I am 8 months post up and I started running again in November with the couch to 5K app. Now I'm doing up to 14 miles averaging 25 miles a week. I've also registered for a couple half marathons this year and I will move on to full marathons next year.... baby steps:) I do water or water/gatorade mix when I run for over 2hours. I also take GU with me. It has caffiene and I know we're not suppose to have that but I one use it on my long weekend runs. Post run I have chocolate milk and a scoop of protein for recovery. I also cut a banana in have and have a piece before my run with a slice of whole wheat toast and pnb, eat the other half after workout. I haven't had any reactions to anything... After burning 1600 calories during a run, I wanna eat the whole house but it's weird only being able to consume so much....I find the liquid goes down faster than trying to eat a meal post run since you have to get in in within 30 minutes. I also make a shake with the chocolate milk, scoop of pnb, chocolate protein, frozen banana pieces and a tsp of decaf coffee granules.....So yummy!

So I was wondering if any of you ladies have experienced loss of sensation in the nipple/breast after the excessive weight loss. I've lost 70lbs in 7 months went down 2 cup sizes. There is feeling in my nipple area but there is no sensation and it's hard explaining that to DH. since I have to weight till April to ask my doc, I was wondering if I'm alone on this one. TIA

6+ Months Out And Stalled For Last 2... Fail?
cooperstereo replied to BeachWithMyBabies's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am in the same boat as you and I actually got rid of my scale once for a couple weeks. I have my surgery on 10June at 228 and today Im at 158, which is about 20 lbs shy from my goal. My doc told me that I've met my max, so Im assuming the weight loss is now all up to me. Im training for a marathon and run about 20 miles a weeks with zero weight loss. I would lose a lb or 2 then it comes back and stays at 158. Im not a big eater becaue i still get full pretty quickly so I don't know if it's food. I may suggest changing your work out and food routine for a few weeks just to shake things up a bit. I totally understand how frustrating this can be, but I think if we stop obsessing about it and just continue to eat right and exercise it will happen... very slowly. -
Hi all, I was wondering if there are any vegetarian sleevers out there! Are there any good Protein sources other than tempeh, Beans, etc.? I don't want to live on shakes forever and I also want a variety of choices............ except meant of course! I eat fish, but it can get pretty boring eating the same thing everyday. I don't see my doc for another couple weeks so I was just wondering. Thanks in advance.

Vegetarian Gastric Sleevers
cooperstereo replied to cooperstereo's topic in Post-op Diets and Questions
Yeah, saag paneer and channa masala are two of my favorite dishes, but I don't know how to make them. I do the beans also but yet again, I run out of recipe ideas and it get boring. I don't like process foods, even the soy products... I kinda leave that option for emergencies and laziness actually:) I am training for a half marathon in June and don't want to suffer another injury, especially as a result of poor diet............ Thanks for the info. -
Gastric Sleeve Experts... Please Chime In!
cooperstereo replied to lillita's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
According to my surgeon, the sleeve is not recommended for people with a BMI of over 40, or if you have more than 100 lbs to lose, this is because of those ridiculous stats of only 65% weight loss. I am 5 1/2 months post op and for a 'normal BMI at 5'4'' I think I needed to lose 84lbs. I've lost 64 so far. I'm not great at math so maybe someone else can do the calculations for me LOL. Anyways, the last 20 lbs was not natural weight loss, I spent countless hours in the gym working it off, it's still slow but you definitely need to exercise once you're past month 4. -
Hi all, on 10th of October I will be 4 months post op, I was 228 on DOS and today I weigh 171. My goal is to have my BMI below 25 which is about 145lb, then I'll see how I feel about my body at that weight. My highest weight was around 240 and I didn't even know that because I went about 6 months without weighing my self. I was a sive 18-20, xxl and xl shirts and some of my maternity shirts from 2 years ago. Today I am comfortable wearing skinny jeans and I can fit a 12 now, size 14 pants are getting a tad saggy, I am also wearing dresses and high heels for the first time in years - it feels so good!! I try to exercise 3 times a week; I do zumba, Billy Blanks boot camp workout and I run on the tread mill. So I went from losing about 2-3 lbs a month to losing nothing the past 2 weeks and it scares the heck out of me, I have 27 lbs left to hit my 'normal weight' BMI and I'm hoping to get there for our holiday post card pics.

