  1. That feeling below the sternum probably means you are full and intaking a bit too fast. What you have consumed needs to have a chance to flow into your new small tummy/tube. It doesnt take much to fill that new tube at 5 days you are definitely on liquids so sip sip sip take your time. When you are on solids as I am now you still get that feeling while trying to eat. I am 3months post op .

    Listen

Listen You are not my friend, we don't hang out, laugh, share, encourage each other, support each other. You are not my buddy- I don't call you when i need advice, input, a smack in the head. And yet, I can't hate you-- I adore you I cannot survive without you You make my life miserable, yet complete me You can give me all I need to survive and all I need to destroy myself But I don't want to just survive, I want to thrive, live, yell at the top of my lungs... There's more than just you out there in the world. So, let's start a new relationship based on those facts... Truly we cannot live without one another. But I wish to take from you what I truly need and disregard the rest. I want to add words like savor, moderation, slow, nurture, and sustenance to our relationships So that I can add words like, delve, extreme, full-out, satisfy, create, embrace, and exuberant to the rest of my life. So, LIsten... Things are changing around here. You be what you are: fuel and sustenance and a nurturing source And I'll be what I am wild, free, sexy, alive, joyful, ready, unstoppable, complete, whole, enlivened, grateful, FULL, loving, amazing, incredible.... Let's watch our boundaries, shall we, you and I? I'm pretty clear on mine.

    Waiting

I keep waiting for something to happen, waiting to feel sick, feel pain, be annoyed I keep waiting for something to happen; waiting to wake up thin, be on my way. I keep waiting for something to start, Like a jack in the box will pop up and yell "Go" But I failed to realize that I won't hear him... I'm already too far down the track. I keep waiting waiting for a door to open or a switch to flip, a starting gun to sound, but I seem to be forgetting the gun sounded weeks ago. I keep waiting for movement but I woke this morning to realize I've started counting the quality of my days in light of future endeavors, the quantity of my days in light of decades to come.... I've been waiting for someone to do something.... SILLY ME, I'VE BEEN DOING IT ALL ALONG.

two weeks out- what is everyone eating?

I'm exactly two weeks out today and still on the full liquids and will be for the next two weeks....I'm planning on calling my surgeon though and asking if that included purees now... Shakes, yogurt, water, blended soups ( I buy many different flavors, in light, or course, and put them in the food processor). I tried a couple table spoons of peanut butter in 12 ounces of fat free milk and two scoops of vanilla protein powder. I broke it down into three 4 oz servings....it was great...I miss peanut butter!! My roomate cooked pot roast with potatoes and carrots Sunday; we took all of that and a good deal of the stock that was created and processed that into soup..tasted just like Sunday dinner should! There is a "for dummies" cookbook out there for weight loss surgery patients find really good. can't wait to try some of the recipes! I keep feeling like there is something wrong with me because I don't seem to be having any issues ! I can get my fluids in, if I drink them too fast, it doesn't seem to really matter...I accidentally did 8 ounces in thirty minutes yesterday instead of 4 and no biggie....It makes me worry that something didn't work! I'm actually looking forward to the day something screams "STOP" so I can have the reassurance that everything is as it should be!! Anyone else with that issue? I'd love to hear your input.

    5 days out!

I do two things: 1, I eat Greek Yogurt...I usually buy it plain and mix a flavor in....Greek yogurt has about 13-15 grams of Protein per serving. 2, I fill a 24 ounce mixer cup with Water, a flavor packet like crystal light, one packet of sugar sub, and then two scoops of plain Protein powder. I keep this with me all the time; my schedule is to eat some sort of thick or dairy based "drink" during one hour and a water based in the next, so...every other hour I drink 4 oz of my water mix. By the end of the day, that gives me 43 protein on top of whatever else I have had...Hope this helps. I get my protein from the GNC website...

    oops

Wow! So I keep thinking "I should get back to work." I'm feeling great...Yesterday was 7 days out and I went out to town for the first time. Did a little grocery shopping, rode around with a friend...I was out for about 4-5 hours...by the time I got home I felt like I had been hit by a truck!! So much for going back to work early!
  7. I am five days post op and trying to figure out what full feels like. Is it this pain I'm having right now right below my sternum?
  8. I am five days out and I am sooo tired of sleeping on my back!! I totally hear where you are coming from...I have been sleeping in my recliner for 3 days now. I think I'm going to try my bed tonight and see what happens.

    First blog...

Drinking too fast!! I'm on day five and I feel like I want to get back to work already...then I drink something a little too quickly and am reminded that it is a good thing I took the full two weeks off!!

    5 days out!

I'm not really feeling any hunger at all. I'm having a hard time just getting all the liquid in I need! Perhaps you are experiencing more head hunger than anything else?
