I have been ordering sushi with a cucumber wrap instead of rice for months, even before WLS. It just tastes better to me, and is sooo healthy. Try it.

Yesterday I ate out and the table across from us had 3 people just staring at me the whole time. I guess my small portion and tiny slow bites had them awe stricken! LOL! Wish they had just asked me why. I felt very uneasy. They stared until we left, even watching me box up my leftovers.

Why the Shock and Disdain for WLS
Tera replied to favoredone's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Awesome post. (Hey, your pink is still going on my post) Some people have to mouth off, I just ignore it. It doesn't matter what you do, they will find some reason to blab, stare and judge. Like yesterday. My hubby and I went out to eat lunch. There was a table of 3 people across from us just STARING at me the entire time. I guess they were completely blown away by a small portion eaten very slowly, I wish they had just asked me why for crying out loud! They even stared at me boxing up the leftovers. It was surreal. Good luck with your family and friends though. Find out who your supporters are and talk only to them about the WLS. And when the others see you getting healthy and happy after surgery, they may come aboard the happy train. -
LOL! I hear ya! I have wiggled and struggled into some spanx before. I am drawn to those Leonisa because they offer butt lift styles and options where the butt isnt covered (buttless pants) and therefore won't flatten or diminish my scant booty.

Thank goodness for all your replies! I feel normal now, smiles. I managed to lose a pound yesterday! YAY!

I had great preop success by mimicking the sleeve diet. Eating tiny portions and drinking protein shakes/drinks. Honestly, I didn't exercise at all, still trying to work on that. I figured why not begin my new eating habits early, and i am glad I did. It made things much easier after surgery and I HAD TO eat that way. Just an idea I thought you might consider. Good luck!

Welcome to the forum. I am new also. This place is very helpful and the people are great. Its so wonderful that you got your PCOS diagnosis early. I didn't know about mine until my 30's. I always thought it was odd that I was infertile for 8 years, and then one summer I lost about 25 pounds line dancing and BOOM, i got pregnant. All I can say is do it. DO THE SURGERY! Its the best thing I ever did. I am only starting week 4, and my diabetes and blood pressure problems are gone. I wish I had done it earlier. I ended up with 2 beautiful kids, now teenagers. I wanted 3 tho. If I had the surgery back then, I would have gotten my 3rd no doubt. Do it for confidence, freedom to wear those cute junior sized clothes, do it for your future ease in having babies, and mostly do it for your life. It can save your life hun. Hugs.

LOL! I was thinking the same thing. How about show us how it will actually look and work on one of us at our goal weight at least!

I have been looking into that body shape wear advertised on this website. Leonisa or something. Has anyone tried these products? How were the results?

Wow. I am sorry for all your trouble. Hopefully with the sleeve they can remove the damaged part of your stomach? -
Too much weight loss before surgery on pre-op diet?
Tera replied to Brittanysiemens's topic in Mexico & Self-Pay Weight Loss Surgery
Not dumb at all. I had the same worries. My nurse practitioner told me to stop loosing a few weeks before my surgery. I don't know if they count the weight you lose on the pre-op liquid diet. That's sort of unavoidable right? -
Yes, I got this surgery so I would not eat for fun, and now I am all butt hurt because eating is not fun. Go figure. We people are so funny sometimes.

When will i feel better?
Tera replied to DallasMomofTwins's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
For me I basically sat on the couch for a week trying to pass gas lol. Didn't have a BM til day 6. It's like your system is asleep and takes days to wake up. Best wishes and congrats! -
Well here I am without much to say today. Of course, tongue-tied for a change, and on the day I begin my first blog, lol. Feeling good about this week's weight loss. Have made some less than healthy food choices (had wine on Tuesday, yikes). Working on that. I read a post today about a person who is worried about their pride. It got me thinking. I am not religious per say, but they had some valid thoughts on the topic. I too am struggling with my excitement which now has begun to mingle with outright pride and superior feelings. Being very ashamed of this hasn't seemed to come close to stopping it unfortunately. What's worse is I have even directed these feelings toward my sweet husband. However, I rarely say a thing to him about losing his weight, as I promised before surgery I wouldn't bug him because of my choice to get the sleeve. I SAY its because of health, and it is, but not only. I honestly would like him to get thin with me. I want him to look good in his jeans. Is that sooo wrong? Yes, I am sure it is. But I am not on here to lie and make excuses now am I? Also, I never was very keen on sitting and eating a huge portion myself. Now, when I witness people eating a huge portion, it really disgusts me. I have learned so far in these 3.5 weeks post op that I have to just stay quiet a lot. Furthermore, I am learning the fine art of faked modesty. When people say I look so good 30 pounds lighter, I smile and thank them graciously ... when all I really want to say is "I know right!" Giggles. Well, so much for being tongue-tied.

Your so right. I need to stop acting like I can do anything. Thats my usual approach to life. I can do it, how hard can it be. But my stomach is not cooperating with that frame of thought. Thanks for the swift kick.
