  1. That would drive me batty. I found the South 'B*tch' diet most effective b4 VSG but quickly realized that even a single raisin sets me off on a food frenzy. So ive avoided that stuff...even those healthy foods are my 'crap'. When i think that i used to eat rice or pasta or potatoes every single day, i get depressed knowing that carrots and blueberries are 'cheating' for me. I don't even make quinoa because im afraid I won't be able to control not eating the whole cup. Sorry u cannot exercise now. Are u certain there's nothing u can do? Even seated? When i am restricted that way, my personal trainer finds something to keep me moving.
  2. Thanks, Laura. Last yrat this time, i was 188. Now im 199. Not exactly losing.
  3. Agree with ann on this. Laura, i do want to say that two surgeons wanted to do bypass on me. I wanted vsg. When the second surgeon completed my VSG he stated emphatically that if *i* had asked for bypass before he did the procedure, he wouldve closed me up and walked, away from my surgery because it was totally not suitable for me. I don't understand the medical reason for that...but something told me to ask for VSG. You may be right abt malabsorption . In my case, i absorb everything EXCEPT fats! I have no vitamin /mineral deficiencies. Like i say, i dont have any 'crappy 'food in the house but i do have good food. Berries, nuts, carrots, peppers, mushrooms, plain yoghurt, kale, chickpeas...etc and boy do i graze thru the day on those.
  4. Laura i was pondering if age and ot starting weight had bearing on success. I was 67 when i had the VSG. My starting weight there was 360 something but i was down from 428 with pills and exercise. I do believe it is habit that is a strong contributer to success. A mind set for 67 years is not easy to shift. I think it akin to making an honest person turn to thievery. U need a real traumA to cause the change. Apparently, surgery isn't invasive enough...if invasive isthe correct word here.
  5. Hey...we should all saddle up Rocinante and ride after a skinny quest! Im changing my handle to Donna Quixote...(rocinante was the name of his horse)
  6. Ms skinniness...why? Hair doesn’t weigh much. .
  7. Vsg ann u asked me what i meant by blueprint. I responded "magic wand". Then later on msj to laurak cited the emily Dickenson poem abt a plilgrim looking for a path toward....whatever!
  8. Laurak...oatmeal...droool! Are u familiar with emily Dickenson's poem "will there really be a morning?" Google it. The last 4 lines are what i mean by blue print. I need hope!
  9. We know its not easy peasy. My question was to laurak when she said "every diet works". And I dont think therapy doesn't work. In fact, my life is proof that IT IS working. I'm responding to an angry tone o sense in your message. Did i misread it?
  10. Samelton68...yeah that prickled.
  11. Sorry...hit send prematurely. ..please don't suggest therapy. I think we all "been there, done (ir still doing) that." This outcome is exactly the one i feared before i went into the surgery. Remember all the joking posts about needing brain surgery not stomach. That had a hollow ring to it. Im glad i did it: experiencing more than i ever dreamed i could. But struggling like mad to just STAY THERE.
  12. I hear ya! But what i wish is a blue print showing us HOW to ' 'get over' FOOD ISSUES.
  13. Laurak712, i can and do ignore the pain and fullness and eat anyway.
  14. Laurak I'd give my eye teeth to be able to eat rice and potatoes without being triggered to eat the whole damn refrigerator and cupboard (mine and yours) several times over. I think SOME of us carbaholics have tried that aporoach many times with the same dismal results. This don't mean we did it wrong. Just that it backfires on us. If i eat certain fruits i get so hungry (peach or plumb for example) i simply have no control over eating. If that had worked for me, i wouldn't have opted for a sleeve surgery. Im glad you found what works for you and hope it continues to bring u satisfaction
  15. Laurak712 u seem to be the exception that proves the rule. I wonder if people who started at a lower weight have a better chance of keeping it off. I wonder if younger people have a better chance. Ir maybe a combination of the two.
  16. Sleevegirl, lets hear from you again in a couple of years. Good luck

Healthy, judy. ..i,did try the aloe vera juice and find it totally vile...even mixed with flavored drinks. I'll stick with acacia fiber, ground flax seeds, probiotoc chewable from bluebonnet, 14 walnut halves. I mix nuts seed and powder with yoghurt in a.m. 20 min later, I'm good.
  22. Shaylove...try setting rules: no grazing thru the day. I have said i am not eating anything BAD but im constantly eating good for me food. So i am drinking M U C H more.
