Hi Everyone, I am Kelli and I just had Lap Band on Monday. I am not feeling great today and came online to see if I can find some reassurance that what I feel is normal. I am feeling bloated with heartburn and uncomfortable. I had some cottage cheese for Breakfast and felt fine after that. Then I had some mashed potatoes with my Protein powder for lunch and was fine. At 3 I had my Protein shake and my calcium chews and felt too full. I thought it would go away. They told me a couple of hours. It has been over 4 hrs and I still feel uncomfortable. My incision where the port is nearby is uncomfortable too. I was told by my doc that I would be fine in few days after surgery but I am still waiting. Is this normal? Hope you all are doing GREAT!

I just had lap band on Monday. I have been taking my meds but the pain in my incisions is feeling better so I stopped last night. I still feel pulling on the port and the larger incision but it is tolerable. Today I started having some heart burn and feel like I am having trouble getting a full breath in. I don't want to eat anything as I feel like it will just make it worse. I haven't "eaten" anything since my Protein shake at 3pm and it is after 7 now. I asked a friend that has had lap band about her post op pain and she said she didn't have any. I am concerned now. The doctors orders say that unless the pain gets worse, things are fine. How do I get more comfortable? Is there anything I can do? Am I the only one that has discomfort? I want to feel like I am not alone. THanks so much for listening!

Thanks! I am taking Percoset and I got pill form so I break them in half so they go down easier. It works good for the pain but I am in a daze and groggy all the time. I need to write a paper for my online class this weekend and wanted to cut way back so I can concentrate. I took a pill last night and slept great. I can already feel my eyes all jumpy. I hope I can write the paper. I took Gas x last night and this morning I feel a lot better. I did the breathing device religiously for the 3 days like I was told. Yesterday I did it when I remembered. Anyhow, thanks so much for all the advice!!!! It is truly helpful!

Hi guys, I was banded on 9/19 also. I am wondering about this shoulder pain. I have it and thought I hurt it getting up. I have gas and didn't know I could take gas x. I will have to get some of that. I am in a bit of pain but stopped meds today because they weren't doing much and I thought I could deal. I am wondering now. I am going to take them at bedtime! Glad to be here. I need the support of others going through the same thing! -
I am on pureed foods for 2 weeks, soft food for 2 weeks and then add in one solid food at time after that. By then I will have my first fill as well. I had to do liquid diet for 3 days prior to surgery. My friend had Gastric Sleeve and she did 2 weeks. I am so glad I didn't have to do that. I was dying from 3 days. Good luck to you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks! I am going to take pain meds tonight. I feel like it will help me sleep better. Glad to hear someone else can't breathe all the way yet either. I am still using the breathing thing from the hospital when I think about it. I will have to call and ask about heartburn on Monday. I really don't feel like taking my supplements or anything, the thought makes me nauseous!

64 oz of fluid....that is difficult
Kelli71 replied to JinTx's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was told 32 oz to start and then move up from there. I haven't been able to get that down either. I am trying though. Today is hard since I have a stomach ache and don't want to upset anything further.
