NSV shout outs
cindyslosingit replied to BobBayCityMI's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
When I went in for my last check up with my surgeon he asked me if he could use me on his web site to tell my story. I told him when I lose another 20 pounds since I wasn't done yet. And I've lost 5 more since that appointment. Best NSV for me to date! -

Cold.... Like Freezing Cold - Had Gastric Sleeve Surgery 3.5 Days Ago
cindyslosingit replied to illgeturhairdid's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am only a little over 3 months out and I am cold all the time! Before surgery and when I was this weight before in my early 20's I was hot all the time so I really don't get why I am now cold all the time. My hands and feet are always like ice. And I am on no blood thinners what so ever. My latest labs were great so no vitamin defficiencies. I'm guessing maybe it's hormonal.... no clue. Wouldn't change it for the world tho. I feel better than I have in years. -

What Do You Say To Coworkers About Gastric Sleeve Surgery?
cindyslosingit replied to redmtn's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Do your co-workers know about your previous WLS? If so you can explain to them that the Lap band surgery was not for everyone and due to complications (whether you had any or not) you are having to revise to a different type of surgery. Or you could just not say anything unless you have a very close friend you feel you want to share it with. I personally am not working so didn't have to face this issue. But I also fealt it was no ones business that I had surgery and I choose to tell only people I want to tell and when I want to tell them. And if you feel shameful about it you could always wait until after you come back from having it done and when people start noticing the weight coming off of you and start making comments you can tell them how wonderful you feel and it's all because of this wonderful tool that you have to help you lose weight. -
Do you still get hungry?
cindyslosingit replied to Ready4aNewLife's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Some days I feel no hunger at all and ahve to remind myself to eat (most days) and then some of the days when I go to the gym my hunger is off the charts. But even on those days only a few bites of food satisifes the hunger and then I'm fine. I get a lot of the rumbling noises coming from my stomach but I know I am not physically hungry so I don't feed the beast On the days I go to the gym I found it helps with my hunger if I eat some type of complex carb before going that way my body is plenty fueled up and I don't get so hungry afterwards. (I eat the complex carb whether I am hungry or not and even if it is only a bite or two it helps for the whole day) -
Irrgeular period?
cindyslosingit replied to DallasMomofTwins's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My periods pre-op were normal for the most part. Sometimes they came a few days early but not too bad. Well Since surgery (8-31) I had a normal period in September then in Ocotber had a normal one mid month then 2 weeks later I started spotting and cramping and that lasted a few days. I had posed the question on FB about irregular periods after WLS and a lot of people told me it was because of the hormonal changes from rapid weight loss. When I go to see my surgeon on 11-29 will def address this issue with him. Sucks I know -
I saw an infomercial for kettle bell workout on T.V. one day but they wanted way too much for it. So I bought a set of Kettlebells at Academy sports fairly cheap and just do what I can try to conjur up on my own. But I just looked up on youtube and they have several kettlebell workouts. Looking forward to getting my workout on with these )

Great job and what an honor to be asked to do some photos for your surgeons office. You look amazing and so happy and healthy. -
You aren't alone. I am not that far out but just recently started exercising more faithfully than before. I too find that I have been getting hungrier and noticed that my energy level dropped off and I had to take a nap. I attributed that one to only being 5 weeks out of surgery and not being able to consume a lot of calories just yet to keep my enerygy up. I have been getting dizzy as well and checked my blood sugar and my level was 68 which is low for me. After doing some research I have figured out that I need to one, eat some more Protein because I am not nearly getting enough yet and two I need to have some type of complex carbs added into my diet to give me a little extra fuel for my body. While I want to still eat low carb to watch what I am eating I know I need to get some energy from somewhere and this is a great place to get it and hope it will help keep my blood sugar from bottoming out. Good job on your weight loss thus far. You do need to keep fueling your body, but make the right decissions verses the bad ones we made before that got us to be where we were that we needed WLS.

I just looked this up on youtube, wow what a workout! Good for you. I couldn't get my body to move like that if I paid it too

Another thing you can do too if the weather isn't permitting you ride your bike is on the WII FIT there is a thing called free step where you step up and down off the wii fit board and can watch t.v. at the same time because you don't have to follow the screeen. I do that when I can't make it to the gym to swim or ride my bike.

3 1/2 weeks, severe pain after a few bites of solid food
cindyslosingit replied to Mixed Feelings's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I get a pretty sharp paing in my sternum area sometimes after only a couple of drinks of water. But every time I eat I get this pain as well. It is just my stomach telling me I'm full. I am only 4 weeks out today, but it has been happening since surgery. Sometimes it's only a couple of bites sometimes it's almost a whole egg. But I get that feeling every time. Hopefully after a while my "full" feeling will change. If you are concerned about the pain you are having though make sure you talk to your surgeon. -
Thanks for the info on this book. I just went online for my library and placed a hold on it. I plan on checking it out for a few weeks before buying it.... or making copies of the pages of the excercises I want to do. Thanks a bunch! Def want to try to combat the loose skin as much as possible early on.

How are the Florida sleevers doing????
cindyslosingit replied to ldydrgnkpr's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Just had mine done on 8-31 at St. Vincent's here in Jacksonville. Feeling pretty good now. Had a rough first few days in the hospital and once I was home but all good now. Will be going to my first support group meeting tonight. Emily how are you doing fresh out of your surgery and where in Jax did you have it done? The only thing I hope changes is that I get the full feeling sooner than later, because as it stands now I don't get the "full" feeling until I have a pain in my chest. I've heard some people say that months down the road that will change....... let's hope. -
Just found this group or would have posted sooner. Had mine done on August 31st in Jacksonville Fl with Dr, Uchal. I'm a little slow here on how do I add my Ticker....anyone help, please
