Weight Gained Since Having Gastric Sleeve Surgery
reallyrosy replied to sleeve 4 me's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Because i am mad at the world and dont give a sh!t any more. I have a stress fracture in my knee and even with pain went to gym with personal trainer 3x a week. But i panicked and freaked out and decided i am never going to find any relief from chronic depression. I do EVERYTHING right and nothing goes my way anyhow so why bother any more?? I cant live my life writing down everything i eat. I DONT WANT TO DO THAT. I give up. That's why. Why aren't you tracking what you eat? Without tracking I'd never reach my Protein goals since I can't remember what I did 10 minutes ago. Tracking protein (at the very least) is a major success factor as far as I am concerned. Getting back to basics may help you get back on track. Embrace the Stall! http://BariatricPal.com/index.php?/topic/351046-Embrace-the-Stall -

Zzzombrie....do u know any negative shrinks? I did meet a guy who was rabidly opposed to bariatric surgery. He had some sort of contraption in his office that once he felt u r ready, he hooked u up to this'game' on his puter....but idiocy to the side, i have met mostly positive shrinkos. I just got dx of a stress fracture in my knee. Im grounded...and eating like an ass. Happy new year -
Yeah! You did it. Good.

Oregon daisy, how was the back surgery? You survived it! Not a time to be down about weight and diet. Should be celebrating this milestone. And, you know what? You were abke to do it before. You got a head start now We know nuthin is ever going to be handed to us and it sure isnt gonna get easy just cuz....but one thing we hold onto: we did it before...we know it is within us to do it...just focus on your rehab and tackle amy other probs after. You are a formidable fighter...dont forget that. Ps: nobody told me not to diet after my hernua surgery but i didnt heal until i added some complex carbs. ...u got the right advice. -

Afraid I'll gain the weight back...
reallyrosy replied to sweettea's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
We will ALWAYS have this fear. It is logical to fear it. Fat cell theories show that once we have them, they will plague us forever wanting to be refilled. I am 3.5 years out. I struggle to stay under 200. I didnt imagine it would be easy b u t i did not anticipate a return to grazing almost 24/7. I do not TOUCH bread, crackers, Pasta, rice, ANY white carbs. I eat limited berries an apple once in a blue moon. We CANNOT eat constantly, even if it is GOOD food and expect to maintain goals. I am unable to yank myself away from this life long habit. Exercise. ...yes, follow no drinking rule ...i DO break that one....but i am no way stable . I think i should learn to embrace this chaotic weight struggle and relax! Guess that will be my next therapy goal! -
Despicable thoughts
reallyrosy replied to WL WARRIOR's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
Wl warrior...thanks for revealing your thoughts about seeing other "fat" people. That has been my thinking ever since i lost weight...not nec with surgery, either. I am convinced that it stems from self hatred. I cant look in the mirror if i am fat. I tear myself apart for being fat. I think the thoughts are externalizing my true feelings about myself. That makes even the slightest gain especially anxiety provoking. Im not alone! -

Aj...good luck and visit again in 2.5 years! -
Yeah true, vsgann...i get enough protien from my eggs meat and cheese. One thing the "fat doc" (surgeon) emphasized...or dictated was "NO LIQUIDS WITH CALORIES" I tend to be a rigid rule follower...

Im finding people who struggle to maintain weight after passing a 3 year mark. The first 3 years seem like magic in comparison. What do other long term sleevers experience? Several of us have been discussing this issue on "wt gained after sleeve" but people who are recently sleeved are writing about stalls. What we are experiencing is NOT a stall but an actual trend of weight gained. Sometimes in spite of sticking to same regimen (diet and exercise ) and sometimes because of physical difficulties interfering. Words of wisdom, anyone? We dont want to face total failure.

3+years out milestone?
reallyrosy replied to reallyrosy's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Sassy the thing is you DON'T feel that way at all. And you,DON'T balloon up. It starts out with one or two lbs up and the down . I became confident i could manage that. It always came off agsin. Now im 202. Yesterday 1 was nearer 204. Im trying to get down to 199. 188 was my goal...and i made that last year...but its so much more difficult now. -

3+years out milestone?
reallyrosy replied to reallyrosy's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Wow. Did not expect these in depth informational replies. Thanks to all. Immediately, either i am in denial or i honestly do not eat the "wrong" food. My diet has not changed and my exercise regimen has not decreased. But the amt of "good" food i eat HAS increased and my sense of hunger after a meal is NOT satisfied. The fat cells, i knew about from long ago. The shrink thinking its because nobody says snything? Meh! I never wanted to be noticed in the first place. No, i been with shrinks since i am 17 years old maybe thats an issue for some, but not me. -
Weight Gained Since Having Gastric Sleeve Surgery
reallyrosy replied to sleeve 4 me's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Missy et al, I went back and looked at the original query and missy is right..it wasnt originally limited to 3+yrs out. How we hijacked it to mean that, i dunno...did not read thru all the years. But these discussions DO meander. I guess we ought to set up a new topic?? How about: 3+years after VSG maint.? Or gain? Or struggling 3+yrs out? -
Weight Gained Since Having Gastric Sleeve Surgery
reallyrosy replied to sleeve 4 me's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
This discussion is for people who are several years out from the surgery and ARE experiencing wt gain enough to make us worry. It is not for recently op'd or for just 2 or 3 yrs out. Its not for newly sleeves or even 18 months. Most of us were good the first couple of years. Get it?
