I quit smoking 2 months prior to surgery becasue it does help healing not to smoke. However I do smoke when I have a few drinks which is only once or three times a month. I don't smoke going to work with coffee, I don't smoke during work and I don't smoke when I come home, I don't miss it during those times but when I have a few drinks thats when I crave it.

Low BMI of 38 would you do the surgery or have you done the sleeve?
ME123 replied to Zen's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I'm 5'9", and I had a BMI of 35, I had 2 comorbidities, osteoarthritis in both knees and high cholesterol. I had this surgery in Oct and was going to go back to work after a week, but then Hurricane Sandy hit and I got another week off but I could have gone back to work in that first week and I am in Law Enforcement!!. This surgery was THE best thing I have ever done in my entire life. I didn't live my life I just existed, all my friends would go and do things that I loved to do but because of my weight I NEVER went. My marriage was going in the shitter because of my weight, I sat on the couch and did NOTHING. My husband is the happiest I have ever seen him, and trust me he did NOT want me to get this done, little did he know he had no choice. That is my honest Opinion, you need to make up your mind what is best for you! Good luck with your decision, you have alot of help here on this board. -
I use Trader Joe's chewable multivitamin and minerals, I like the flavor they aren't expensive and their supposed to be really good for you.

4 months out and i binged yesterday
ME123 replied to jjxraygirl's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
No, I can't binge, my tummy won't let me. I do eat alot of protein though. I know easier said than done, but, just don't buy the crap stuff so it's not in the house. I was told to stay away from sugar and bread, pasta and rice and I think a cupcake falls under those. You went through all that work only to undo waht you dd. You can do it, you lost 63 already, your doing great! -
Walk as much as you can, I walked a big circle around my kitchen, dinning room and livingroom. As much as I didn't want to it soooo helped. My doc also gave me Zofran and liquid percecet I took them together so I wouldnt get sick. The liquid perc's helped me sleep, the Zofran helped the sick feeling. I also slept on the couch propped up by pillows, I didn't sleep flat for about 5 days. After the 5th day it was like a light switch went on and I felt 80 percent better, I could have gone back to work thats how good I felt, so it will and does get soo much better. Oh yea and someone else wrote drink warm liquid, that is so true it felt so much better in my tummy, I drank Caffiene free Sleepy Time tea, it was soothing and relaxed me.

Can you maybe get the bottles that you are using and type what they say please :0) I looked up what you wrote already and there are a ton of Phyto products so I don't know which ones to use. I am having minimal hairloss but I would love to try these. Thank you for your help.

Even if you can tolerate pasta bread rice and sugar does not mean you eat it. I can tolerate all of that, but I don't eat it, my NUT said that it blows up your tummy and can stretch it out a little, so I stay away. I was eating to much a month ago and was told to cut everything in half, now I can on,y eat a few oz's of protein and a tiny bit of veggies and thats it. I still drink an Isopure shake in the morning wich contains 50mgs of protein, I mix it with water but I like them after I workout, I will never stop drinking them, great protein and taste great to.

I;m glad that I'm not the only slow loser out there!!!!...lol I'm also glad that YOU'RE gonna start excercising, it makes you feel so good!

Sleeved 10/18, 5'9", DOS weight was 239 I'm now 203, I'm a really slow loser, I eat right and I'm in the gym for an hour every morning and I still lose slow. The plus side to that is I am having minimal hairloss and no loose skin at all. I just get upset that I see everyone else lose all this weight and here I am with a drop in the bucket. I do have to remember that everyone is different and loses at a different pace. I think we are all doing great!!!

how do you know when your full
ME123 replied to haleyj134's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I thought eating till I felt the tight feeling in my tummy was when I was supposed to stop, NOPE, my doc said I was eating to much. So now I eat until I feel a tiny bit full, and I have started to eat slower and low and behold my nose runs a little when I'm supposed to stop. I ate really fast before but since slowing down I have that runny nose trigger. I do hate that I still have food left on my plate cause I hate to waste but someone told me a long time ago, whether you throw it in the garbage or poop it out it all ends up in the same place...LOL My husband and I went to Breakfast this morning and I had that last bite and before I swallowed it I knew I was done so I spit it out in a napkin, had I swallowed it I would have had that slight pain I'm not supposed to have. -
Holy cow, what a visual. I'm so glad I got my sleeve and am on the way to HEALTHY!

Any October 23Rd Sleevers Out There?
ME123 replied to happytobehere's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Measurements mean ALOT, I was sleeved on Oct. 18th and I am now down 31 pounds, BUT my cloths are now very very loose and I am by-passing size 16 pretty much, and will be in a 14 before I know it. I plan on taking my measurements again tomorrow and know I will see several inches gone, EXCEPT my boobs, for some reason they never seem to go away whenever I lost weight in the past, my husband loves it but me, not so much! I'm eating anything I want only in small portions, I have even eaten pizza, homemade and healthy, it seems the more I eat the more I lose weight. Constipation has been somewhat of an issue but between Colace and fiber gummies I think I have it under control. This has been great, the best thing I ever did, I Love my sleeve, I feel normal again and I can lose weight finally! -

ME123 posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I just made the Emily Bites cheeseburger cupcakes, They came out so good, I didn't make the double ones in the big cupcake tray, I made them single with one Wonton wrapper in the mini tray, less carbs. If I didn't have my sleeve I would have eaten then entire cupcake tray!! Please try them, they are the best! i'm gonna start making more of her recipes. -
Is anyone sorry they did it?
ME123 replied to melsue's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I LOVE MY SLEEVE, I wish I never cancelled that first appt. and then waited a year to get another one. I'm so happy I finally can bend at the knees with no pain, my cholesterol went down over 100 points and my unhappiness went away, I love going out and I love putting on my skinny jeans with ease! I can eat whatever I want with no problems and I am only 8 weeks out, this is truly the BEST thing I have ever done for myself EVER!!!! -

I just got back from the doc's office on Monday 12/3, and he said I am cleared for alcohol and basically anything I want to eat that agrees with me, which is everything. I have had a few glasses of wine and I am still losing weight. I don't drink alot though, I have to be up early for work and hate that icky feeling in the morning, so I'm good with my one or two glasses on a Friday or Saturday. I have not had any side effects from the alcohol, I don't get drunk and I don't act weird, I feel the same as I did pre-surgery.
