i'm starving!!!! liquid diet pre op!!!!
jellybelly replied to shellyj's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Hi Michelle! Boy am I glad I didn't have to do a post op diet for my surgery! I had no restrictions until the night before my surgery (nothing after 8 PM). My surgery was 7 AM. I'm not very knowledgeable about the medical field, however, I think it's odd to restrict a person's food/nutritional intake before surgery unless there's some medical purpose that outweighs your need for nutrients pre-surgery. Anyway, I ate around 7:00 PM the night before my surgery and all was fine! Good luck! Jen Dr. Currie 241/207/150 -
I am so glad to be part of such a growing "community!" I was "banded" on May 15, 2003. I started at 241 and am now down to 207 I have received so much help from posts on the spotlight site... I never registered, just read. I decided to join to give something back by helping others as you all have helped (and continue to help) me. Thanks again! Jen

Hi Lori! Congratulations on how well you've been doing! I lost a lot at first and am now losing 1-2 pounds per week. I started exercising four weeks ago. I started off riding the exercise bike five days per week, 15 minutes per day and am now up to five days per week, 30 minutes per day. And I was someone who NEVER exercised! I had one fill on July 2 of 1.5 cc's. I have another fill scheduled for August 7th. I feel good, but I've been eating more than I should be. I eat about 1-2 cups at a time, three meals per day. Sometimes I eat an evening snack of something lowfat. I am not in a support group... just what I get online. It seems like most people where I live (in Southcentral PA) are getting the gastric bypass surgery and I don't feel like I can relate to them as well! Jen

Alexandra, I can totally relate to the feelings you are expressing. I had my surgery on May 15 of this year and had much of the same thoughts you are having. One of the things I kept telling myself was "where will you be if you don't have this surgery?" It felt like life or death to me and I chose life by having the surgery. When I first came to after the surgery, I thought "why in the world did I do this?" But since then, I've NEVER regretted it. I've lost 34 pounds and exercise every day. I'm so glad I chose life!! I hope this was helpful... Jen
