Advice Wanted
readytogoforit replied to DebbieC1970's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Thing that helped me most was learning! I read the bandwagon by Jean McMillan. I also really got involved with this site. I read the posts from the people who were successful, copied their road to thin. we all worry before our surgery but, we all get through it. keep posting and reading, good luck. we like to help on this forum, really!! -

Trying to see the light at the end of the tunnel!
readytogoforit replied to lalinda1236's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
You are only 7 days out, I think the depression is probably leftover drugs from surgery. this is unfortunately normal. keep yourself busy, walk as much as possible and when you are with friends and family, ALWAYS have something to drink with you. don't be caught unprepared! You will make it through this, we all did! Keep thinking about the melting pounds!!!! -
Protein shakes vs slimfast
readytogoforit replied to 2013bandgirl's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I drink Whey protein shakes with I make by adding milk. I use jay robb, like it 'cause it is low in carb, high in protein 25 and very low in sugar (no fake sugars; sucralose, aspartame). great flavor with milk or soy milk you get lots of your daily protein! you can buy a shaker with a mixing ball inside to make them, easy! much more nutritious for you. -
Have you been keeping track of you inches lost? you might be surprised at what is really going on in your body!! Make sure to keep drinking LOTS of water too. hang in there, it will start coming off.

I agree with a newdawn; if you get back into tracking your food intake(myfitnesspal.com) you will see how Protein you are actually getting. you will also see what kind of nutrition you are not getting from the sweets! all foods are on myfpal!!! remember protein helps you feel satisfied much longer. give it a try and see if you feel better and start seeing results again. sugar is an addictive food source, it is not going to be easy the first few days. you can do this, sugary foods are not really that good, are they? sorry if I sound rough. I think you 'fessed up cause you want help, we will do that. this site is very helpful, people do care and will listen. Good luck and keep in touch everyday.

readytogoforit replied to wildrose1966's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Oh my, I do remember how good it tasted at that stage!! I loved refried beans with some melted cheese and salsa! I still love to eat it that way! I think the foods I eat are so different now, I think I taste things better. -

Pre-Op Weight Loss
readytogoforit replied to Harrier's Woman's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My doc asked me to lose 10 lbs. b4 surgery. I started watching what I ate the day after I went to the information seminar. I log what I eat on Myfitnesspal.com, it really helps to know what you are eating as the day progress'. I lost 30 lbs. before surgery, felt so good and got me into a new way to eating. I also started going to Curves right away too and started walking. You go ahead and lose as much as you want it all makes life so much nicer!!!! happy you are on the road to Bandster land! -
4 Days And Counting Til Removal!
readytogoforit replied to critterlady's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I hope you will be selfish and take care of yourself and your weight after removal. I say selfish because I think I never felt worthy of this much work and time! I do not want you to gain back all of the progress you have made at this point. -
I went to the U of M and had the coolest doc ever. I see him each visit. That being said, if you like your PA. and trust what she says, go with it! I think eating slowly has been the hardest thing for me. I don't mind chewing forever but, I still eat quickly way to often. I love this forum and it has helped me remember why I had this surgery in the 1st place! Keep posting and reading, so much to learn and lose with!

WAY TO GO!!!! keep up the great progress.
