I quit smoking 2 months prior to surgery becasue it does help healing not to smoke. However I do smoke when I have a few drinks which is only once or three times a month. I don't smoke going to work with coffee, I don't smoke during work and I don't smoke when I come home, I don't miss it during those times but when I have a few drinks thats when I crave it.

Low BMI of 38 would you do the surgery or have you done the sleeve?
ME123 replied to Zen's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I'm 5'9", and I had a BMI of 35, I had 2 comorbidities, osteoarthritis in both knees and high cholesterol. I had this surgery in Oct and was going to go back to work after a week, but then Hurricane Sandy hit and I got another week off but I could have gone back to work in that first week and I am in Law Enforcement!!. This surgery was THE best thing I have ever done in my entire life. I didn't live my life I just existed, all my friends would go and do things that I loved to do but because of my weight I NEVER went. My marriage was going in the shitter because of my weight, I sat on the couch and did NOTHING. My husband is the happiest I have ever seen him, and trust me he did NOT want me to get this done, little did he know he had no choice. That is my honest Opinion, you need to make up your mind what is best for you! Good luck with your decision, you have alot of help here on this board. -
I use Trader Joe's chewable multivitamin and minerals, I like the flavor they aren't expensive and their supposed to be really good for you.

4 months out and i binged yesterday
ME123 replied to jjxraygirl's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
No, I can't binge, my tummy won't let me. I do eat alot of protein though. I know easier said than done, but, just don't buy the crap stuff so it's not in the house. I was told to stay away from sugar and bread, pasta and rice and I think a cupcake falls under those. You went through all that work only to undo waht you dd. You can do it, you lost 63 already, your doing great! -

Walk as much as you can, I walked a big circle around my kitchen, dinning room and livingroom. As much as I didn't want to it soooo helped. My doc also gave me Zofran and liquid percecet I took them together so I wouldnt get sick. The liquid perc's helped me sleep, the Zofran helped the sick feeling. I also slept on the couch propped up by pillows, I didn't sleep flat for about 5 days. After the 5th day it was like a light switch went on and I felt 80 percent better, I could have gone back to work thats how good I felt, so it will and does get soo much better. Oh yea and someone else wrote drink warm liquid, that is so true it felt so much better in my tummy, I drank Caffiene free Sleepy Time tea, it was soothing and relaxed me.

Can you maybe get the bottles that you are using and type what they say please :0) I looked up what you wrote already and there are a ton of Phyto products so I don't know which ones to use. I am having minimal hairloss but I would love to try these. Thank you for your help.

Even if you can tolerate pasta bread rice and sugar does not mean you eat it. I can tolerate all of that, but I don't eat it, my NUT said that it blows up your tummy and can stretch it out a little, so I stay away. I was eating to much a month ago and was told to cut everything in half, now I can on,y eat a few oz's of protein and a tiny bit of veggies and thats it. I still drink an Isopure shake in the morning wich contains 50mgs of protein, I mix it with water but I like them after I workout, I will never stop drinking them, great protein and taste great to.

I;m glad that I'm not the only slow loser out there!!!!...lol I'm also glad that YOU'RE gonna start excercising, it makes you feel so good!

Sleeved 10/18, 5'9", DOS weight was 239 I'm now 203, I'm a really slow loser, I eat right and I'm in the gym for an hour every morning and I still lose slow. The plus side to that is I am having minimal hairloss and no loose skin at all. I just get upset that I see everyone else lose all this weight and here I am with a drop in the bucket. I do have to remember that everyone is different and loses at a different pace. I think we are all doing great!!!
