You look wonderful! Congratulations

I had a 2.6 lb weight loss this week but am getting hungry... I don't know if it is because I indulged in a couple of small candies around Halloween but my hunger is definitely up this week. Also, it is that TOM so that could be the issue. I do hate it when I just want to eat and eat...

I finally made it - squeaking by at 199.8 this morning! I've been stalled at 200-201 for the last week and I kept waking up every morning thinking "this is the day!" but it wasn't.... Today was the day! So happy and motivated to keep on going! Hope everyone else has had a great week

Hair loss with PCOS before the sleeve?
BroadwayBaby replied to Missnurse's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I'm wondering this too - I have thin hair on top already and I am moving into my 3rd month post surgery. I haven't had any hair loss from the surgery as of yet but I'm expecting some. I think for the winter I'll wear hats if I have to... lol ... not sure how it will be but I am nervous about it! -

Any Boston, Ma Gastric Sleevers Out There?
BroadwayBaby replied to Tarada9's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Sorry - I'm just seeing this thread again now. My surgeon (Dr. Ashley Vernon, Brigham & Women's) did not specifically tell me how many sleeves she had done - she said that most MA surgeons were just starting to do them because insurance companies just started covering them in our state. She did say that when she worked in Oregon she had done many sleeves as the first procedure of the DS but I don't think she has done too many stand alone sleeves. I did get nervous before having the surgery that she might not have as much experience with it as I would like but everything went smoothly. I asked her straight out to honestly tell me if she thought I should see one of the other surgeons who has done more sleeves and she told me she felt very comfortable with her abilities. She did a 40 bougie and all as gone well after surgery. I have lost just about 42 lbs and I am about 10 weeks out. I can eat pretty much anything without any nausea, etc. but that just might be the luck of the draw. If you have any questions please feel free to send me a message! K -
I had a loss of 1.6 lbs this week - seems so slow - but got to 199.8 this morning. Hope it picks up a little faster as I've had just 1-2 lbs lost per week.

Thank you! I wish you both great success this week

You sound a lot like me. I usually do the same thing - 2-3 months I go strong on a diet/exercise plan and then it's like flipping a switch and I go back to my old habits. We were probably sleeved around the same time - mid August - so it is right in the 2-3 month zone right now. I do find that I am more tempted to eat things I shouldn't but I keep reminding myself of what I went through with the surgery and how this is a second chance to do things right. I also was at a stall for this whole week and when that happens for me it almost makes me feel like "why bother?". I woke up this morning and finally broke the stall which has given me the motivation to keep on plugging away. I agree with Tiffy about checking on the PPI and also maybe seeing a therapist to deal with the food issues - we all have them or we wouldn't be in this boat! Good luck and keep your chin up - you CAN do this!!!

Sleeve of Steel
BroadwayBaby replied to FishingNurse's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I too can eat anything and I am just over 2 months out. I have eaten salad, bread, etc. and have had no reactions whatsoever. It is nice to be able to eat somewhat normally but I do wish I had a new aversion to sweets! I haven't eaten many because I am doing protein first and am usually not hungry after that. I too feel like I am a slow loser - I only lost 7 lbs last month (month 2). -
I AM going to get to Onderland!
BroadwayBaby replied to ashleyc's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
You can do it! You have a great attitude which will see you through. I too am hoping to get under 200 very soon. I have been kicking around 200-203 for the past 3 weeks. Yesterday I was 200.4 and today 200.8..... I will up my water and protein too to see if it helps. Good luck! I can't wait to hear about your success -
I lost 2.2 last week and I am at 201.4 - SO close to Onederland I can taste it!! I have a check up with my surgeon on Thursday and I would love to be under 200 but I have been a fairly slow loser so don't know if I'll be down under there before Halloween. I'm crossing my fingers though!

Thanks Wondering for your positive attitude!

Hunger & Cravings
BroadwayBaby replied to AV8ORnTX's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am just over 2 months out and my hunger is still there. It depends on the day though, sometimes I forget to eat but on most days I do feel hungry, just not as much as I was before surgery. Good luck! -
I've had many weeks where I haven't lost anything too - it is so frustrating! I actually did have a loss this week of about 2.6 lbs. Last week I lost just under 2 - it seems SO slow!!! Hopefully this week will be better for both of you. Don't give up! We can all do this!!

You look amazing - what a transformation! You should be really proud of all your success. I hope to follow in your footsteps... -
Only 1.6 lbs lost for me this week... I did a lot of exercise - running two days and then doing a lot of biking also so hopefully the small loss is because I am gaining muscle. Hope everyone has a great week!

i just feel awful
BroadwayBaby replied to meggspeggs's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I stalled for at week 2 for 3 weeks and it was expected but frustrating! After that the weight has come off steadily. Do not be discouraged!!! The sleeve will work but the body has to adjust after significant weight loss. Don't let this upset you to the point that you stray from your plan. I am a person who wants to see immediate results or I feel like throwing in the towel but I can tell you 100% that if you stick to your plan the weight will start coming off again. Get into your food habits, try to exercise when you can and the weight loss will pick up again. You can do it!! -

I am from the South Shore area too and I was sleeved on August 15 at the Brigham. I've lost just under 35 lbs so far and feel great. If I can answer any questions for you let me know! Katie -
Caffiene/alcohol questions
BroadwayBaby replied to lessofme2010's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I drank diet coke up until the night before surgery - I was totally addicted! I did end up having a headache during recovery but the medication they gave me for pain helped and I haven't missed it since.
