I guess it shouldn't surprise me that the same temptations are always lurking - ready to take over again! I will watch for them. you are doing something right if you only gained 2 lbs. hope you are back on your feet again soon!

I Slipped Up This Week...
readytogoforit replied to shakey88's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
It is great that you feel comfortable enough to admit booboo's. we all do it, I think if we can be honest our chances of success are better. I know I never used to talk about the food I ate. If I had a day of eating danish for breakfast, it started an excuse for me to continue through the rest of the day. now I stop and continue on eating what I know will make my life better. for me it can't be a punishing new life style. perfection kills me, kills my dreams and stops my progress. I love that we can vent all of these feelings on this forum! You go girl, back on the healthy life track! -
if you have done a Zumba class, you know they work!!!! great sweat out!!

I hope you will still be friends as time goes on. -
Tips For Starting Exercise
readytogoforit replied to MissManders's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
when is your surgery scheduled? I am just wondering why you don't want to join Curves now and get a head start! the inches I have lost have come from Curves, I feel so much better. also the women their are young and old fat and kind of fat. I go 5 days a week and it has been the best exercise for me. I also had not done any exercising for a long time. I always got so winded doing anything, walking was the only thing I could do but only on level ground! I also have a sweating to the oldies video and a walking one from Leslie Sansone. I like them both, I feel like exercise is making the big difference in the way my body is starting to form. I say form 'cause before it just hung, draped really. don't wait, get started right away!! walk like a crazy person after surgery, the gas pain will not be so bad if you do. it will also keep your metabolism at a better place. I agree with the other posts, your exercise will change as you get healthier. a full gym will work better as time goes on, plus with that new body you will fit right in! -

Co-Worker Wants To Have Lap Band
readytogoforit replied to blondiepierce's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
it's not her time for a band, not yet. hopefully the shrink would see this. you have to believe in yourself, this not a miracle procedure! it's hard work that we do along with the band. -
What About Medications Post Band?
readytogoforit replied to quiltingfarmgirl's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
my doc gave me a large list of vitamins I was to take. most of them are large. I have given them away and now use liquid multi vitamin and liquid calcium citrate. I get them at a whole foods store. don't use the gummy vitamins - too much sugar, not enough vitamins! I swallow pills that are in capsules with no problem. -
What Am I Doing Wrong? Constructive Adivce Needed :)
readytogoforit replied to I-wanna-be-a-loser's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Girl, I think you are assume! Inches is the name of your game right now. what has happened in the size department? I think all the exercising is building muscle - not a bad thing! my weight loss has slowed considerably but I love the inches lost, so I'll take them for now. -
Is Whey Protein Powder Okay To Have?
readytogoforit replied to mztmom's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
yes, I love my whey Protein powder. it is expensive I use Jay Robb. it has no carbs, no artificial sugars, 25 grams of protein. I spoke to the people at the Vitamin Shoppe and have learned what to look for. Aspartame sweetener is used in many of the powders, they are linking it to cancer and belly fat. I really try to watch my carb intake so I definitely don't want to drink carbs! I love the taste and it works so well on mornings that I don't have time to make an egg breakfast. I think we are worth spending the money! when you think of the "junk" we used to eat - with no nutritional value, that was a lot of money! -
isn't it amazing! we all need to look at those b4 pictures. if we look we will not repeat!

that a girl! good for you.

No Weight-Loss Before Surgery!
readytogoforit replied to Mrs. 2012 Banded's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
they asked me to started a 1200 calorie food journal. I dug in whole heartedly and lost 30 lbs by surgery time! they asked that I lose 10 lbs. I decided if I wanted to make this work, I had to get into the correct mindset. my doc and nutritionist made it very clear that the gastric band was not a miracle. If it worked it would be because I worked. I am happy they started me this way. I want this to be the last time I have to get rid of extra weight. I want to live, to be physically active and healthy. -
Does This Really Work
readytogoforit replied to newme2012's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I feel so much better now. my weight loss has been slow and steady. I have been heavy for so many years, I can't remember when I wore regular sized clothes? I now wear size 14 pants. I am trying to look at this as a life style change - FOR LIFE. I want to swim and ride a bike without feeling weird. I can now walk long distance comfortably. food tastes good now. I was a carb freak, yes I would love to eat bakery goods but today I choose not to. I think the best thing I am now doing is communicating. I am trying not to feel shame over the "lost years" of obesity. I love this forum and feel it helps me keep going. this has to be your decision, try not to buy into everyone else's story as you hear them. best of luck to you. -
Not New Just Coming Back
readytogoforit replied to Mamma Bellino's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
First of all i hate the words "i should of", you didn't and that's ok. I agree with Sandymax, he has forgiven you, now you need to believe it. you have a beautiful baby and are ready to go again. I agree with others here; start some kind of exercise program, start drinking Water again, plan your food. put you first(I know that is hard with a toddler) if you do the baby wins too. I really love myfitnesspal.com to log my food. keep posting your progress(both good and not so good) on this forum. we are not going to judge, we want you to succeed. -
I do not eat snacks. my best friend is my weight scale. I always seem to guess more than it really should be. only bread I eat arnolds sandwich thins or flatouts. I try to eat more veggies - steamed and raw. lots of water - lots. love that exercising you are doing! be gentle with yourself, try not to compare to others. I think you are doing fine. keep going for the goal!!!

I still don't swallow too many pills. Surgery 10/28/11, I use liquid calcium and multi. no sugar, no preservatives, just good stuff. Calcium should be calcium citrate for best absorption. -

Nervous To Eat
readytogoforit replied to ccsbulldog's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A

I ate some of the salad with a little dressing, a bite of their biscuits & broccoli. it was so good. I was full so quickly, I was really surprised. I felt like I ate well and got a good amt. of protein too. you will be fine just remember to chew, chew, chew..... no drinking with the meal. enjoy you'll do great and enjoy eating in the "new world"!! -

16 Months Out, Just A Little Update.
readytogoforit replied to NYdad's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Love this, so good to hear from "oldies". I don't mind the idea of still trying to get to goal at 16 months! I hope I will be as strong as you at 16 months. I agree, they think we took the easy way - Ha Ha!! Nothing is free, nothing. would it be as precious is it were free and easy, maybe for awhile. Proud of your determination!!!
