Feeling Down, Obsessing Myself To Crazy Town
jujubeez3 replied to SlowLossingGal's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
Remember to be kind to yourself. You have come a long way, and your life has changed a lot in the last 7 months. -
I had chills as well, and still do almost a year post op. I bought a pair of smart wool long johns and wool socks. I love them! I used to be hot all the time, and it is such a relief to be able to put on layers!

Hello everyone, I have lost my motivation. I almost feel like I don't care, but I do. otherwise I wouldn't be on here. LOL I think I have been very successful. I have lost 100 pounds since surgery. I am healthy and no longer in physical pain. I still have 20 more pounds to go. I really want to get there, but when I am about to put unhealthy food in my mouth I tell myself that it is ok this time and that next time I will pass. And the passing hasn't happened. I haven't lost weight in over 2 months. My biggest problem is snacking! I am a stay at home mom with 2 young children. It can be stressful at times and they have 3 snacks a day, which I have been having with them. My surgeon's guide lines are to eat only 3 meals. I am an emotional eater. how do I stop? I am so scared that I will regain my weight if I don't get this emotional eating under control. Thank you

Get Thee Out, Damned Gallbladder!
jujubeez3 replied to mrsflyboybs's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I was having gallbladder attacks, starting at 6 weeks out. I had my gallbladder removed 2 months ago, when i was 8 months post op. I actually ended up having mine removed on an emergency basis 2 days before my surgery was scheduled. I just kept having attacks, that would land me in the ER. The surgery was a much faster recovery, and you will have more scaring. I am not sure if the easier recovery due to less weight I was hauling around or if it is just easier. I had the same gas pain as after the sleeve, I wasn't as soar, had less bruising. I would say that it took 4-5 weeks for me to feel completely normal again. with the sleeve it took 8-9 weeks before I felt like myself ( but I was learning how to eat again and on way fewer calories) You will be fine. It is so wonderful to have mine out! -
Still Feel Like I Am On A Diet! Gerrrrrr
jujubeez3 posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hello everyone, I don't post on here often, but I need some help. A little background... I started my pre-op diet in July 2011, lost 25 pounds pre-op. Had VSG on September 1, 2011. Everything has gone very well, down another 55 pounds since surgery, total of 80 pounds. Lately I have begun to feel like I am on a diet, and feeling resentful about it. For every meal I have to cook my family a meal and I cook myself a meal, and of course theirs is always way yummier. I guess I am missing starchy carbohydrates. I do let myself eat them but I feel guilty when I do. I am having trouble making this a lifestyle when I feel like I am on a diet. Does this feeling change once you are at goal and just maintaining? For some reason I thought that my per-op diet would be the last time I would have to diet. lol. I only have another 25-35 pounds to go till I will be at a normal BMI. Any world of advice?? Thank you -

For Those Who Got Gastric Sleeve Surgery And Have Toddlers Or Small Children
jujubeez3 replied to Liliana Arleen's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My children were 1 and 3 when I was sleeved. I was given the ok to resume all activities at 2 weeks. I did pick them up a few times before the 2 weeks, by accident. I was able to give them baths, diaper changes, do bed time before 2 weeks. The biggest problem I had was running out of energy. My husband went back to work when I was 3 weeks out. I was able to care for my girls and feed them, but nothing else got done. At 6 weeks I began to have energy again! I was feeling normal. I could cook and clean and go for a walk. Have your daughter climb onto your lap for snuggles, or you can lay down beside her when she goes to sleep. Just listen to your body, if something doesn't feel right, don't do it. Hope your recovery goes good!
