How Did You Decide On A Goal Weight?
Lluna replied to eyeononederland's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I'm 5'10 and my starting weight was 249 and my goal was 180. Well I'm at 179 and now I want to get down to 160. I've drop from a size 20 to a size 12 and trying to get to size 10 which the only time in my life I was a size 10 was for my wedding 16 years ago and with a good supply of phen phen pills. There have been people that tells me that I'm at a good weight and not to lose any more, but sometime your mind just wants more. Well see how I look at 160. -

Wow congrats !!!! I love Zumba, I take 5-6 classes a week.
-
I was banded August 2011, with only 2 fills, I have lost 70lbs. I usually don't count my calories, but I workout 5 and sometimes even 6 days a week. Usually I take 5 Zumba clases a week, I have plateau for the past 2 months so now on top of taking Zumba I'm now taking body pump and body step to see if that would make the scale move.

I have the small band 4cc (I was selfpay and had my surgery in Mexico) and so far I only needed to have two fills. The first one was 5 weeks post op and the second one was in November. There is days that I have good restriction and some days that I can eat more, but I think that goes for most bandsters. Usually my day consists of a protein shake (25grams) for breakfast, chicken, or salmon with a salad for lunch, and usually another protein shake for dinner or any left overs from lunch. And lots of water. I'm down to the size that I was when I got married 16 years ago.

I was banded 8/19/11 and to this day I've lost almost 70lbs, only about 15 from my goal weight. You can add my to your friends list, take this journey on a by day basis. The best of luck to you.

My surgery was 8/19/11 with a BMI of 35 and a weight of 248, as of today I'm down almost 70 lbs.

Wow it's amazing that you had the lap band done so young, you said that you have the older version? How big is your band ? Is it the 4cc's I had my surgery done August 2011, I live in Las Vegas, Nevada USA. But my surgery was done in Mexico.

My husband and I did this together, both self pay, best investment ever !!! -
I'm so frustrated, I've been in the same boat between 181-185 for the last month or so, and I can't get the scale to move so mad !!!! I take 5 Zumba classes a week sometimes even 6 a week, and I work with a trainer. It seems like my body it's holding on to this last 25 lbs that I need to get to my goal weight. Any suggestions will be appreciated!!!

I agree with all of the above post, my surgery was 8 months ago, with a BMI of 35 and I have lost close to 70 lbs. But I have work hard at it, I don't expect the band to do everything for me. I actually have only 2 fills so far, and I know I'm in the need to get another one, (my surgeon is 6 hour drive) but even If I can get just about anything past my band, I have make a conscious decision of not failing one more time in my life. I can honestly say that for the first time in my life I actually enjoy working out, I go to the gym 5 and even 6 times a week. But most of all I like the new me.
