. I started at 267 and am now 241 in a little over 5 weeks. I'm stuck at this weight for about the last week, but they tell me this is pretty typical until your first fill or two (mine is 12/13). Over the last week, I've been walking two miles a day and have had zero pain since about a week and a half out. My doc doesn't put anything in the band when he implants it, so I'm able to eat more things than they told me I would be able to, and more than they told me, which is where I am now - trying hard to remember why I've done all this. Follow your doctor's orders, if you have a family to feed, make sure your freezer is stocked, and allow yourself at least a week to get your bearings. This has been a walk in the park compared to what I had envisioned beforehand - but I'm also very committed to this new lifestyle. AND PRAYER HELPS IMMENSELY. Blessings to you and your journey .
  3. For all you stomach sleepers out there, how long was it befre you could sleep on you stomach again???
  4. Hello girlfriends - I am on day 2 of the postop diet with a surgery date next Wednesday, 11/9. I have several dinners in my freezer as I have three kids and a hubby. How do all of you handle this aspect whlie you're on the liquid diet both preop and postop (and when you're very limited on what you can eat?). Love reading all your posts. Hope to be another success story soon . God Bless, Julie

    Cathy from Illinois

Thanks Cathy for sharing your journey. It's exactly what I was looking to find today. I started my preop diet today and will have surgery on 11/9. I hope mine goes as well as yours. Keep sharing everything you've learned - it really blessed me today.
  6. Tell me what to expect the day of surgery and the first few days postop please!

    November Bandsters!!!

Hello fellow November bandsters. My surgery date is 11/9 & I am interested in the FB group as well, but don't want the whole world to know I've been banded. What to do, what to do????
  8. I'm awaiting approval to hopefully have LapBand surgery before the end of the year. I'm completely committed. My biggest concern is that, despite my weight, I have always been healthy and felt well. The thought of being sickly - vomiting often, etc. - is discouraging to me. How true-to-life after LapBand surgery is this concern?
