mine slipped downward, bringing more stomach up over the band.

I agree with Jachut. If I'd had the 'willpower' to make that decision. I'm not sure I'd have needed the band in the first place. However, then another thought comes to mind. Very honestly, I really did prefer the 'restricted' experience and the weight loss it helped me to achieve. Now, being pretty much unable to have a fill do what it is meant to do, I have alot more trouble with choices, so they may be on to something here. Perhaps, if the Dr mans this remote for the initial first 6 months to a year, (until the patient can see the benefits of restriction), it will be a successful idea. I think I like it!

I truly understand this, Alexandra. The band does far more for us than we think. I am struggling with my feeding behavior daily. It is indeed true that I still make many good choices, but those bad ones are alot easier without the restriction. Also, I think this far out, for me, my head gets tired of the constant work involved in dealing with the fact that I can't eat like 'normal' people - no matter what. There is no level ground. If I am not on a constant watch of what goes in my mouth and how much exercise I get to burn THAT off, my body holds on to it, plain and simple. It's very tiresome, but without the band I certainly would not be where I am today, so I am still thankful for that.

Sounds like damage control to me. But, Inamed can't say what you can and can't write.

Mine was in my back, upper shoulder area.

Normal? Depends on the day, but often I have a tuna salad kit for lunch at work. Today, I took homemade chili Beans instead and had about 6 saltines with it. This evening, for dinner, I have had only shredded roast beef cooked in the crockpot with onions, no gravy. I will probably have some yogurt later to take my medications. I don't often eat Breakfast, but if I do, it's normally a Protein bar. I am 3 yrs out and no longer have alot of restriction due to esophageal relaxation. I struggle with the carb hungry monster and the only way I can beat it is to detox myself from it. Often a weekend will be spent on boiled eggs and chicken breasts. For veggies, I'll open a can of green beans, sometimes asparagus etc.

I voted this evening. It took me all of 15 minutes, in and out. The Texas Voters Guide was SO helpful. http://freemarket.org/

Um.. pizza dough is not your friend. Pizza was my very first PB as well. The consistency of the dough will definitely stop you in your tracks if you have real restriction.

I believe Kyleigh was in a commercial and an old member 'Coffeewench' was in one very early on, somewhere around 2003-2004, I think. Welcome!

Many experience it, yes. Did you go on liquids after your episode on Sunday? What is it that you were trying to eat at noon-time? Are you chewing to liquid? If you are continuing to have a problem with regurgitating, maybe you need to go on liquids for a day or two to allow the esophagus to heal?? I hope you get some relief soon.

Just my opinion, but I would avoid scrambled eggs, unless you absolutely masticate them with a fork first. The texture tends to 'settle' in your band and many of us learned real quickly they're not nearly as innocent as you'd think. Try tuna salad, egg salad, oatmeal, refried Beans, potted meats, cottage cheese.

There is some sort of medication that is given to bypass patients called acti-gall. I'm not sure it works, however, as I've known people who had to have their gallbladder removed after excessive weightloss anyway. I did have mine removed after one year of being banded, as have many others. No problem, much easier than even the band surgery, to me.

Please Pray For Father Chuck Who Died...

Truly tragic. God rest his soul and comfort those he left behind. -
Does she pay for her own transportation? Do you give her additional money etc? Give her a choice. She can follow the path she is taking, without your assistance - car/money/credit cards/clothing or ,she can follow the original plan and you will continue to assist her. Let her know you will love her either choice she makes.

Are you wearing pants with a waistband? My port was quite sensitive for about the first year. Wearing a waistband or sitting bent at the waist for very long really agrivated it.
-
I really like the Leslie Fay and Positive Attitude pantsuits.

Exactly that. I am merely placing a reply on an old post in order to bring it up to the top again so that new people can view it. There are certain questions that come up again and again and with each new wave of new members, some discussions come up over and over. So, when I see posts that refer to this topic, I might often 'bump' it up again, so that the newest members can possibly use it. Make sense?
