I am in Santa Barbara, and have no idea how to pick a doctor for a Vertical Sleeve. I am willing to travel, but it seems most surgeons have done mostly Roux n Y or Lapbands. Can anyone recommend a surgeon who has already been through the procedure? I am worried about picking someone with not enough experience.

I am down 36 pounds total, including about 10 day liquid diet pre surgery. Doing 3 advanced step classes/week. It is really unbelievable that some people here are stating 50+ pound weight loss as that seems highy improbable and I'm hoping people are being honest about their weight loss since the only one you're lying to is yourself. But if that's what it takes to get you through... I know what my doctor has told me the typical low and highs are for weight loss at this point, so I'm good with where I am at. There's so much dishonesty with compulsive overeating, now's the time to get honest.

Hi Amber, I am just over 2 weeks from my surgery and had so much air and gas the first week. I just want to tell you that the difference just 2 weeks out has been amazing. No more air, just started eating mushy food... Hang in there another week and you'll see!! I'm also shocked to see how teeny tiny the incision are now. I was so upset right after the surgery since it looked like someone took a big scoop out of my stomach, and they is now almost all gone.

Hi Michell, I had my surgery last Thursday and had terrible blisters where one of the adhesive monitors had been attached. It did not look good for about 4 days, but is now healing quickly. I'm chalking that up to my body going through a major shock, so hopefully you are just going through the same thing.

Never mind.... I think I just figured it out. I love seeing my progress on this cute little ticker! On another note, my surgeon's assistant told me I may not be tolerating the Protein drink they had me drink, since I was getting very bloated prior to the surgery. He suggested that I just try different shakes, and could not tell me why I wouldn't be tolerating the one they sell. Have you seen this on the VSG site where people don't tolerate the protein shake suggested by their surgeon?

Hi, I got my sleeve on November 4. I am so happy it is done! The two weeks before I was starved and ate so many veggies. I only lost 6 pounds in the pre surgery diet and have lost 4 pounds just since the surgery. I cannot believe that my hunger is actually gone.When they say you need to sip, they mean s-i-p-p slowly! Otherwise it hurts. Couldnt sit up without nausea, but can do so now. Each day I've gotten a lot better. If someone can tell me how to put the ticker on my profile, I would really appreciate it! I am going to be taking weekly photos so I can see my weight loss.

I met with Dr Braverman at the New Clinic today after they checked with my insurance to see what the coverage was. I was so impressed with this company. They answered all of my questions, and I am so excited about starting on my new life. The surgery date was set today, and they were able to take care of most of my tests while I was there. Has anyone had experience with Dr Braverman? Would appreciate all feedback.

I am getting sleeved on November 3, and have been concerned about the pain after the surgery. The doctor made it sound like it just feels like you've done situps, but I figured it was more than that. What kind of meds have you used and what has worked?

I am in Santa Barbara, and looking for doctors, hopefully ones who will take my Blue Cross PPO. Has anyone used any of the following? Dr Milton Owens, Dr Jeremy Korman, Dr Kai Nishi, Dr Michael Feiz, or Dr Criangle? Appreciate any feedback or other suggestions.

I actually decided on Dr. Braverman at the New Program and I see that you sent through the same company. What has your experience been with them?
