I know strange title LOL How do you get all the Water you need in? I find it really hard to drink what I need. Am getting sick of being dehydrated. Any hints on making sure I get enough water? Basically I've been told that I can drink just before a meal but not till 2 hours after a meal. This is why I'm finding it so hard to get the water in. I just don't seem to be able to find the time, plus I keep getting sidetracked and forget. And while I'm on the subject of water how long does it take to get used to not drinking with meals? That is one I'm really really finding hard. I think this is due to the fact that preband I drank when I ate. Oh deary me just gotta love this mental stuff.

Hi all gosh sorry that I haven't been on in ages. Been mad around here so lots of stress eating! Anyway went for my 2nd fill today and had it done under xray. Was quite interesting to watch what he was doing. Great doc (not my usual doc). Anyway I was supposed to have 1ml in there but there was nothing! But that is ok as I was freaking out thinking that I had bugger all restriction on 1ml. So I now have 2ml in my band so hopefully that will kickstart the weightloss again. I have only lost .3kg but I'm ok with that as I thought I'd put it on. I'm so glad that I haven't put it on. The fill really is no big deal. Doesn't it feel weird when they put the needle in the port. That's an icky feeling for me LOL. Anyway just touching base.

Hi everyone, Well let's just say that for me the last few weeks have been a nightmare. My uni is stuffing me around in regards to enrollment and marks (still working on that one), my marriage was really rocky there for a while (I wonder if this has to do with the band?) but we went to counselling for that one which helped. I had a huge falling out with someone and from that have lost a group of what I thought was close friends (but am kind of over that one) and this time last Thursday my beautiful Molly dog drowned and died. As I'm a mood eater how do you not binge? Now I've had a fill today so that should make some difference. But I have been bad and have been eating icecream. I know I know so naughty. How do I deal with these demons taunting me like this. (ok I am aware that it is my hand putting the food in my mouth but you know what I mean). I'm sorry am just really blabbing here. I'm sure that some if not all of you know what I'm talking about as obviously this is why a lot of us got to this point. Anyway thanks for letting me get this out and thanks for reading.

Hi Maudi just wanted to say welcome and good luck!

Welcome Birdee! And well done on the weight loss. I know what you mean about not regretting it. It's so worth it isn't it. Take care

hi everyone i'm new here too
nickyjs replied to tosha's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Hi and welcome. Fantastic on the docs appt. What did they say? Were they positive for you at least? Good luck with the insurance. I hope that it all goes ahead really quickly for you. And you have found a fantastic place for support and advice. -
My only advice is that they need to understand that this is a tool and that you need to work with it. It doesn't 'fix' the problem. Other than that I say good luck to your friend in whatever they choose to do.

Hi Erika, I can't help you out here as I live in Australia and besides all the others have given you some great advice. I just wanted to say well done on the decision and good luck in getting it all finalised. Take care

I'm the same as Camilla I thought it was 1/2 cup before aswell. Thanks for clarifying that. lol That will make meal planning a lot easier. So 1 cup of food can really be mushed down into 1/2 cup? Amazing the things you learn on this board!
-
Hi Michelle hope it all went well and you are recovering quickly. Congratulations!!

Hi and welcome to the land of the band. Um what guide to food etc did your doc give you? I personally think that 8 days is way to early to be eating solid foods. I would speak to your doc again and find out what he/she wants you to do. Some docs advice is different but the majority recommend at least 1 week of liquids, then mushy and then solid foods. And this time can go anywhere from 3 weeks to 6 weeks. good luck
-
I can't offer any advice I just wanted to say good luck and hope that this 3rd fill is the one for you. take care

Fantastic Alexandra!!!! Welcome to the land of the band. Gosh you're doing well if you're off the pain meds. I wasn't so lucky. But I can't really remember it now, well maybe just a little. Take it easy. How long do you have to be on liquids for? The next few weeks can be tricky (well they were for me). But you give the impression that you are really motivated, so I doubt you will have a problem. Good luck and look forward to sharing this journey with you. Wow I can't believe how quickly your surgery came around. Take care

I am so looking forward to my fill on Friday. This week I started on normal foods and I've put back on about 3 and a half pounds. From surgery I have lost just over 13 pounds so I don't feel too bad. Well I do but am focusing on the loss I have made. Got to keep on that bright side! Anyway am really just venting and blabbing away.

