Wooohooo, surgery 10/18. Doing clear liquids today, no preop diet though. I hope everyone does great!!! We can do this people!!! SOOOO Excited!!

Try Pedialite, they have packets that you can add to water. I also found Pedialte freeze pops. I'm preop but I bought both of these just in case.

I just got back from my PCP's office, had a physical, she took down all the information that needs to be sent to my surgeon for medical clearance, I cant wait for 10/18, It's like time is slowing down. The days are going by so so slow. I dont even want to go to work, I just want to stay home and daydream about getting this surgery. I was waiting for the scared emotion to hit me but, NOPE, just butterflys in the stomach excitement!!! Anyone else excited and NOT scared for their special day to arrive?

I was told by the pre-admission nurse not to bring anything of value, it could get "lost". She did say I could bring my toothbrush, toothpaste and deoderant, oh and chapstick, but thats it for me. Like proudgrammy said they supply nightgown and slipper socks. I'm only staying overnight, hopefully but for overnight I dont need much.

I didnt lose any weight seeing my NUT, I couldnt go below the BMI of 35 or else my insurance would not pay, so I sort of stayed the same. Then, I quit smoking and gained 2 pounds. Now I'm eating a ginormous amount of food, because I'm pmsing and feel like I'm not going to eat my favoraite foods for a while, so off I went on a food tangent!!! I dont have to do a pre-surgery diet just clear liquids the day before. I want to start eating healthy but I cant help myself....

My doctor did not put me on a pre-op liquid diet, I am to have only clear liquids the day before. Why do some docs do that and others don't?

I read on someones blog, either here or at OH that taking zinc 50mg every three days helps with hairloss. I also read here or at OH that Biosil works also. I am pre-op so I dont know for sure if all this works but I bought all of it and will try it. I do know that you have to be very careful with zinc though, I'm going to talk to my doc prior to usage. I even bought Nioxin. I have alopecia areata and cannot afford to lose anymore hair, I have three bald spots hidden by alot of hair, that are being treated with cortisone shots in my head. Hmmmm....I wonder if the shots will work at the thinning spots on peoples heads, I'm going to ask my dermatologist when I go back the end of Oct. This is my one and only part of the WHOLE surgery that I am scared of.

Hi Everyone, I just finished my pre-admission testing, my date is 10/18/12!!! I hope everything is okay with all the tests, my PCP needs to clear me for surgery. I'm so excited, not nervous really maybe when my date gets closer but I doubt it, I'm so ready for this.

Congrats on your date mysunflower621, we have the same Doc. My date is 10/18. at Morristown Memorial. I really like Dr. Nusbaum, he and his staff are great.

I'm in NJ, getting sleeved in October in Morristown. My Dr. is in Livingston, NJ.

I got the Orthovisc shots in my knee and WOW did that help. I'm pre-op so I'm hoping that taking the weight off will help even more. I highly recommend getting these shots. You can get them over and over also, not like the other shot where you can only get 2 per year or something like that.

Wooohooo, I was approved. I am so happy I think my date is 10/11, at least that is what it says on the health insurance screen where it says approved. Yippeeeeeee!!!!! Oh I have waited so long for this, I can't believe it.

Thanks everyone, It feels surreal still. Yes I have been reading since I started my journey, so hopefully I am ready, I can feel it in my heart that I'm ready. I have to start the clean out and I already started getting the things I need for post op minus the Protein shakes since I have been reading that some peoples tastes change so I will see what happens with me. I do have the unjury starter kit, and the Isopure grape and fruit punch for the Clear Liquids phase. My date has changed since this morning to 10/18, my surgeon only does sleeves at a certain hospital so it had to be changed. Thank you so much everyone for being here, I can't wait to see you on the losers bench.( I couldn't wait to say that!!!) Oh and my doctor doesn't do a pre op diet so I will just watch what I eat and go to the gym to prepare.

Finally approved, I am 10/11.!!

I quit 2 months ago because I dont want to get ulcers, thats what my NUT said. BUT I used to roll my own, I bought the rolling machine, the tubes and the tobacco and the cost was approx. 2 bucks a pack. I'm still craving them, but am scared to have one for fear of not healing well and getting ulcers and letting people down. So here I sit buttless!!
