Bad Taste In Mouth
reallyrosy replied to reallyrosy's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Absolutely disgusting. We wuz robbed! This should've been discussed ....maybe. I dunno. Everything else is weird...I broke out with a rash...all over me and I wasn't told @ that either. My body has a memory for food related activities such that turing left here will mean desert there and my mouth begins to Water even tho the promise of help isn't there. I don't feel hungry. But my body knows that 8 days ago it could sink its teeth into someone...now my body has to be taught to heel and heal literally! Could this have been predicted? I don't think so. I don't even know if there's some way to avoid this. Are u driving yet? I have a sneaking suspicion that my surgeon forbid driving because of the ketosis which, I think, I will use as an excuse to be a zombie...just because I'm feeling mischievous. I need a new hobby! -

Bad Taste In Mouth
reallyrosy replied to reallyrosy's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Well, I did go for the walk and I gotta say I'm doing pretty good in that I can walk more upright and don't have to top to catch my breath as often as before. I'm mousewashing with listerine less intense and I don't think my breath is stinky...it just tastes that way to us. Had warm broth after my walk and watched the news. It is the idle time that is the killer. Thank gd I'm not hungry. Can see food and ads on tv and they do not entice me. However, I am noticing more the direct relationship between food and anger. I was very uneasy this a.m. when some folks were congratulating me on the surgery and asking about it. I wanted to snap "none of your d*&^ bizness" but just answered each q with a forcefl, factual ans (I.e. do u feel hungry?" NO!) I also moved the car and am pretty sure I can drive as I haven't taken any pin meds at all. But where will I go? Shopping is ladden with triggers. Need to learn to knit or something. Thanks for sharing -
Bad Taste In Mouth
reallyrosy replied to reallyrosy's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My tongue is still pink. Thanks for the reassurance. I don't feel like I'm starving. Thank Gd for that! I don't know what to do with myself, though. Since last Monday its been constant support. Now I find myself alone for the first time and wondering what to do. I do have a hobby but it involves being creative and that doesn't happen when you want it. Oh, no. Old patterns coming to haunt me. No. I'm going for a walk...like or not. Ttyl -

How Soon Did You Start Working Out After Gastric Sleeve Surgery, Other Questions
reallyrosy replied to Liliana Arleen's topic in Fitness & Exercise
I'm 8 days out now and plan to start land based workouts in two weeks. I still do not understand about not chugging Water. Will someone PLEASE explain it so it makes sense to me not to drink when I'm thirsty? Will drinking more than a 'sip' (and I may actually throttle the next person who says that word to me) damage the sleeve? I mostly can swallow larger than a sip without pain or reflux. So does that mean somethings wrong with my sleeve? Thanks -

Tomorrow Is The Big Gastric Sleeve Surgery Day!
reallyrosy replied to Less of Leslie's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Today, Monday, is my day, too. Pleased to share it with you. Had a horrendous trip to the hospital...lost control of my bowels and just couldn't continue riding in car. Until we found a store with a public rest room.... Now in hotel. Surgery at 11 45 but check in at 10 45. Playing games on my android to pass the time. Good luck to you. Let's share when done! -
Maybe you need to contact the hospital and ask them to reimburse you for the hernia repair. Or maybe the hosp billed insurance for the hernia repair only? You have the answers. Think it thru before getting riled up and jumping to unnec. Conclusions.

Medicare Coverage For Gastric Sleeve Surgery?
reallyrosy replied to monty's topic in Insurance & Financing
Thank you, Betty! My friend and I are staying in the hotel across from the hospital the night before the surgery and we'll be good to go in the morning without a 45 minute drive. Ahhh, this is a nice turn of events. The rest (please gd) should be smooth sailing. -

Medicare Coverage For Gastric Sleeve Surgery?
reallyrosy replied to monty's topic in Insurance & Financing
Update: somehow after howling, ranting raving pleading on my part with anthem, the hospital team got them to approve my surgery for vsg 12/5 Medicare could still approve this in december or january but there was no guarantee. And I didn't want to give up aanymore of my life than I already had...so I said ok, I will pay upfront.....and then the hosp contacted me to say that anthem approved it. Holy cow. -

I use a personal trainer 2x a week once on land and once in pool. When not with her I work on treadmill alone (up to 11 minutes) and lap swims (up to six now). Still waiting on my sleeve but doc told trainer I could start exercising 2 days after my surgery!

10 Day out from surgery and scared
reallyrosy replied to TurtleGirl49's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Thanks, trip. I've got boarding secured for doggie. My friend will drive me to the hosp and bring me home. My neice will stay with me a few days. I'm pretty sure if. Don't change mylife now, I will not have another chance again. I am just fearful that I might not like the surgeon's answers to my questions. I already know he will not do hernia repair. I am so worried that I am guaranteed to have severe reflux because of that. But what will I say to the surgeon? -

Dr. Macaron / St. Mary's Hospital / Waterbury CT anyone else?!?
reallyrosy replied to Stacey Nicole's topic in Weight Loss Surgeons & Hospitals
Been reading the board like a religion and it seems everybody stalls somewhere and then losing starts again. Noone reports HOW that happens. I've lost a few lbs since july when I started looking for this surgery. I was 320 and now 311 but the last 6 lbs fell off these past 2 weeks. Been fooling with the south b*tch diet and a few proteon shakes but still basically eating as usual. Shrug. Mayb e its the exercise? Who wants to give in and adm8it that????? Suspect it'll happen for you, too just you haved to go thru the agony like everyone else, I guess! Its a big cosmic joke -
Hi. I work out with a personal trainer. If anything hurts, she finds another way for me to exercise the same group of muscles but without the pain. I don't know if this will help you but...just an idea.
