I am not yet banded, but during my consultation, the Surgeon told me that after being banded, I should not drink from a straw as it will inflate the stomach with air and cause problems later.

Also check out Ciro Surgical Center in San Jose....they may be able to help. Call this number in Fremont 510-713-0719. They deal wth Pre-Lapband surgery nutrition and so forth, they may be able to help.

There is a Forum on here called Lapband Fills and under that.....there is another heading called Lapband Fill Centers.........check for Novato. Hope this helps.

Glove, continue to do your research because it is the best way to be educated especially with such a major life decision. Thanks for sharing the article......I know that you have mentioned previously that you were undecisive about the surgery. Only you can make that decision. I wish you well in whatever decision you make and that you may be at peace with yourself.

Has anyone removed the band just because they have reached goal weight, and no longer "need or want" tha band?