Anyone having problems with old obese friends?
cooperstereo replied to lunarose's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Sounds so familiar!!! I am almost 4 months post op and went from 228 on day of surgery to 174 now. I only told people when they asked what was I doing to lose weight, and my over weight friend started calling me a cheater for choosing surgery. This after she knew I was doing everthing else to lose weight, with minimal results. Now I am hesitant to mention the surgery to people because SHE made me feel as if I did something wrong. Also, now she calls me skinny mini also which I absolutely hate. I weighed 140lbs before kids and that's what I'm trying to get back to, it will also put my BMI in the 'normal' category. The weird thing is that even at 140lbs I was still dieting and trying to lose weight. Good luck on everything you guys and thanks for your posts. This site is like my therapist, dietician, nurse, and confidant all rolled into one and I'm so thankful I found a place to ask and say what I want. -
Give me A typical day of eating!!!!!
cooperstereo replied to Dud2Stud's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Im not a great eater, but I try to have a hard boiled eat and carnation breatfast essentials in the am. fruit and chevre cheese or just a string cheese for snack homemade tuna salad and garbanzo Beans for lunch slimfast Protein no sugar shake chicken breast for dinner with greanbeans I can only eat about two tablespoon of food so I always try to eat the protein first. I don't take protein supplements because I haven't found one I like. I also do decaf coffee and decaf sugar free chai lattes. I also have milk with no sugar hot chocolate some nights. I know the amount is so small compared to before the surgery but I feel satisfied and content when I'm done eating......... Not like I get hungry anyways. -
What was the worst part after surgery ?
cooperstereo replied to Dadams2102008's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I had 5 small incisions and none of them hurt after I woke up, the pain was actually gas pains in my stomach. apparently the fill the tummy wth air and once I started burping, things got better. Also the 4 days after surgery was torture for me.... Not the pain, but the need for water was insane. I just wanted water, that's all. -
how does ur tummy act when u eat too much?
cooperstereo replied to juzmejnee's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I had a very small piece of chicken breast that i think I ate too fast. I was very difficult to burp and it felt like something was rolling upwards in my stomach. I tried fighting it for 15 minutes but the pain got increasing worse. I finally went to the bathroom and it was the easiest throw up ever. What I mean is, there wasn't any wrenching and there was no stomach acid (which is weird), just the ball of food came up and I felt better. I know it's way too much information but I was wondering if anyone else thought it weird to no have the sour acid when you throw up/ -
Six months since surgery
cooperstereo replied to Foxbins's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
That is awesome, congratulations. -
Hello All! My surgery was on 10th June and my dietician tells me to start eating applesauce, soft eggs, canned fish and cottage cheese. I saw my surgeon today and he says I have not restrictions, eat what I can tolerate with an emphasis on Protein. I'm kinda confused because I'm still having strained Soups, broths, popsicles, and shakes. I haven't tried anything new since my first week post op. Please let me know when you all when back to regular foods and if it's too soon for me. I feel very protective of my sleeve and don't want to rush, but it's nice to know I can have whatever I want. My dietician also says I can't have Pasta or bread that's not toasted, but I've read somewhere that anything is ok in moderation.

You say its normal...but I still don't like it!
cooperstereo replied to MsNewBooty's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My surgery was on June 10th, and I've lost 28 lbs since then. I weigh myself once and week and I've noticed it has slowed down tremendously. I worry that it will be like this forever and I will not meet my goals. I talked to my dietician and she says that's the best way because the faster you lose, the looser your skin gets and the weight loss doesn't look natural. I was hoping to be out of the 200's, but 1 lb to go. we're all in there with the same issues and let's hope it gets better.