I had the weirdest thing happen to me (it has kind of bothered me before but nothing like today). I had a cupaccino and had the froth off the top and after the 2nd mouthful of frothy milk I had that gagging golf ball feeling. It took about 5 mins to go away. Ridiculous! I can eat food but can't have the froth off a coffee????? My god that feeling is scary! How on earth do you deal with it if it's food? I've been lucky so far that I haven't had that happen or that I have thrown up. I'd just like to keep it that way if I can.

Thanks everyone. I will try to do that and not worry about the 2 hour mark. I spoke to the surgeon and he wasn't sure and said I should speak to the dietician. I see her on the 11th so will go over it again with her and let her know what I have been doing and that I seem to be coping with it better. Leo that is the problem I had waiting the 2hrs after eating I just couldn't fit the Water in. I do have a drink before I have my meal but that has mainly been from knowing that I was going to have to wait so long to drink again. I am still trying to cope with the not eating and drinking. I'm really struggling with that one. Anyway thanks again for your advice all.

Well I'm now 1ml heavier LOL I was a little nervous going there but once I was there it was no big deal. I had lost 1kg of the 1.5 that I had put on. And boy do I have some restriction. I'm sure it won't last though as I'm able to eat a little more than yesterday. But that doesn't matter I go back again on the 20th to see if I need another adjustment. Woo Hoo! Now I just have to deal with the food demons! They are rearing their ugly heads at the moment. As I have done IVF finding the port and injecting the Fluid was no big deal for me. It did feel weird when he found the port and then injected it. It was almost like I felt it going into the port (not necessarily the band as such). Mmmm well that's my update so far.

The other gripe for me is not only the sleeveless shirts ... but I can't even count the number of shirts I've bought and they've just made required length (for big tummys) and sure enough ... you wash it once and it's up to your belly button!!! Yes!!!!!!! Oh I can so relate to this one! Actually I'm wearing one of those at the moment. It is so short that it has now become a pj top! So annoying!!!!

Welcome Chrissy and well done on the weight loss without a fill. Great job you must be working really hard.

Just wanted to say hi and welcome. And well done on the weight loss. Glad that the 2nd fill seems to be doing the job.

Anyone had ab surgery before and then this?
nickyjs replied to momhappe1's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
It would depend on where the scar tissue is. Perhaps they meant that they might not be able to do it via laparoscopy? If you don't mind me asking how many ab surgeries have you had? And were they all on the same areas? You can have the lapband put in via open surgery. Perhaps this could be an option. I don't really know I'm just really thinking of different scenarios. -
Wednesday you're not the only one that thought that. I did too. It would make sense too with my big but! LOL:D I don't know what clothes are like in the states but I really hate the plus size clothes in Australia they cost an absolute fortune and are really crappy quality. The materials are just pathetic and are not worth the money. They just don't last. Oh the joys. Oh well just have to keep thinking that I'll be able to buy in the 'normal' section in about a year!!! Woo Hoo!!!!!

Just wanted to say what a fantastic loss! Wow! You've done a great job. I think that there will be quite a few of us that will be having the TT. Anyway from another relative newbie nice to meet you.

Hi Heidi, I'm only new myself but I just wanted to say good luck with your appt. I too have found these wonderful people a wealth of information. It's where you can find out the real experiences both good and bad. Which in the information collection stage is vital. Anyway best of luck

Hi Roxanne, These thoughts just seem to be part of the journey. I was the same and many people I know who've had it done feel the same. I just wanted to wish you all the very best of luck.
