6 months post op w/ pics

You look fabulous. Go girl! Exercise will definitely take off the inches. I exercise at the gym at least 5-6 days a week and have lost so many inches I have never been in clothes the sizes I am wearing now, even though I still weigh more now than years before.
  2. I was good up until about 4 months, then started losing a lot. I had Bypass surgery Oct 10. I have steadily taken in a lot of protein with Unjury and Premier Protein, as well as lots of chicken, cheese, eggs, etc. I have lost a lot in two months. I also took Biotin from the beginning and two months ago started on another product that has horsetail product in it, etc. Still lost hair. I believe it is finally quitting and I am at six months from surgery today. My hairdresser said it is coming back in, but it is very thin and I have always had thick hair. From what I read there is not much you can do about it except take some supplements. I am very good at taking my bariatric vitamins and calcium 3x a day as well. I think it is just part of the surgery.

    Unflavored protein powder

My nutrionist suggested Unjury Unflavored. I use it every day to get extra protein. I order it from Unjury website. A little expensive but at least to get you through for a while you might try it. I mix it in with crystal light lemonade but you can put it in food, just water, etc. It has 21 grams of protein in a scoop of it.

    Post-op with surgeon Houston Tx

My surgeon was in Houston too. I had the bypass. Trust me, I felt all the emotions you are feeling. I even went so far as to contact my surgeon's nurse and cancel the surgery, then called back. She told me this was very normal, the nervousness of it and most of all I was worried about failing since I failed at every diet I ever did, plus I had a lapband and had it removed. But you will get through it and will do fine. Good luck.

    Hair loss & itchy scalp

My surgery date was October 10, and I have just started losing a lot of hair as well, which I was told at four months out I would probably do so. I take Biotin and have since day one, so that didn't help. I just ordered something I saw on here from another person, so I will see if that helps any. My hair stylist cut my hair a littler shorter to help as well but said she saw new growth so I am not overly worried. I take in a lot of protein every day as well. I think from what I read it just comes with the surgery unfortunately.
  6. I emailed my nutrionist. I am three months out from GB surgery. She said if I don't eat at least 1,000-1,100 calories a day I will stop losing. I hate logging food but I will. I am definitely getting in anywhere from 70-90 grams of protein in so that is good. I have just been at the same weight for 3 weeks, which I know happens throughout the weight loss process, which seems normal to me, your body is changing a lot.

Thank you everyone, I will give it a try tomorrow!!

    Salads?

Has anybody eaten salads of any type at 3 months out? I am dying for a salad but am scared to try it.
  10. I feel the same way. I will be at 3 months post op on January 10th and I really don't know how much to eat. Some days I feel like I don't care to eat much but seems like other days I am getting hungry. I just upped my protein intake with Injury "flavorless" that I can put in my water or sprinkle on food to get more protein in. I am walking 2 miles at least six days a week, so burning a little calories as well. I never received a number for how many calories and don't know if I should be tracking calories this early on. Going to email my nutrionist.

Lap Band being removed Feb 5th.

I had a lap band removal October 2016. It messed my insides up so bad I had to wait a year until I could have a revision, to which I had the Bypass October 10, 2017. I hope yours has not done any damage.

    Food is intimidating

I had bypass October 10. I feel same way, it is a struggle to feel like eating and making myself. I at least get the shakes down for 60 grams of protein but I am sick of those! I honestly believe I must not be taking in enough calories b/c after four weeks from surgery, I am only down the 20 lbs and 11 pre surgery. Definitely has stalled. I assume I need to eat more food for calories?

    Calling all October sleevers!!

Wow that's awesome! Good for you! I had bypass one day after you on the 10th and I have hardly lost anything since. I guess I am not getting in enough protein and calories, but seems like I am sipping constantly.

Pain After Surgery & General Questions

I had my bypass a week ago today. The first day was horrible for me, and the next two to three days were very rough. By fourth day was feeling much better and able to start getting some protein down. It's very difficult to sleep because you hurt on both sides and my back hurts after laying on it so much. I was sent home with liquid Tylenol with codeine. Honestly haven't taken it very much at all last three days. I am sure you will do fine though. I did get up and walk a lot every day and did not have ave the gas pains.
