Gas Pains Help after Lap Band Surgery

Gas-X strips didn't help me. Walking and Maalox Advanced Maximum Strength Cherry Flavor did wonders! Have you tried Bay leaf tea? Regular Decaf tea with a bay leaf boiled in it. Try walking around the house every 30 minutes and see if you get any relief. Hope this helps and you feel better soon !!

    November Bandsters!!!

Hello Everyone!!! I was banded on Friday, November 18th!!! 4 days post-op, some lightheadness from meds, water is ok, but I prefer to have warm tea (feels better), love my popsicles and broth with a little parsley sprinkled in Gas pains come and go, not as much in my shoulder as everywhere else, but Maalox Advanced Maximum Strength Cherry Flavor has been my best friend!! GAS-X didn't work very well for me. I plan to get on the scale by the end of the week...cant wait to see what it says!!

Gas Pain After Lap Band Surgery

I was banded on Friday, November 18th and the gas pains are horrible! I tried Gas-X strips, peppermint tea and bay leaf tea, all to no avail. However, my aunt suggested Maalox and I was a little leary at first, but it worked! I walk around the house every hour and take 2 teaspoonful of Maalox Extra Strength Cherry flavor (not as bad with the hint of cherry in it ) and I can say, I am feeling LOTS better (outside of the pain from the surgery). Good luck to you!!!

    liver shrinking diet

Hello everyone. My surgery is November 18th. I was put on a pre-op diet for 14 days and here is what I can have: steamed or raw vegetables at mealtime, protein drinks 3-4 times a day, sugar free jello and popsicles, decaf tea/coffee, and broth. I have to be honest, I have cheated. The broth doesn't settle well on my stomach and the protein drinks are great for 2 times a day. My neighbor had the same surgery, same hospital, different doctor (there are 3 in the WLS Clinic) six months ago and she was given the diet as well, but he told her she could have a "true" meal here and there. I was shocked because there are two doctors in the same clinic saying different things! GO FIGURE!!

    Hello!

Hello: My name is Traci. I have made the decision to have the Lab Band surgery, after months of research and speaking to my neighbor (she was banded in 2007) I have been losing and gaining weight for the last 9 years. For the last 2 years, I cannot seem to lose, only gain. After researching the Bariatric providers in my local area (I live in Killeen, TX - Ft. Hood), I decided to go with Scott & White in Temple, TX. I think I made a good choice from the reviews that I have read. I saw my PCM on 9 September and after a few issues, my referral to Scott & White was approved on September 19th. I will go to the Seminar on Thursday, September 22nd, which is the first step in their process. I have an appointment for the Psyche Eval on Thursday as well ( I have heard the Eval is 3 hours long) I plan to attend the Lifestyle Change Class and their Support group which are two additional requirements for the surgery. I guess I will find out any additional requirements when I am contacted for my appointment, I am just trying to get ahead of the game, so my wait will not be very long. I am excited and nervous about the surgery , not sure if that is possible ! Look foward to interacting and staying in touch with everyone!! Traci
