Hello all, I have been reading some of your post and trying to keep up. I hope everyone is doing great. The journey has been great so far, somedays better
than others. I had my surgery on September 29th and I would like to report that I am down 58 pounds as of today. I also recieved my first fill and

I was a little nervous because I did not know what to expect. It was not bad at all. I have a total of 5cc's in my band and I will be on liquids until tuesday.

Please keep pushing and never give up. Something that I have realize is that you may not see the weight right away but one day you will see it just fall off and you will be happy. Let me know how you are doing and I look forward to hearing from you all.

I was told to get to the hospital 6am this morning and I believe my surgery started around 8 ( I dont really know because I was out like lighting). I woke up to a nurse calling my name and feeling a little nauseous but I never threw up. I was in the recovery room for about a hour or so and then rolled back to my room. I was still in and out because the night before I could not sleep. Guess what I did you guys? I ate a piece of pizza and three wedges calling myself celebrating this new journey. My body was not ready for this. My head was spinning, I wanted to throw up and I had a headache. But you know what guys I learned from this and if eating with the band makes me feel this way I DON'T WANT IT. So it was a blessing in disquise! Anyways, I had to drink that nasty fluid (puke) to check for any leaks. It was good. I found out from my doctor that he not only did the lapband (which is not filled yet) he did the gastric plication as well. I was thrilled to know that he did this because it will help in my weight loss. How many had the plication as well? My doctor just started doing this a month ago with the lapband procedure. I am doing great. I am sipping on fluids all day long and I stay full. I think I may have gotten 200 calories today but I am full as I don't know what. So I am just letting everyone know that I am okay. I have so much energy that I impressed the nurses and walk all day long. :) Oh and so far have not had any gas pains and I have little pain. All Glory to God.

My surgery is on thursday and I am feeling good. The preop diet was was challenging at times but it really test my will power. This journey is not just about my weight it is about my emotions, my drive and determination and we can go on and on. I had to dig deep down inside and tell my self NO when I wanted to sabotash myself. During this time I have learned alot about my self and that in order to live longer you have to take care of the temple God has given you. I am more excited to have the surgery than nervous, but ofcourse there is the fear of the unknown which comes from experiencing new things.

I weighed myself and I am down 19 pounds and I am very proud of myself. It put a on my face. I pray that everyone else is doing great and I enjoy reading the stories and getting help.

Day 9 and counting.....During this preop diet I have realized how much I have relied on food. All week long my boyfriend and I have been going out and he gets to eat anything he wants oh and me I get to look at him enjoy the food. I am learning how to regulate my emotions because I can't eat what he eats. For instance his birthday was on thursday and he wants to go out to eat at lunch and dinner. My mouth starts watering when I look at him eat..ugh. Then today we just came from a wedding rehearsal and they had one of my favorite foods (chinese food). I was asked atleast 4 times would I like something to eat. Don't get me wrong it was very tempting but I did not give in. I know I have to learn now how not to rely on food but understand it will always be around as long as I live and its okay to WALK AWAY! I just wanted to express myself tonight. I hope everyone continuing to drop weight and becoming better people inside and out. Let me know how you are doing.

Yesterday was a rough day. I felt really really hungry on this liver shrinking diet. Today is day 7 and I weighed myself and I am down 14 pounds. Seeing this really motivated me to keep pushing. I just want to encourage others that are at the same stage as me to keep taking it one day at a time. My surgery date is approaching soon yayyyy! Not only have I motivated myself but I have also motivated my whole family to improve their lives by eating healthy. We have set up a special day each week to talk about our weight loss journey. My family is a great support during this time. So all my fellow soon to be banders and those who are already banded lets continue to support each other. We all Need it. I pray everyone has a blessed day and KEEP FIGHTING!
