I just had my third fill and, like the previous two, it was sheer torture! He can find my port, but he says that since it is sitting at an angle, it is hard to find the right spot for the fill. This time he had to pull the needle out, give me another double dose of the numbing shot, and then he went in again to find the right spot.
It is so horrifying and traumatic for me to get my fills that I am seriously considering not getting another. I asked about getting an x-ray, but he said that it wouldn't be helpful because the port moves around and isn't always in the same spot. They do not use fluoroscope, and I don't know if there is any other options.
My friend goes with me and gets her fill at the same time. Hers always goes so easy so I think that maybe mine will be better this time, but it is always bad.
